Jean-Claude Van Damme accused of having sex with victims of sex trafficking
According to CNN affiliate, Antena 3, the 64-year-old martial artist-turned-actor, best known for his roles in Kickboxer, Double Impact and Street Fighter, is reportedly facing legal action in Romania for knowingly having sex with several women who were victims of sex trafficking.
The actor allegedly met with several people also under investigation for sex trafficking crimes who offered to let him have sex with five Romanian models as a "gift." One of these people is believed to be Romanian businessman and modeling agency owner Morel Bolea.
This alleged incident is said to have taken place in Cannes and a timeframe was not noted.
Adrian Cuculis, the lawyer of one of the alleged victims, stated: 'At an event organised by Jean-Claude Van Damme in Cannes, several Romanians, who are currently under investigation for forming a criminal group and pimping, allegedly offered Jean-Claude Van Damme five Romanian women - photo models in Romania - for sex.'
He added: 'The person who received these services was aware of their condition.'
According to Cuculis, the incident involving Jean-Claude Van Damme is part of a larger investigation launched in 2020 by the Romanian prosecutor's office into trafficking in human beings and minors.
Considering the location of the alleged acts, the French Court de Cassation has to authorise the initiation of criminal proceedings so that the suspects can be summoned to Romania.

'Street Fighter' Drops First Look at Cody Rhodes' Guile
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The hype for the upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie has officially begun. A cryptic social media post from one of the film's stars, comedian Andrew Schulz, has sent the wrestling world into a frenzy with a potential early look at Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in his new role. On Sunday, August 17, Schulz posted a still image to his Instagram Story showing a shadowy figure on a sidewalk. Cody Rhodes' iconic entrance music, "Kingdom," was playing in the background. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match Cody Rhodes' Street Fighter Tease The post from Andrew Schulz, who is set to play the comedic character Dan Hibiki in the film, was a clear and deliberate tease. The caption accompanied the photo: "A NEW WARRIOR HAS ENTERED..." — a direct reference to the classic character selection screen from the Street Fighter video games. The timing of the post has fans buzzing. Filming for the movie is not scheduled to begin until September, so it is unlikely that the image is an official still from the set. This has led fans to speculate whether it was an early costume test reveal or simply a calculated marketing drop to begin building anticipation for the film. First teaser at Cody Rhodes as Guile in upcoming live-action #StreetFighter film. Are you excited? 💭 Source: — Screen Rant (@screenrant) August 18, 2025 Cody Rhodes Becomes Guile It was reported in July by Deadline that Cody Rhodes has been cast as the iconic, all-American hero, Guile, in the 2026 film from Legendary and Sony. "The American Nightmare's" patriotic persona makes him a natural fit for the role of the heroic Air Force major. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - APRIL 20: Cody Rhodes is introduced before his match against John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship during WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium on April 20, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - APRIL 20: Cody Rhodes is introduced before his match against John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship during WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium on April 20, 2025 in Las Vegas, is not the only WWE superstar in the film. His legendary rival, Roman Reigns, has been cast as the powerful and villainous Akuma. The movie will also feature a star-studded cast including Jason Momoa as Blanka and David Dastmalchian as the main antagonist, M. Bison. This early teaser is a perfect example of the cross-promotional synergy between WWE and a major Hollywood production. With their reigning Undisputed WWE Champion in a lead role, WWE will likely be heavily involved in the marketing for the film. For Cody Rhodes, who just won his championship back in a triumphant main event at SummerSlam, a starring role in a massive blockbuster film is another major step in his journey to becoming a mainstream superstar. While it is unclear what the teaser truly means, it has successfully ignited excitement for the Street Fighter film and Cody's role in it. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
