What's behind the online 'nude pics' row between Azealia Banks and Conor McGregor?
Banks is a 34-year-old rapper from Harlem who broke into the global music scene with her smash hit '212′ in 2012, and has had a number of critically acclaimed albums.
She is also well-known for her controversial and often changing opinions and statements – in 2019, for instance, she described Irish people as 'a bunch of prideful inbred leprechauns' after a sold-out gig in Dublin.
Yesterday morning she posted two photos on X, seemingly of McGregor, in which he was nude in front of a mirror.
In one of the photos he appeared to have a weight hanging from his penis, and there was an accompanying message – apparently from McGregor to Banks – which read: 'Don't be a rat cos all rats get caught'.
In a further tweet, tagging McGregor, Banks says:
'Like how are you really going to sexually harass me with the potato farmer d*** then threaten me not to tell???
'Honey…… ain't u trying to be the president of Ireland what is it giving fam?

'Use some f***ing sunscreen damn.'
Later, Banks further tweeted that she and McGregor 'have been sending each other unsolicited nudes since 2016″.
X removed the original photos that Banks posted.
McGregor hasn't commented on the posts, but has been active online including posting videos of himself on a yacht and sharing a 'Happy Birthday' message to himself.

has contacted representation for both McGregor and Banks for comment.
Appeal over civil court sexual abuse verdict
McGregor was deemed liable for sexually assaulting Nikita Hand in the Beacon Hotel on 9 December 2018 following a three-week civil trial at the High Court, with the jury in the case awarding Hand over €248,000 in damages.
McGregor, who had denied the allegations, subsequently appealed the jury's decision and is seeking a re-trial of the civil case against him.
At the start of this month, lawyers for McGregor withdrew their application to introduce new evidence as part of his appeal against the civil jury finding.

'Creepy' Conor McGregor behaviour puzzles fans as he posts strange message
Conor McGregor has been labelled "creepy" and accused of behaving like two well documented recent scandals "never happened". Images of McGregor appearing to show him kissing a mystery woman on a beach in Florida, emerged this week. The photographs appear to show McGregor wearing nothing but luminous green swimming shorts embracing a dark-haired bikini clad woman while sitting on a sun lounger. A few hours after the images of McGregor on the beach with the woman emerged, news broke that the 37 year-old former UFC fighter had allegedly sent unsolicited completely nude photographs of himself to American rapper, Azealia Banks. Banks, 34, claims father of four, McGregor, sent her the two images via her X (formerly Twitter) account. Banks, who does not follow McGregor on the social media app then took screenshots of the images and shared them with her 260k followers on X. Surprisingly, a few hours later, Banks, posted on X saying she and McGregor have been sending each other unsolicited nudes since 2016. Since news of the scandals broke, McGregor, who is engaged to long-term partner, Dee Devlin, has been active on social media where some former fans labelled him "creepy" and accused him of behaving like nothing had happened. He has also failed to address the images that appeared to show him kissing a mystery woman on a beach in Florida. McGregor has also not denied that he sent the nude photographs of himself to American rapper, Azealia Banks. McGregor, who continues to insist he intends to run in the up-and-coming Irish presidential election later this year, also shared a screenshot of an Irish Times story concerning fellow Aras hopeful, Mairead McGuinness. "My brother in Christ, you were just seen cheating on Dee, again. Then being the super creepy pig by sending unsolicited photos of your c***, then proceeded to threaten your victim. Take a f'ing seat," responded one man called Ally. Another man said: "Mate your sending pictures of your Johnson to random people. Give it up with this presidential crap." A third person added: "Conor this is bizarre - why are you behaving like this never happened? It's no wonder most of Ireland can't stand you." However, the reaction wasn't entirely negative. One man tweeted his support of McGregor's bid to become the next President of Ireland. "Mate, u should be the next president of Ireland and put order there. Enough is enough." Last November, a High Court civil jury found McGregor civilly liable for assaulting Nikita Hand. He faced allegations of "brutally raping and battering" Ms Hand at a hotel in south Dublin back in November 2018. McGregor maintained that their sexual interactions at the Beacon Hotel were consensual. The jury sided with her, with €248,603.60 in damages awarded. McGregor has mounted an appeal against the ruling that got underway earlier this month. McGregor has now been absent from the UFC for over four years. His last fight, a second successive defeat to Dustin Poirier in July 2021, saw him break his leg. Dustin the Turkey to 'run for Irish presidency'
Dustin the Turkey plans to 'give back' to the people of Ireland by running to replace Michael D Higgins as the nation's next president. The iconic turkey has announced his intention to run for the position and is prepared to challenge Fine Gael candidate Mairead McGuinness and independent TD Catherine Connolly after their recent campaign confirmations. Dustin told RTE Entertainment: 'Look, I'll be honest with you – I am willing to move to a smaller property, I will go to the Phoenix Park and I will embrace it. The veteran bird is supporting his local hardware shop as a way of repaying the neighbourhood that raised him before he gained fame as the host of RTE kids show 'The Den'. Dustin added: 'The people of Sallynoggin raised me. It is one of those communities where you can leave your back door open. Now, you'll get robbed, but you can leave your back door open. They'll even rob the back door. 'When Chadwicks told me they were refurbin', I put in a tender for it, right? But apparently, some Eastern European builders got it because they turn up in time and charge a fair price and come back if there's anything wrong with the job.' Despite his big ambitions, Dustin is not limiting his campaigning to just the Irish presidency. He believes he could fall back on the vacant Liveline position left open by the recent departure of Joe Duffy, should his Áras bid fall through. He said: 'Me and Joe get on well. Joe was the ringmaster of a circus full of clowns and I'd be able to continue that on Liveline. You get all the nuts and madsters coming on and you just say, 'dear god, dear god, dear god . . . I don't know what to do' and you get a quarter a million a year. It's that simple.'

Cork-shot film directed by Brendan Canty wins Best Irish Film at Galway Film Fleadh
A Cork-shot feature film directed by Irish director Brendan Canty won the Best Irish Film prize at the 37th edition of the Galway Film Fleadh earlier this week. Christy, which was written by Alan O'Gorman, directed by Brendan Canty and produced by Marina Brackenbury, Meredith Duff and Rory Gilmartin, won Best Irish Film in association with Element Pictures at the Fleadh. The Fleadh welcomed filmmakers and audiences from around the world to celebrate bold storytelling, new voices, and cinematic excellence. Christy, based on Canty's short film of the same name, follows a 17-year-old after he is thrown out of his foster home and moves in with his estranged older half-brother in Cork. Danny Power, Emma Willis, and Chris Walley star in the UK-Ireland co-production, which is due to be released in Irish cinemas on August 29. The acclaimed coming-of-age story received its world premiere as the opening film of the Generation 14 plus competition at Berlinale 2025 and won the Grand Prix of the Generation 14plus International Jury in Berlin in February. A total of 97 feature films, including 44 Irish features, and more than 100 shorts from Ireland and the rest of the world were screened over six days at this year's Fleadh. The festival closed with a sold-out screening of The Life of Chuck, directed by Mike Flanagan and based on the novella by Stephen King, which was followed by the presentation of this year's awards. The Best Irish First Feature went to Horseshoe, the Best Irish Feature Documentary was awarded to Sanatorium, the Bingham Ray New Talent Award was awarded to Jessica Reynolds for her role in The Wolf, The Fox & The Leopard, the Best Irish Language Feature Film was awarded to Báite, and the James Horgan Award for Best Animation Short, was awarded to Éiru. Donncha Gilmore's Girls & Boys and Eamonn Murphy's Solitary won Best Independent Irish Film, and the Audience Award went to Lance Daly's Trad. Several awards were also given to projects presented at the Galway Film Fair, including Gary Lennon's John Lennon's Island (Best Documentary Project, supported by Impronta Films) and Fiona Ashe's Beneath the Surface (Audience Design Award, supported by Síle Culley).
