The scam first came to light on May 27, 2023, when V Shrikanth, area investigation manager at HDFC Bank, lodged a complaint with the Cyberabad cyber crime police.
He alleged that 11 individuals, falsely posing as employees of reputed companies, had secured personal loans ranging between Rs 38 lakh and Rs 49.5 lakh in 2022-2023. These applications were processed entirely via the bank's mobile platform using Aadhaar-based e-KYC.
To qualify for the loans, the accused allegedly uploaded forged salary slips, bank statements, and identity proofs, giving the impression of stable incomes.
'Defaulted payments'
Once the loans were disbursed, the borrowers defaulted on payments and vacated the listed addresses. Subsequent verification visits confirmed that none of them worked at the companies they had claimed. On June 10, 2023, police arrested 10 accused, including two HDFC Bank employees D Chitti Babu, risk intelligence and control (RIC) manager at the Banjara Hills branch, and Harish Chandra Gopal Shetty, credit manager in the same branch.

However, Amazon has managed to get minuscule damages of Rs 23.7 crore against claimed amount of Rs 1436 a final award issued late Thursday night, the three-member tribunal said the 2020 board resolution by Future Retail Ltd (FRL) approving the sale of its retail, wholesale, and logistics assets to Reliance was in breach of contractual obligations under the Shareholders' Agreement (SHA) and Share Subscription Agreement (SSA) signed between Amazon and Future Coupons Pvt Ltd (FCPL).While Amazon had sought damages of Rs 1,436 crore, the tribunal awarded a significantly smaller sum of Rs 23.7 crore. Delhi drugs control department cracks down on sale of fake cholesterol medicines
The Delhi drugs control department recently uncovered a multi-level distribution network involved in the sale and circulation of spurious Rosuvas F 20 tablets, a prescription drug used to manage cholesterol and triglyceride levels, officials said on Friday. The action followed a complaint from Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, which reported that fake versions of its Rosuvas F 20 tablets were being sold by a retail outlet in central Delhi. The complaint mentioned a multi-level supply chain involving multiple wholesalers and distributors across the city. Rosuvas F 20 is a fixed-dose combination drug containing Rosuvastatin (20 mg) and Fenofibrate (160 mg). It is commonly prescribed to patients who require medication to manage high cholesterol and triglyceride levels, especially when lifestyle changes alone are not sufficient. The drug plays a vital role in preventing serious cardiovascular conditions such as heart attacks and strokes. Drugs control department officials said Rosuvas F 20 tablets were a fast-moving drug, and on June 14 and 15, 1,800 spurious tablets worth Rs 88,000 were seized from two locations in Okhla and Bhagirath Palace. 'On June 14, we first received a complaint from Rajinder Nagar, but no stock was found. A link was established in Okhla and Bhagirath Palace, where raids were conducted,' an official said. Officials noted irregularities and a suspicious absence of genuine stock at several distribution points, which ultimately led them to a firm located in the Okhla Industrial Area. 'Visual inspection and comparison with authentic samples suggested that the seized products were spurious — their appearance and packaging did not match those of the legitimate manufacturer,' said an official. Here, additional suspect stock of Rosuvas F 20 was found. Legal samples were collected from Bhagirath Palace, Chandni Chowk—one of Delhi's busiest medicine markets—and sent to a government laboratory for quality testing, while manufacturer verification is also underway, officials revealed. The department has secured custody permission for the seized drugs through the Delhi High Court. 'We are now coordinating with authorities in other states to trace the full supply chain behind the fake medication,' the official said.

While these companies are set for unlocks in July, Nuvama's broader lock-in analysis covers a total of 57 companies between 30th June and 30th October 2025, with an aggregate lock-in value of $ 15 billion. The study includes companies listed up to 25th June 2025. Such expiries are closely watched by market participants, as they can lead to changes in liquidity, free float, and shareholding patterns in the post-IPO phase.
