After the actress moved on from Home and Away, she had some roles in other Aussie dramas such as, All Saints, and treaded the boards in theatre productions Down Under.
She decided to follow in the footsteps of her Home and Away co-stars, Melissa George and
While she has appeared in some films and TV shows over the years, Tempany has largely moved away from acting and her new career path couldn't any more different than her character Selina on the soap.
She teaches writing courses at UCLA, works as a motivation speaker and has published a massive 18 children's books.

Tempany based in Los Angeles for most of the year and in between sharpening young minds, she took time earlier this year to appear in season 4 of FOXTEL's prison drama Wentworth.
She also made a surprise appearance in the Emmy-award winning Netflix series, Dahmer, where she played a cop working the desk at a police station in one episode of the limited series.
Tempany opened up on quitting acting, saying it felt like she'd dodged a bullet.
"For me, I always wanted to give a really good turn at my writing, and I wanted to have children," Deckert

"I knew that if I had children and I was working on sets, it was going to be very difficult. You are working many hours a day and you don't get to see them that much," she added.
"If I had gotten a bunch of jobs in Hollywood, I probably would have stayed the course because I love acting – but I probably wouldn't have gotten married and had kids."

The actress also runs writing courses for anyone who wants to follow in her footsteps, including one called Write a Novel, Change your Life.
She recently promoted an upcoming course on Instagram where she looked unrecognisable from her days playing Selina on Home and Away.
Wearing dark rimmed glasses and minimal make-up, Tempany promised some more courses were coming soon.
Tempany is also married to voice actor Brian Donovan and they share two children.
She became an American citizen in 2020, but said her dream would be to return to Australia.
"I'm trying to convince my Australian agent to get me a great job in Australia where we can move back for six months to a year," Deckert said.
"That's the dream – to convince the husband to move to Australia."

Kurier, a Vienna-based paper with around 100,000 readers, published a major Q&A spread with the Dirty Harry star on Friday. The main takeaway from the supposed interview was just how much Eastwood despised how reliant Hollywood has become on sequels and franchises. One of Eastwood's responses to a journalist's question said: 'I long for the good old days when screenwriters wrote movies like Casablanca in small bungalows on the studio lot. The answer stirred up days of debates from film buffs who argued both sides of the fence. He claims he has never given those comments to Kurier and hasn't been interviewed by anyone in the past few weeks. Instead, they were repackaged by a writer who had spoken to the actor at more than a dozen media events in the past. This meant the quotes were a compilation of statements made by the actor over the years. But Gebhart did admit that the way the article was presented as a tell-it-all exclusive chat went against his quality standards. He then said he will no longer work with the Sereda as of a result. Gebhart said: 'Even though no quotes were fabricated, the interviews are documented, and the accusation of fabrication can be refuted, we will no longer work with the author in the future ." Michael Schumacher fake AI interview torment MICHAEL Schumacher's family were paid £170,000 in compensation after a magazine published a fake AI-generated interview with the F1 racing legend. German publication Die Aktuelle claimed last April to have secured a 'world exclusive' with the severely injured Ferrari great – who has not been seen in public since his 2013 skiing accident. In a two-page spread, promoted with a picture of Schumacher, it claimed the seven-time F1 champ had said 'My life has totally changed'. It promised it was not a story based on "half-sentences from friends" but it's "the incredible interview" with the F1 star with "redeeming answers to the most burning questions that the whole world has been asking for so long." The rest of the article was written in Q&A form, with an AI chatbot designed to mimic celebrities making up the answers Michael would supposedly give. The bot even spoke about the racing hero's physical condition, family and future recovery prospects. Die Aktuelle only admitted the quotes, which used graphic details to describe his injuries, were written by a chatbot in a note on the inside pages. The shameless interview just goes to show how "poisoned" bots can be weaponised, an expert warned. Sereda is known for publishing celebrity based articles for Kurier and other Austrian media. She is also a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and listed as a voting member on the website of the Golden Globes. Sources close to Law said no interview has ever taken place and that the only time those direct quotes would have been made would have been at a press conference at the Toronto international film festival last year. A HISTORIC seaside town has been voted the "most boring" in the UK because its pier is too short and it lacks classic beach attractions. Despite featuring in a host of BBC shows, the village's barren Victorian-era jetty finished bottom of a national seaside league table. At the end of the town's pier, instead of arcades and ice cream, there lies a small collection of old photos. What is Diggerland like? THE Sun's head of travel, Caroline McGuire shares her thoughts on Diggerland. Walt Disney came up with a huge princess castle, rollercoasters and themed attractions. But just off the M2 in Rochester, some genius suggested sticking a bunch of construction vehicles in the mud at an industrial park - and it proved a blinding day out. At Diggerland, you can dig for mud, "gold bricks", stones or toy ducks in proper construction site machinery. Diggerland has to be seen to be believed - and even then it's quite hard to compute. We spent the day riding dumper trucks around a gravel pit, digging stones out of a hole with a full-sized digger and riding around a muddy concourse while seated in an enormous bucket. In fact, there are quite a few variations on each of those themes. You can dig for mud, "gold bricks", stones or toy ducks. You can drive a dumper, take a digger safari, ride backwards in a bucket carousel - somehow, they've made 20 different rides from machinery. If that doesn't suffice, there are also plenty of coin- operated (you've guessed it) car and digger rides dotted around the place. With the exception of a couple of car attractions, everything comes straight off a construction site, and if you know any young kids you'll know there lies the appeal. My son can spot a crane or a dumper truck from a mile off, so even watching others dig while waiting in the queue was mesmerising. Not that the queues were long - in fact, they were surprisingly short. The price is decent, too. Three adults and a child cost £91 in entry fees, so long as you pre-book tickets. Obviously all of the offers aren't just for families with children, several are suitable for adults like discounts off cinema tickets.
