
Bernama Aces win first DRB-HICOM Media Pickleball title
Competing under the name Bernama Aces, the pair outplayed 27 other teams from various media organisations to make history as the tournament's first-ever winners.
In the final, Bernama Aces defeated fellow Bernama team Bernama Pickles, comprising Mohamed Syamsul Adlien and Muhammad Khairi Azwan Mohd Kamal, while TV3 Colour Bar secured third place.
'We're truly excited and grateful for this victory. Although it was our first time playing in a pickleball tournament, our teamwork and basic training really paid off,' said Ahmad Aidil Syukri when met after the final.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Syabil noted that the tournament was not only physically challenging but also provided an excellent opportunity to foster camaraderie among media professionals and the organisers.
The tournament aimed to promote sportsmanship and closer networking between media practitioners and corporate entities.
It was supported by DRB-HICOM as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle among media personnel.

'I am grateful that Tunku Putera achieved a good result this time and hope that he and his brother (Tunku Panglima) will continue to give strong competition in tomorrow's second race,' the post read. Also in attendance at today's race were Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah, as well as Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim and her husband, Datuk Dennis Muhammad Abdullah. Both Johor Motorsports Racing (JMR) Corvette Z06 GT3.R cars will start tomorrow's second race from the front row after claiming first (car #99) and second (car #66) positions in this morning's qualifying round. JBPM wins 19 gold medals at World Police and Fire Games 2025
SEPANG: The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) made the nation proud by bagging 19 gold medals at the Birmingham 2025 World Police and Fire Games (WPFG 2025). The event, held in Alabama, USA, from June 30 to July 5, saw the 34-member team also securing 17 silver and 10 bronze medals. Tenpin bowling was JBPM's strongest event, contributing seven gold medals. Golf followed closely with six golds, while darts and bodybuilding each added three to the tally. Notably, this was JBPM's first time competing in bodybuilding, and their three gold medals in the category have sparked enthusiasm for future participation. Silver medals were dominated by golf with eight, followed by tenpin bowling (six), darts (two), and one from the push-pull and bench press event. The bronze medals came from tenpin bowling (six), golf (three), and darts (one). JBPM director-general Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad praised the team's discipline and fighting spirit, which he said were key to their success. Ipoh to host National Sports Day 2025 with exciting new events
IPOH: For the first time in over a decade, the National Sports Day 2025 (HSN 2025) will be held outside the Klang Valley, with Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah in Ipoh, Perak selected as the main venue. Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abdul Halim announced the decision, citing the strong response to last year's Perak state-level event. The three-day celebration, scheduled from October 10 to 12, will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Adam Adli highlighted the impressive turnout in Ipoh during the previous state-level event, expressing optimism that the national-level celebration will attract even greater participation. In addition to HSN 2025, the KBS Masters Games 2025 will expand its offerings, increasing the number of sports from 12 to 19.
