Chris, 39, is taking no chances when it comes to he and his family's safety after it was revealed he was being harassed by a female stalker.
He has implemented a top security arrangement to put his wife of seven years' mind at ease after she was left frightened in the wake of the incident.
A source close to the pair told the Mail Online: "Particularly when [Camilla] was post-partum, she was petrified she wouldn't be able to outrun this individual.
"Normally she's unbreakable, the backbone of the family, but this has reduced her to a shell of the strong woman we all know. For Chris, watching this has been heartbreaking.
"They have invested in top-of-the-range security systems to keep the family safe."
The duo share children Wilding, five, and 18-month-old Hunter together.
The Sun were the first to reveal the heartache surrounding Chris and his family after the stalker incident left him debating whether to pull out of the BBC dance contest before it had begun.
Pals close to the England rugby legend said he had been targeted by the woman after briefly meeting her twice during work events last year, with the initial abuse starting six months after meeting him.
He called in police after the woman threatened him with violence and spread false allegations about him and other people he worked with.
The woman, who The Sun is not naming, now appears on the National Police Wanted List.

She is understood to have left the country and is being sought by cops.
With the scary incident still looming, a further source told the Mail how Camilla had asked Chris to upgrade the security detail on their leafy Surrey mansion as opposed to buying her birthday gifts.
They said: "They've talked about the idea of a security guard dog because they love their animals but also Camilla especially, would feel more protected.
"It's heartbreaking that it's come to this but that's how seriously they are taking it.
"This stalker business is no joke. She's destroyed the lives of small business owners, families, and left others thousands of pounds out of pocket.
"The claims she makes are sickening, and some of her victims have been left struggling mentally after their ordeal."
Chris, who retired from professional rugby in 2022, was announced as a contestant last week.
Those close to him revealed his ordeal started last July when he attended the same event as the woman.
She went on to make a series of disturbing and damning allegations about Chris and his wife Camilla, 39, as well as other people she worked with.
A source said: 'It's been absolutely terrible for Chris and Camilla.
'He met this woman twice, very briefly, during work events and then she started telling all sorts of awful lies about him.
'He was never alone with her and they barely spoke so he's got no idea why she targeted him."

Brian Blessed blasts ‘ignorant pigs' who put trigger warnings on Shakespeare plays

Hamlet audiences have been warned of 'coercive behaviour' and 'grief, suicide and mental illness' ACTOR Brian Blessed has howled down trigger warnings on Shakespeare plays — and he didn't bother with poetic Bard-style language by dismissing them as 'b***s'. The thunderous-voiced thespian labelled theatre bosses 'ignorant pigs'. The Sun told of Hamlet audiences being warned of 'coercive behaviour' and 'grief, suicide and mental illness' at London's National Theatre. There have also been warnings about Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. Advertisement Flash Gordon star Brian, 88, has appeared in Henry V, Macbeth and Much Ado About Nothing. He told a sci-fi convention: 'It's bs. It's f***ing Shakespeare. read more on shakespeare BARD BEHAVIOUR Shakespeare impersonator quits after being accused of making racist remarks 'He is the greatest writer on the planet. To hammer his point home, Blessed then quoted a famous line from The Tempest adding: 'Prospero said 'We are such stuff as dreams are made on and our little life is rounded with a sleep'.' It means our short lives are fleeting like dreams and therefore not real - just like the action people see in plays on a stage. Blessed made a name for himself after appearing in movies Flash Gordon, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves as well as on TV shows Z-Cars, Blackadder and I, Claudius. Fury as ‘childish' BBC axe HALF of shamed Gregg Wallace's recipes from web in ‘stupid cancellation' after MasterChef axe

HALF of Gregg Wallace's recipes have vanished from the BBC Food website — leaving many of its users steaming. Six of the fallen grocer's 11 dish ideas have been axed since he was sacked from MasterChef last month. 3 Half of Gregg Wallace's recipes have vanished from the BBC Food website including his raspberry pavlova Credit: Getty 3 Gregg's pork and apple burger recipe is one of the dishes that remains on the BBC site His 'comforting' special sausage and lentil soup, 'delightfully simple' mince pie ice-cream and a raspberry pavlova are gone. A raspberry marinated rack of lamb and a leek and potato soup are also missing since a damning report into the 60-year-old's behaviour. One site user railed at 'another stupid cancellation by the BBC'. They added: 'Whatever you think of the guy, it was hardly his recipes that were the problem.' Another, Claire, added: 'Seems childish. I'm never going to stop listening to Michael Jackson.' Ed Campbell added online: 'Can't we separate the art from the artist?' All the dishes had featured on shows Wallace fronted, as did some still on the website such as his pork and apple burger. Nearly 50 women made complaints about Wallace but the worst allegations, including groping and flashing, were not upheld. Last month, he told The Sun: 'I'm not a groper, a sex pest or a flasher. 'So much has been perceived incorrectly.' The BBC said it was standard practice to update BBC Food website recipes and those from a range of chefs had been taken down recently. 3 Wallace was sacked from MasterChef last month Credit: PA
