A super-viral faux flower market is coming to Rockefeller Center this fall

Time Out7 days ago
Remember that viral faux flower exhibition that popped up on Roosevelt Island last fall? Called Flower Market, the installation by artist Cj Hendry invited New Yorkers to visit for free—and even get a complimentary plush flower to take home.
Fans of flowers (and free stuff) responded in droves—so much so that officials shut down part of Roosevelt Island because of overcrowding, and the artist moved the installation to Industry City in Brooklyn instead. Well, Flower Market is coming back this September 19–21, this time at Rockefeller Center, the artist announced yesterday in an all-caps Instagram post.
Though official details haven't been announced yet—specifically, whether the installation will be free this time and how ticketing will work—it's certain to be a beautiful sight. The 2024 iteration of Flower Market filled a massive white tent with 100,000 plush roses, sunflowers, lilies and more in vibrant colors. Thousands of New Yorkers, including queen Martha Stewart herself, visited to stroll through the faux meadow and pick a bouquet.
Fans of the show responded to Hendry's announcement with hundreds of comments. One person who attended last year wrote, "This is one of my fav memories of a solo parenting moment with my daughter!" Others said they're "SCREAMING with excitement!" and "Brb putting in a PTO request for day 1."
As an artist, Hendry is known for inspiring joy and beauty, and she's graced New York City with her vision several times recently. Most recently, she exhibited Keff Joons, a surreal inflatable wonderland made for climbing—and snapping some very Instagrammable photos. In years past, her Pink Chairs, a pair of concrete chairs popped up in Prospect Park, and her adult playground called PLAIDground

Inside Justin Timberlake's 'debilitating' secret health battle and world tour struggles

Justin Timberlake's shock announcement that the singer has been secretly battling a debilitating health condition explains why his world tour was plagued by cancellations and performance issues Following a number of cancellations and performance issues with Justin Timberlake 's Forget Tomorrow World Tour, the Senorita singer made the shock announcement that he had been battling a secret health condition. The star revealed in a candid Instagram post that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease, a bacterial infection spread by ticks. ‌ Among other symptoms, the NHS states that chronic fatigue, lethargy, headaches and muscle and joint pain can all be attributed to the often misdiagnosed disease. He joins a number of other celebrities who have also been honest about contracting the illness, including Bella and Yolanda Hadid, Riley Keough, Justin Bieber, Alec Baldwin and Ben Stiller. ‌ Lyme disease cases surged in the UK last year, with health authorities forced to issue an urgent warning to the public about the condition. It comes after it emerged Whitney Houston spent her tragic final moments 'feasting on food' with gravy boat in bathtub. ‌ Justin Timberlake's secret health battle Justin shared his thoughts on overcoming the condition, offering fans an explanation for some of the problems it had caused him. Writing on his story, the 44-year-old pop star opened up, saying: "Well, as these two incredible years come to an end and I look forward to the future, I wanted to write something from the heart. ‌ "It's not an easy task to try to contextualise the whirlwind of touring – but I will try…this has been the most fun, emotional, gratifying, physically demanding, and, at times, gruelling experience. I have been doing this for 30+ years (which feels crazy to say)—and have given all that I have to this. I could not have done it without my family, friends, the TN kids, and all of your support. "As many of you know, I'm a pretty private person. But as I'm reflecting on the tour and festival tour – I want to tell you a little bit about what's going on with me. "Among other things, I've been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease, which I don't say so you feel bad for me, but to shed some light on what I've been up against behind the scenes. If you've experienced this disease or know someone who has, then you're aware: living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically. ‌ "When I first got the diagnosis, I was shocked for sure. But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness. I was faced with a personal decision. Stop touring? Or, keep going and figure it out. I decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I'm so glad I kept going. "Not only did I prove my mental tenacity to myself, but I now have so many special moments with all of you that I will never forget. I was reluctant to talk about this because I was always raised to keep something like this to myself. But I am trying to be more transparent about my struggles so that they aren't misinterpreted. Sharing all of this with the hope that we can all find a way to be more connected. I'd like to do my part to help others experiencing this disease, too." ‌ What is Lyme disease? Ticks that can cause Lyme disease are most commonly found in the Northeastern, mid-Atlantic, and upper-Midwestern regions of the United States. But they are also known to be found all over the UK, with high-risk places including grassy and wooded areas in southern England and the Scottish Highlands. Although some individuals that have Lyme disease get a rash or bite mark, there are not always obvious symptoms. Two types of blood tests are available to help confirm or rule out Lyme disease, however these tests are not always accurate in the early stages. You may also need to be retested if you still believe you have Lyme disease symptoms after a negative result, the NHS says. A course of antibiotics is usually the best treatment for the infection, although symptoms can go on for years. ‌ Justin's tour struggle The Forget Tomorrow World Tour was announced in support of Justin Timberlake's sixth studio album, Everything I Thought It Was. It kicked off on April 29, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada. He visited Europe, before heading back to Canada and the US. An extension to the tour, called JT Live 2025, saw the singer perform a number of festivals and one-off shows, before officially ending on 30 July in Istanbul, Turkey. But some fans were left disappointed with their idol, after he cancelled some concerts, with nobody knowing until this week why. ‌ His February concert at Ohio's Nationwide Arena was cancelled at the very last minute, leaving his fans angry and out of pocket. He wrote at the time: "You guys, I'm heartbroken, I have to cancel the show tonight." He added: "I went into soundcheck battling the flu and now it's gotten the best of me. It kills me to disappoint you and my team who worked so hard to make this show happen. "I want to reassure you, you'll be getting refunds for your tickets. I love you all." ‌ In October 2024, he also cancelled his performance in Newark, New Jersey, only telling his fans a few hours before the gig. The same month, he pulled out of a further six shows, after he was struck down with laryngitis and bronchitis. Fans left fuming One of the former N*Sync star's fans shared a video on X showing disappointed fans departing the venue en masse. The person wrote: "Everyone leaving Nationwide Arena because Justin Timberlake cancelled the LAST tour date after already rescheduling from October. 10 minutes before the opener and after doors opened." ‌ Other disgruntled fans replied with their own experiences, with one commenting: "Bought almost 40 bucks in drinks tonight, was sitting in our seats, we thought the announcement was a joke". Another added: "Paid 20 dollars in parking and now 2 vacation days wasted on this." Someone else was left raging at the short notice, commenting: "Canceling [because] of being sick is 100% understandable. Canceling 10 minutes before the doors were to open is unacceptable." Another wrote: "The show was canceled at 7:30 and the show was supposed to start at 8:00, I'm sorry if you have the flu you would've know before 1/2hour before the show starts. There were little kids standing in line that was devastated that you canceled. Shame on you."

Cruz Beckham apologises to fans and shares new swimwear snap after tiny white trunks pic

Cruz Beckham has taken to Instagram to apologise to fans after he posed confidently in a pair of white trunks, thought to be his dad David's, while on holiday with his family Cruz Beckham is apologetic after he attempted to give his dad David a run for his money as he stripped down to a pair of tiny white trunks. The aspiring musician, 20, donned a pair of budgie smugglers as he soaked up the sun on his parent's lavish yacht. ‌ Now, Cruz has taken to his Instagram to post a fully clothed picture alongside brother Romeo, issuing an apology. ‌ Cruz certainly turned heads with his social media snap from the Beckham yacht trip as he spread his legs wide while sat on a large white sofa at the back of the boat. He left little to the imagination as he proudly posed in his tiny trunks and a pair of sunglasses. It comes after Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss. ‌ Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones split as he joins a notorious dating app on a lads' holiday Taylor Swift sparks engagement rumours as fans spot Travis Kelce's lock screen ‌ 'Sorry I don't have more speedos pictures x' he said while posting a new carousel of pictures from the family holiday, which included dad, David. The new snaps show Cruz and Romeo with their football friend Mitchell Curry sat in the back of a car. The second photo shows a smiling Romeo and David in the swimming trunks posing with the dad Sir David, while a third photo shows the trio enjoying a pizza together on a yacht. The new photos and apology from Cruz come after he posted a bold snap of himself posing in a pair of tiny white trunks, which struck a similar resemblance to his dad's iconic tiny white swimwear. Cruz appeared to lap up the attention as he originally captioned his bold snap: "Speeedos," before changing it to "Spreadin em." ‌ His older brother Romeo was certainly surprised by the photo as he quipped: "Jesus." Cruz's girlfriend Jackie Apostel also got involved as she left a string of laughing crying emoji's under Romeo's comment. Their grandma and David's mum, Sandra, made her feelings clear as she left a series of telling emojis under Cruz's post. She wrote a red love heart, followed by a shocked open mouth emoji and the laugh crying face. Cruz has been lapping it up with famous dad David, mum Victoria and his siblings Romeo and Harper on their £16million vessel. His older brother Brooklyn was nowhere to be seen, as he favoured a trip around the Mediterranean with his wife Nicola Peltz's family instead. ‌ Brooklyn has been keeping his distance from his famous family, having skipped David's 50th birthday in May. It comes after Brooklyn was spotted cosying up with his father-in-law in a 'financial flex' over his own family. Earlier this month, reports claimed Romeo and Cruz unfollowed Brooklyn on social media, which insiders branded the 'Gen Z version of World War Three". ‌ 'Even when the family have reached out to Brooklyn they have been ignored,' a source told the Sun. 'He's not had contact for months and it feels clear to them that he doesn't want to make amends.' Initially, it was reported that Brooklyn and Nicola had unfollowed Romeo and Cruz but a friend of Brooklyn's said that wasn't the case. 'Brooklyn had no idea until he read about it online. "It's possible Romeo and Cruz blocked them, which would make it appear as him no longer following the brothers.' Shortly after news of the snub broke, Romeo shared Justin Bieber 's Walking Away on his Instagram Stories, captioning it: 'Yup.' Brooklyn and Nicola have been enjoying a holiday of their own as they sailed into Saint-Tropez on a £85million, 80 metre yacht called Project X as they lapped up the luxury getaway. It had been rented by Nicola's parents, Nelson and Claudia Peltz, and set them back a staggering £1.2million a week. Brooklyn avoided a run in with his parents as they arrived in the same French dock just two days later - which he reportedly was unaware of. They turned up on a £16million, 40 metre vessel named Seven.
