Two of the AFL's biggest stars texted their coaches with an alarming message - and now you can see their VERY revealing responses

Daily Mail25-06-2025
AFL stars Steele Sidebottom and Rory Lobb were recently asked to text their respective coaches on the spot with a request that should have set off alarm bells - and the responses spoke volumes about the two club bosses.
As part of a prank on Channel Nine's show Players, Collingwood veteran Sidebottom and Western Bulldogs utility Lobb messaged Craig McRae and Luke Beveridge to see if they could borrow their cars for three days with zero explanation.
Both were unsure what the response would be, and Lobb was visibly shocked that Beveridge - who has a reputation as a hard taskmaster - was so accommodating.
'Of course Lobby,' was Beveridge's simple reply, which came with a laughing emoji.
Lobb took the emoji to mean his coach might have thought the text wasn't 100 per cent on the level.
'He said he was about to drive it over to me. Feel like he knows I'm a bit of a larrikin,' Lobb said.
'I think he knew that I was taking the p**s because I do that a little bit.'
McRae's detailed reply to Sidebottom summed up his caring nature.
'Are you OK? Of course mate, you can have it as long as you need,' he began.
'I've got a guy at Ringwood Mazda (car dealership) who can get you a car if you need one longer.
'Let me know where you want me to drop it (off). Please no burnouts, I've seen you drive. Hope everything is OK.'
In April, Lobb sported the AFL's worst haircut - an eye-catching electric-blue dye job - ahead of the 100-year anniversary clash against Collingwood at the MCG.
The towering footy star then made that bizarre look tame in comparison by revealing a bright-red lobster dyed on his newly bleached locks.
It comes as Sidebottom, 34, continues to palm away father time.
He is edging towards 350 career games and has been a standout for the ladder- leading Magpies all year.
Meanwhile, McRae showed his emotional side last month in an interview following the sudden passing of Adam Selwood.
'There's no book written on this stuff. We got the news and it was horrible,' McRae said as he fought back tears in a press conference after a win over Adelaide.
'We didn't really know what to do to be honest, other than maybe give it space to see where it fits with all of us.
'It's horrible, there is such sadness....'I just want to send my love to the (entire) Selwood family.'

South Africa spinner Subrayen cited for suspect bowling action

MELBOURNE, Aug 21 (Reuters) - South Africa spinner Prenelan Subrayen has been reported for a suspect bowling action in the first ODI against Australia, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said. The ICC said match officials reported concerns about the legality of the off-spinner's action during his ODI debut in Cairns on Tuesday where he took 1-46 in the Proteas' 98-run win. Subrayen must undergo an independent assessment of his action at an ICC-accredited testing facility within 14 days. He can continue bowling until the results of his test are known. Bowlers are permitted 15 degrees of elbow extension while delivering the ball. Reuters contacted Cricket South Africa for comment. The 31-year-old Subrayen has a record of bowling illegally in domestic and T20 cricket. He was suspended from bowling in domestic cricket in late-2015 after failing an assessment but was cleared to resume after another test a few months later. He was also suspended in late-2012 over his action but cleared to bowl again in early-2013 after remedial work. Subrayen made his test cricket debut last month against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, picking up four first-innings wickets.

Christian 'Prince' Wilkins reveals X-rated detail about his sex life

Christian 'Prince' Wilkins dropped a hint about his sex life during a podcast interview on Wednesday. The 29-year-old son of entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins had the raunchy discussion with Dan Brophy on his show In The Name Of The Diva. The pair debated if Kylie Minogue 's hit All The Lovers is about having sex with someone who is well-endowed, with Christian hinting he may have experience in that department. 'This is a deep state conspiracy theory of mine...,' Dan said as he kicked off the discussion. Christian appeared unconvinced by the theory, as he responded with: 'How did we get there?' 'She is saying, "Of all the lovers who have gone before, that no one compares to you. Don't be frightened, just give me a little bit more,"' Dan explained. 'Okay,' Christian said with a smile as he began to come around to Dan's side of things. The host then continued to quote the lyrics of the song, saying: '"When you get too close it burns. It hurts." You know?' Christian quickly joked he has experienced the act, before telling Dan there is 'a case' for his theory. Christian is known for his brazen aura, frequently drumming up controversy over his unapologetic and gender-bending fashion choices. In 2022, he attended the Logies wearing a dress, but the bold and fashionable act was met with horrific comments from cruel online trolls. At the time, the socialite told ABC's Insight he received thousands of awful comments after he dared to defy gender stereotypes by sporting a gown on the red carpet. 'People [were] telling me to OD, people telling me that I'm a disgrace,' Christian said. 'I mean, I was very surprised to find out that the patriarchy was so flimsy that it could be taken down by a piece of white silk.' He also praised his parents, entertainment guru Richard Wilkins and flight attendant Michelle Burke, for continually supporting his gender expression. 'As a kid, I always, kind of, loved anything that was pink and sparkly… I was never necessarily encouraged to wear dresses,' he explained. 'But my parents said, if I wanted to, they would absolutely allow me to.' However, Christian appeared unwilling to court the drama this year, as he decided to skip the 2025 Logies red carpet and headed straight for the after party. While his father, Richard, 71, dressed in a tux, and posed alongside the media wall with some celebrity buddies, Christian opted not to attend the Sydney ceremony. Instead, Christian dressed up to the nines at home, ready to party into the night with his A-lister friends. In photos shared on Instagram, Christian showed off his look for the night, which included a skimpy, black and white sequin top that flashed lots of skin. Christian also had a full face of makeup, courtesy of a celebrity makeup artist, and had his blonde locks styled.

Tammy Hembrow's son rushed to hospital after shock accident

Tammy Hembrow 's 10-year-old son Wolf has been rushed to hospital following an accident at school camp. The Gold Coast -based influencer shared a clip to social media on Thursday detailing the harrowing ordeal. 'We just got out of the emergency room, I dropped Wolf to camp this morning and not long after I got a call saying to come to the hospital,' Tammy began. She then revealed the full extent of her son's injuries and how the accident occurred. 'He had cut up his face a bit, he headbutted a metal frame on a bunk bed,' she added, and then reassured her fans her son was recovering. 'I feel really bad he is missing camp because he has been talking about this for so long! He had stitches, glue and a metal bit through his mouth! But we had a good day despite being in the hospital pretty much all day.' On Wednesday, Tammy was seen crying as she dropped her 10-year-old son Wolf off at school camp. Tammy, who is currently dating AFL star Bailey Smith, shed tears in her Bentley following the milestone moment. The 31-year-old was in full mum mode as she earlier carried her daughter Posy, three, from the luxury car and helped her son fit his sleeping bag into his backpack. She cut a casual figure in a pair of white sweatpants and a cropped navy blue sweater. Buzzing with excitement, Tammy's little boy couldn't wait for the school adventure as he carried his pillow, Batman suitcase and rucksack, which his mum lovingly helped pack. However, it was the moment after Tammy had waved goodbye to her firstborn that set the social media star off. The content creator could be seen sitting in her car, wiping away tears as her son left for the school camp. Tammy shares son Wolf and daughter Saskia with ex-fiancé Reece Hawkins, while her youngest Posy she shares with Matt Poole, whom she was also engaged to. In the past couple of weeks she has been spotted on two dates with footy star Bailey. The 24-year-old, who plays for the Geelong Cats in Victoria, has flown to the Gold Coast two weekends in a row to spend time with Tammy. The couple were first seen leaving hand in hand after a meal at swanky Asian fusion restaurant Rick Shores at Burleigh Heads before being caught making out at another restaurant. The pair were more recently spotted enjoying a romantic stroll to Nobby's Beach, where the footy player appeared to have his arm wrapped around Tammy's hips. Tammy and Matt Zukowski announced they were ending their marriage two months ago in separate social media posts. Since then, Matt has admitted he felt 'hurt' watching his former partner move on so quickly with Bailey after their break-up. The Love Island star also hinted that he was the one to end things between them, despite speculation it was Tammy who took the lead.
