Apart from this, the cabinet approved shifting of the Himachal Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) office from Shimla to Dharamshala. This will be the third office to shift to Dharmashala after Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) and office of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Wildlife Wing. Relocating the office is not just to decongest Shimla but also part of a cost-cutting exercise by the government to shift offices operating from rented buildings in state's capital to vacant facilities in Dharamsala – the winter capital of Himachal Pradesh.
As in 2010, the cabinet gave its in-principle approval to start de-novo reservation roster for the members and chairpersons of Panchayati Raj Institutions. It allowed the Himachal Pradesh Forest Development Corporation to collect minor minerals and carry out dredging operations in rivers and ponds located in forest areas across the state, with the aim of better source management and environmental sustainability.
It decided to bifurcate the Elementary Education Block, Ramshahar, Solan district, by creating a new block in Baddi along with creation and filling up of the requisite posts to ensure smooth functioning. It also decided to re-organise the development blocks of Sulah, Bhawarna and Lambagaon of Kangra district and Bharanj of Hamirpur district to facilitate the people of these areas.

One seat per course reserved for orphans in technical institutions in Himachal

Calcutta high court orders WBJEE Board to publish new merit list
KOLKATA: The Calcutta high court on Thursday directed the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) Board to publish a fresh merit list of examinees, holding that the one published by the board didn't conform to the court order on reservation to the Other Backward Classes (OBC). A view of Calcutta High Court (HT FILE PHOTO) 'The WBJEE Board shall recast the merit list and publish a fresh panel, providing seven percent reservation for the 66 classes of OBC candidates as recognized by the West Bengal Backward Classes Department prior to 2010,' a bench of justice Kausik Chanda said. The bench ordered the board to complete the entire exercise within the next 15 days. The court also directed the board's registrar and the West Bengal higher education department to file compliance affidavits on the next date of hearing. The bench will hear the case after three weeks. The result of the WBJEE was previously scheduled to be published on August 7. But the results were postponed after the high court initiated a suo motu contempt case after receiving communication from some merit-listed candidates of JEMAS-PG (Joint Entrance Test for Medical and Allied Sciences Postgraduate) and WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination). 'These communications allege non-compliance with the order dated May 21, 2025, passed by this court in the present writ petition and were forwarded to the personal e-mail address of this court,' the order said. WBJEE Result 2025 postponed amid court row: What we know
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) 2025 result has been postponed, the Hindustan Times reported on Thursday. The WBJEEB Results 2025 was scheduled to be declared on Thursday. The new result date is yet to announced. The results were delayed yet again due to contempt proceedings initiated against the state in the high court, Times Now reported. Justice Kausik Chanda of the Calcutta High Court reportedly received complaints from merit‑listed candidates via email in the JEMAS‑PG (medical postgraduate) exam as well as from the WBJEE Board itself, prompting the court to act suo motu. 'WBJEE 2025 result has been put on hold due to the fresh contempt proceedings filed after some students reached out to Justice Kausik Chanda. The High Court has stated that the Supreme Court has not stayed the order passed by the HC on May 21, 2024, regarding the OBC reservation,' reported. The next hearing is scheduled at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 7, 2025. The Principal Secretary of Higher Education, West Bengal, has been directed to appear in court to clarify the state's position. The results have already been delayed by over a month due to legal proceedings. Earlier in July, board chairperson Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee had said it was ready to publish the results on June 5, but subsequent legal proceedings over the OBC reservation policy has delayed the whole process. The road was cleared last month following a Supreme Court order staying the Calcutta High Court decision to halt the implementation of a revised list of OBCs notified by the state government. WBJEE board chairperson Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee said that results will be declared on August 7, news agency PTI reported. 'From today [July 31], candidates will have to upload details about their caste category certificate in the relevant section of WBJEE portal till August 2. The board will sort out the data and incorporate updates of every candidate before coming up with the results,' she had reportedly said. "We are sure the process [of uploading details] will be over by the stipulated time and the results will be published on August 7," the WBJEEB chairperson told PTI. However, the result declaration has been further delayed. A confirmation regarding the new result date is awaited. The state-level WBJEEB was conducted on April 27 in two shifts- from 11 am to 1 pm, and from 2 pm to 4 pm.
