SHOW OF STRENGTH Trump-Putin latest: US president's surprise nuke warning to Vlad as Russian tyrant lands on US soil for historic talks
DONALD Trump welcomed Vladimir Putin to US soil with a jaw-dropping show of American military might.

Putin looked on as the nuclear-capable aircraft swept overhead, a clear signal from Washington that the US president was meeting the Russian leader on his own terms — and with overwhelming firepower in the skies.
Trump's runway walk also took Putin through four parked F-22 Raptor stealth fighters - the opening scene to a high-stakes summit billed as a potential turning point in the Ukraine war.
Trump's Air Force One touched down at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson just 20 minutes before the Kremlin's presidential jet carrying Putin arrived.
The US president was seen clapping at the Russian tyrant as he approached - while a beaming Vlad gave him a thumbs-up.
They then had a moment in Trump's limo - nicknamed The Beast - ahead of closed-door talks about ending the war in Ukraine.
And Don's motorcade took the Russian president slowly down a line of more F-22 Raptor jets and Apache attack helicopters.
It's the first time in almost a decade that Putin had set foot on US soil - despite being a wanted war criminal.
Trump, instead of a previously planned one-on-one meeting, is now being flanked by Rubio and Witkoff during his chat with Putin, White House.
Putin, on the other hand, will bring in Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov.
Volodymyr Zelensky said he is "counting on America" as Trump and Putin prepare to meet for crunch talks.
Trump says tyrant Putin's need to kill 'might be in his genes' but onslaught 'hurts his negotiations' as leaders head to Alaska for Ukraine peace summit
He said he hopes the peace summit between the two leaders leads to a trilateral meeting to get Ukraine involved in the peacemaking process.
It comes after Trump blasted Vladimir Putin for continuing to attack Ukraine and said his urge to kill "might be in his genes".
The high-stakes talks could last up to seven hours, the Kremlin said earlier.
Meanwhile, people in Anchorage have been protesting about Putin being allowed to set foot on US soil due to him facing an arrest warrant over war crime allegations.
Many are demanding that the conflict in Ukraine come to an end due to the barbaric killing of innocent civilians every day.
Trump echoed some of the protesters' thoughts as he spoke to reporters ahead of his first face-to-face meeting with Putin in six years.
He said: "In [Putin's] mind, it helps him make a better deal if they can continue the killing.
"Maybe it's a part of the world, maybe it's a part of his fabric, his genes, his genetics, but he thinks it gives him strength in negotiating.
"I think it hurts him."
Trump also warned that Russia faces "very severe" consequences if Putin doesn't appear interested in agreeing to a peace deal during the summit.
Don had voiced concerns earlier about how Putin might behave during the talks already - comparing it to a game of chess.
Trump reiterated these thoughts as he took to Truth Social shortly before he left Washington to simply say: "HIGH STAKES!!!"

Trump's gift to Putin revealed as dossier found at Alaska hotel detailing lunch menu and how to pronounce Vlad's name

The eight-page printout, that was allegedly found at an Anchorage hotel printer, also showed the planned menu for a lunch that never happened. Despite three hours of talks, the pair did not reach a peace deal to bring the war in Ukraine to a close. But a dossier that was allegedly found by guests in a public printer at the Hotel Captain Cook has shed new light on other details of the meeting. No secretive or sensitive information appears to be included, but the document features insight into the White House's procedure. It includes a memo featuring the names, photos and participants attending the meeting. Also included is a guide on how to pronounce the Russian despot's name - which is outlined as "POO-tihn". But it further revealed the gift that Trump planned to hand over the Putin at the event. An American bald eagle desk statue was listed as the present that was to be gifted to the warmongering tyrant. Previously, Putin gifted Trump a portrait of himself back in March that depicted his now famous fist-pump after a failed attempt on his life on the 2024 campaign trail. Special envoy Steve Witkoff claimed this artwork had "clearly touched" Trump. Donald Trump vows full peace deal not 'mere ceasefire' after Alaska summit as Zelensky to head to White House The Alaska dossier also included details of an eventually scrapped working lunch between the two presidents. The menu would have featured a filet mignon with brandy peppercorn sauce and a salad with champagne vinaigrette. A seating plan had the two leaders facing each other at the middle of a long, rectangular table. However, most of the major details of the widely-watched summit had been published in advance of Trump and Putin's arrival in Alaska. The summit ended with no peace deal being reached, but Trump said "some great progress" had been made. The two leaders made statements to the media following their three hour negotiations. Trump told reporters: "There were many, many points that we agreed on, most of them, I would say. "A couple of big ones that we haven't quite gotten there, but we've made some headway." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is due to meet Trump at the White House tomorrow for crunch talks. It will be Zelensky's first appearance in the Oval Office since his heated exchange with Trump and Vice President JD Vance in February. Putin has reportedly demanded that Ukraine fully ceded the regions of Donetsk and Luhansk in exchange for no further Russian advances in the south. However, Zelensky has so far ruled out handing over this territory to Moscow. 5 Nikas Safronov shows Trump raising his fist on stage after the failed assassination attempt Credit: Nikas Safronov

Vladimir Putin names his to end Ukraine war as Zelensky prepares for Trump talks

Vladimir Putin is hoping to grab as much land as possible from Ukraine ahead of any ceasefire or peace deal with Donald Trump remaining coy over what guarantees he will offer Kyiv Russian despot Vladimir Putin has named his price to bring an end to the war in Ukraine as Volodymyr Zelensky prepares for his showdown with Donald Trump. ‌ Putin appeared willing to end the bloodshed at a steep price according to reports, namely demanding full control of Donetsk and Luhansk as a condition toward peace. In exchange for the two occupied regions of eastern Ukraine, he would surrender other territories held by his troops in the country. ‌ Several outlets have reported Trump is inclined to support the plan and will discuss Putin's price with Zelensky when they meet in the Oval Office on Monday. European leaders will wait in apprehension, hoping the meeting will avoid any confrontation like the spat between Zelensky and Vice President JD Vance earlier this year. ‌ Following the Alaska summit on Friday, Trump told Fox News it was up to the Ukrainian president to "make a deal" to bring an end to the war. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer commended Mr Trump's "pursuit of an end to the killing" following a phone call with the US President, Zelensky and Nato allies on Saturday morning. The UK leader did stress Zelensky should not be excluded from future talks to broker a peace in Ukraine. Starmer and other European leaders appear increasingly confident Trump will offer a "security guarantee" of air support to back up allied troops on the ground in Ukraine. The Prime Minister welcomed 'the openness of the United States, alongside Europe, to provide robust security guarantees to Ukraine as part of any deal. This is important progress and will be crucial in deterring Putin from coming back for more." Trump did appear to have a change of heart on what he wants to achieve from the talks, indicating that he wants a permanent peace settlement rather than a ceasefire. Posting on TruthSocial, the US president said: "It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a peace agreement, which would end the war, and not a mere ceasefire agreement, which often times do not hold up." ‌ Putin described the meeting as "timely" and "useful" after leaving Alaska. Experts warned the meeting on US soil risked legitimising the Russian leader after he has been made a pariah by the international community following his invasion of Ukraine. Dr Neil Melvin, director of international security at the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi), said: " Vladimir Putin came to the Alaska summit with the principal goal of stalling any pressure on Russia to end the war. He will consider the summit outcome as mission accomplished." Zelensky warned Russia may ramp up its strikes against his country in the coming days "in order to create more favourable political circumstances for talks with global actors." Kyiv's troops are 'defending our positions along the entire front line', he added on social media site X. The Ukrainian leader earlier insisted a ceasefire must include an end to fighting on land, in the sea and the air, as well as returning all prisoners of war and captured civilians, including children. Sanctions on Moscow "should be strengthened if there is no trilateral meeting or if Russia tries to evade an honest end to the war', Zelensky added.
