Humanitarian Coordination Center issues decision banning US crude oil exports

Saba Yemen03-05-2025

Sana'a (Saba) – The Humanitarian Coordination Center (HOCC) issued a decision yesterday, Friday, banning US crude oil exports, the decision will take effect on May 17, 2025.
The Executive Director of the Humanitarian Coordination Center explained in a press statement that the American enemy continues to launch raids on various Yemeni governorates, targeting civilians and civilian objects, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries, including women and children.
He said, "Just as the American enemy previously targeted the Ras Issa oil port in Al Hudaydah Governorate on April 17, 2025, targeting civilian facilities, workers, and employees, in a horrific crime that is considered one of the most heinous massacres committed against humanity, in an attempt to besiege the Yemeni people, the Republic of Yemen has the right to respond to the crimes, massacres, and war crimes committed by the American enemy against the Yemeni people, their infrastructure, and their capabilities."
He added, "Therefore, a decision has been made to prohibit the export, re-export, transfer, loading, purchase, or sale of U.S. crude oil (HS Code 2709.00) from U.S. ports, whether directly or indirectly, including ship-to-ship transfers (STS), whether in whole or in part, including through third parties."
He pointed out that this decision was made based on Law No. (5) of 1445 AH regarding the classification of countries, entities, and individuals hostile to the Republic of Yemen, and the Sanctions List for Perpetrators of Aggression against Yemen or Any Arab or Islamic Country (SR-PAYAIS).
The decision also included the possibility of granting exceptions or permits for humanitarian purposes, or for countries and companies that oppose the policies and decisions of the U.S. administration, by submitting a request to Licensing@hocc.gov.ye.
This decision will take effect on May 17, 2025, at 00:01 a.m. Sana'a time, which is equivalent to May 16, 2025, at 21:01 p.m. UTC.

UN: Israel's blocking of aid makes Gaza hungriest place on earth

Berlin - Saba: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Thursday that Israel is preventing all but a small amount of humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, with virtually no ready-to-eat food entering what the OCHA spokesman described as "the hungriest place on earth." Office spokesman Jens Laerke added that only 600 of the 900 aid trucks authorized to reach the Israeli-Gaza border have reached the Gaza Strip. From there, a combination of bureaucratic and security obstacles has made it nearly impossible to safely bring aid into the Strip, according to Reuters. With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has been committing genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 54,249 citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 123,492 others, as of yesterday, Thursday, in a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulance and rescue crews. Iranian Foreign Ministry: Path to agreement goes through negotiations, not media

Tehran - Saba: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian responded to media speculation about an imminent agreement between Tehran and Washington, stating: "The media continues to predict an impending deal between Iran and the U.S. I am not confident that we are truly at such a point." According to Iran's official news agency IRNA, Amir-Abdollahian added in a post on X (formerly Twitter): "The Islamic Republic of Iran is sincerely seeking a diplomatic solution that secures the interests of all parties. However, this requires an agreement that lifts all sanctions and guarantees Iran's nuclear rights, including enrichment." The Iranian foreign minister also referenced a report by an American news channel citing Austrian intelligence sources regarding Iran's nuclear program, saying: "As for the latest fabricated news against Iranian and American diplomacy, using Iran's name as a tool to attack domestic critics in the U.S. is a worthless move, even for 'Israel'." Fox News had claimed that a new intelligence report prepared by Austrian authorities alleged that Iran is still continuing its active nuclear weapons program, which the report suggested could be used to launch long-range missiles. It added that this intelligence data collected by Austrian authorities contradicts the assessment of the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). Earlier, in March, U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines informed the Senate Intelligence Committee that Iran is not manufacturing nuclear weapons and that the Supreme Leader of Iran has not authorized the militarization of the country's nuclear program. Southern Movement Component condemns zionist enemy's aggression & escalation in Palestine

Sana'a - Saba: The Southern Movement component participating in the National Dialogue Conference and signatory to the Peace and Partnership Agreement strongly condemned, in the harshest terms, the aggression and escalation by the enemies of the nation—the American and Zionist forces and their allies—throughout Palestine. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the component praised the qualitative deterrence operations carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces by air and sea deep within the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the successful comprehensive air , naval blockade on the airports and ports of the Zionist enemy, in support of the Palestinian people and the residents of Gaza until the aggression ceases and the siege is lifted. The statement pointed out that the aggression of the Zionist entity and their partner, the American enemy, against our country—targeting civilians and civilian facilities, including Sana'a International Airport while pilgrims were departing to perform Hajj—constitutes a crime against humanity, a full-fledged war crime, state terrorism, contempt for religions, and a blatant violation condemned by all divine religions, as well as international norms and conventions. It added, "This necessitates international and regional action to hold the enemies of the nation and humanity—the temporary, fading terrorist Zionist enemy and their criminal partner, the American enemy, along with their allies—accountable for all their violations and aggressive practices against religions and the crime of genocide against humanity in the Gaza Strip." The statement also valued the speech of the Revolution Leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badreddin al-Houthi, regarding the latest developments, emphasizing the popular response to his call for the honorable million-man march on Friday under the slogan: "No Security for the Entity... Gaza and Al-Aqsa Under Aggression." Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
