Glamorous photos capturing some of the best dressed at Musselburgh Racecourse's Ladies Day 2025
The fashion show was sponsored by Tiger Lily Boutique and hosted by Edinburgh legend Grant Stott. It saw huge crowds gather to watch as the best-dressed ladies and gentlemen competed for more than £6,500 in prizes.
Winner Erika Paterson bagged the top best dressed prize and bagged a £5,000 trip to France, £1,500 in spending money and a voucher for Tiger Lily Boutique.
Aisling Johnston, head of marketing at Musselburgh Racecourse, said: 'Everyone makes a huge effort for Ladies Day and that was borne out again this year with many stunning racegoers taking the opportunity to dress to the nines.
'So many of our Ladies Day guests return year in year out and that is great testament to the popularity of the event which has sold out for more than 20 years, but we are not complacent and always try to freshen things up and improve the offering.
'Erika was a worthy winner of the Style Awards but the lovely thing is the effort that all racegoers have gone to dress up for the day. It was a hugely successful day and we can't wait to do it all over again in 2026.'
The day finished with an after party hosted by JLS star Marvin Humes.

STRICTLY star JB Gill has revealed why he and his wife Chloe didn't end up renewing their vows at 10 years, despite plans to. The JLS star, 38, married Chloe in January 2014 after four years of being together. 5 5 5 The couple met when Chloe was a back-up dancer for JB's pop band JLS – while the singer described the big day as 'the best day of my life'. Chloe and JB wed on the Scottish Island of Bute with JLS bandmates Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and Oritse Williams in attendance. But the star and his wife, who share two adorable children, didn't end up renewing their vows after 10 years of marriage in 2024, and JB has explained why. The 38-year-old told The Sun: 'It was really weird because we always said 10 years. 'And listen, we'd have loved to have done it just to say that we did it, but it just didn't quite feel right and I think we're definitely in that place in life where it's like we're in the thick of it.' JB went on: 'We're in the busy part of life, the kids are taking a lot of the focus and there's not a lot of spare time and I think in the next ten years for example Ace will be 21, which is nuts, but I think at that stage when they're sort of a lot more independent and doing their own thing, maybe at uni or at work, got their own house or whatever, then that'll be the time to sort of get together and have some time for ourselves.' Strictly runner-up JB also opened up on how he and wife Chloe keep the spark alive in their marriage, while being heavily involved in the world of showbiz. Speaking on behalf of car insurance brand Tempcover, JB continued: 'I mean, this, honestly, genuinely, it's tough because it's busy, you know, ultimately, and we're both doing our own things. 'Wherever we can we just take moments with each other, whether that's going on holiday or a night out.' JB is a busy family and career man, with no signs of stopping. Not only is the start embarking on his brand new The Club Is Alive tour with JLS in November, but JB also fronts shows like The One Show, had his CBeebies show Down on the Farm, and a cooking show with his two adorable children Ace and Chiara. Touching on family life with his wife Chloe, JB spoke about their summer plans and the fact that they are lovers of a game of shotgun when it comes to car journeys. He said: 'Three in ten argue with their kids about who gets the front seat in the car but that just doesn't happen in my family. 'My wife is always overruling the kids, the unofficial rule is that wives overrule. But yeah, it's great working with Tempcover, because everyone plays it differently and certainly over the years when I first started driving I played shotgun with my mates and the JLS boys too.' Beverley Ladies Day: 'Ladies by day, devils later'
Every August hoards of women donned in colourful couture and flamboyant fascinators descend on the quaint East Yorkshire market town of Beverley for Ladies Day. While the racecourse sparks with glitz and glamour, some brace themselves for the the stuff of street sweeper's are strewn on the kerbside. Overfilled wheelie bins plague the pavements, which are awash with empty pizza boxes and polystyrene takeaway food year thousands descend on Beverley Racecourse for Ladies Day, where women dress up to the nines from the hats all the way down to the high heels."It's nice to just get dressed up and be glam for the day," says Jodie Crawford, from sports a ruby red minidress with a matching handbag, fascinator and fluffy thong sandals. Alcohol forms a big part of the occasion, although Beverley Racecourse is keen to stress free water is offered at its bars. Management say staff also work closely with the town's pubs and bars, and they are in close contact with Beverley Street Angels - volunteers who help keep revellers safe. "It's very crazy," says Ms Crawford. "Obviously we've been drinking all day so it's a bit different. You go from being a lady for the day and then you go back and just let loose." For some, drinking begins at 09:00 BST and 12 hours later, the booze-fuelled carnage spills across the town, leaving an indelible stain on the streets. We see one woman attempting a cartwheel on the historic market cross. As the night draws on there are more chaotic scenes as the mirth and merriment turns even woman's arm is covered in blood and her friend is collapsed behind her in a Condette was baking late into the night in his French patisserie. Looking disgusted, he says: "When you see what's happening, it's unbelievable."It's ladies day in the morning, but they're devils at night." He is cautious about opening the door to his shop on Lairgate and describes the outside frivolities as "a zoo"."It's not Ladies Day anymore. It is definitely something different," he Mr Condette is not a fan, other businesses have been licking their lips to the sound of the tills ringing in the hat shops and boutiques which have seen roaring trades in the days leading up to the too the the last race finishes, the town's Saturday market sees hundreds queuing for the Hazlewood, the general manager of the Kings Head pub in Market Place, says his staff embrace the "full-on day" that comes with the event but he says they also brace themselves for the "carnage" that follows."It's the biggest calendar event of the year for the locals, they love it, everyone comes here. "It's a lot of fun but it is carnage." Mr Hazlewood adds: "People forget how to [be] humans. Sometimes people will use the outside beer garden as a toilet and sometimes people even use the restaurant as a toilet." One resident says the areas around his property becomes a public toilet during the tells us: "The last two years... people leaving the races have come down the lane, and basically it's young lads, urinating up against the wall."They've even gone through my gate and urinated through there. They're just very, very drunk people." East Riding of Yorkshire Council teams waste no time in getting to work, clearing up after the revellers.A spokesperson says: "Our experienced street cleansing team undertakes the clean-up work in the early hours of the morning, drawing on many years of experience to ensure the Westwood area and town is quickly returned to its usual welcoming state."Extra wheeled bins are positioned near the race course and routes back to town for attendees to use, helping to facilitate the clean up process."
