Rockies DFA infielder Keston Hiura
June 16 - The Colorado Rockies designated first baseman Keston Hiura for assignment following Sunday's game.
In a corresponding move, the club recalled first baseman Michael Toglia from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday. The Rockies did not make a move to replace Hiura on the 40-man roster.
Hiura, 28, was batting .222 in eight games this season, his first in Colorado. He's a career .235 hitter with 50 home runs and 134 RBIs with the Milwaukee Brewers (2019-22), Los Angeles Angels (2024) and Rockies.
Toglia, 26, is batting .194 in 54 games this season. He's hitting .203 across parts of four seasons with the Rockies, including playing in 116 games in 2024. He has 37 career home runs and 96 RBIs.
The Rockies selected Toglia No. 23 overall in the 2019 draft.

In a story published by The Athletic on Monday, Norris Sellers said his son's highest offer was for two years and $8 million. The schools that reached out were not identified. "He was offered all kinds of crazy numbers," Norris told the outlet. "I told him he could say, 'I'm gonna stay or I'm gonna go.' (But) my two cents: It was to get into college on a scholarship, play ball, get our degree and go on about our business. This NIL deal came later. We didn't come here to make money. We came here to get our education, play ball, and with schools calling, we're not gonna jump ship because they're offering more than what we're getting. If it ain't broke, don't fix it." In his sophomore season -- his first as a starter -- Sellers completed 65.6 percent of his passes for 2,534 yards, 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He added 674 yards and seven scores on the ground. Most notably, Sellers helped the Gamecocks upset intrastate rival Clemson 17-14 on Nov. 30. He threw for 164 yards and rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score on a third-and-16 play with 1:08 to go. Sellers earned third-team all-SEC honors (behind Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart and Texas' Quinn Ewers) while helping South Carolina finish the regular season 9-3 before a Citrus Bowl loss to Illinois. NIL endorsement deals poured in over the offseason, but his father advised him not to chase more money from rival schools. "You're 19," Norris said. "You don't need ($8 million). In the ref cam replay of Neto's goal, the Portuguese could be seen chopping inside before thwacking a shot beyond Lloris. The official then turned around to see the winger celebrating with his team-mates. Fans enjoyed the different angle, with one writing on social media: "That is pretty good."
