Huntsville man dies in Morgan County wreck
May 24—A Huntsville man died in Morgan County on Saturday morning in a single-vehicle wreck, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Jeremy S. Lumpkin, 39, was fatally injured when the 2009 Lexus RX SUV he was driving left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree. Lumpkin, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, ALEA said.
The crash occurred at 10:55 a.m. on Alabama 67 near Ryan Loop Road, about 3 miles north of Hulaco.

A missing persons report was filed on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, and he was placed on the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Missing Persons List as a missing adult on Dec. 23. The Huntsville Police Department and ALEA upgraded the missing adult alert for Dumas to a missing and endangered person alert on Feb. 7, saying he 'is believed to have been abducted and in danger of bodily harm or death.' Andrews, the family's private investigator, has now created a GoFundMe to support Dumas' kids as they head into the summer months. 'Ronnie is a dedicated father who loves his children, and he was involved in every aspect of their lives right up until the moment he was taken away from them,' the GoFundMe reads. Kai is 12, Lindsi is 6 and Ryili is 4. 'Kai turns 13 on June 11th, and he wants to celebrate at the Lego store. Kai, Lindsi, and Ryili would all like to go to summer camp this year, and from personal experience, I know how beneficial that would be for them! Summer camp alone for the 3 kids will be a few thousand dollars, but it will be worth every penny to bring these children some joy and moments of peace,' Andrews wrote. ALL funds raised will go directly toward helping the kids feel some sense of normalcy while their mothers and other family members continue to help them navigate this crisis. Woman dies in Monroe County crash
MONROE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A Walnut Hill, Florida, woman has died after a crash in Monroe County that happened on Thursday, May 15, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Decatur man facing domestic violence charge after alleged assault
Jun. 2—A man was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with first degree domestic violence after allegedly breaking into an apartment in Southwest Decatur and physically assaulting a person inside, according to the Decatur Police Department. Kobe Malik Cowan, 20, of Decatur was being held in Morgan County Jail with no bond pending an Aniah's Law hearing. Police said they responded to a domestic disturbance at 2222 Acadia Drive S.W. around 12:53 a.m. and determined that Cowan had unlawfully entered and remained inside the apartment before assaulting the victim. He was later located by a patrol officer and taken into custody. Cowan has been out on bond for a prior felony charge of second-degree receiving stolen property involving a firearm stolen from Bama Pawn, according to a police affidavit. — or 256-340-2442.
