Burn ban lifted in Orange County
The lifted ban was for unincorporated areas and any municipalities that Orange County Fire Rescue services, including Edgewood, Belle Isle, Oakland and Eatonville.
Burn bans are automatically instituted under Orange County's Fire Prevention and Protection Ordinance when the Keetch-Byram Drought Index meets or exceeds 500.
The recent rainfall helped push the KBDI average below 500 for the seventh consecutive day, allowing the burn ban's cancelation.
While recreational open burning may now resume, officials encourage safety and always having an ability to extinguish any fire that are started.

Record ocean temps fuel Tropical Storm Dexter, 2 more systems brewing
Tropical Storm Dexter has formed off the coast of the Carolinas and is expected to track away from the United States without making landfall. The storm developed quickly due to very warm water in the Gulf Stream, which has been near record-breaking levels in recent weeks. Dexter is projected to fizzle out in the northern Atlantic by the end of the week. Meteorologists are also monitoring two other disturbances. One is located off the Georgia coast, with a 30% chance of development. If it forms, it may drift west or northwest onshore. Another tropical wave off the coast of Africa has a 50% chance of development. This system could form as early as Wednesday, but it is likely to move north too quickly to impact the United States directly. Tropical Storm Dexter forms in Atlantic
Tropical Storm Dexter formed Sunday night in the Atlantic off the Carolina coast, where it will continue to move away from the United States. The 11 pm advisory from the National Hurricane Center has winds of 45 mph. The complex organized quickly during the daytime hours Sunday, and was classified a tropical storm Sunday night. Dexter is expected to strengthen some but remain a tropical storm. The storm will continue to move northeastward away from the United States and will likely become post-tropical by Wednesday. Dexter is the fourth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season. Two other areas in the Atlantic are also being monitored for potential development. Central Florida under heat advisory Wednesday
A heat advisory is in effect for all Central Florida counties on Wednesday. The heat index is expected to soar to between 105 and 110 degrees. Residents across Central Florida should prepare for another sweltering day, with peak heat index values likely to reach dangerous levels. The advisory comes as heat and humidity continue to pose significant concerns for the region. Scattered showers are anticipated to develop this afternoon, offering some temporary cooling, particularly in the late afternoon hours.
