Salman Khan's ex-girlfriend Somy Ali hits back at trolls for backing Faissal Khan in feud with Aamir Khan: ‘He's of sound mind and absolutely stable'
's ex-girlfriend and former actor-model
Somy Ali
took to Instagram to respond to backlash she has been receiving for supporting
Faissal Khan
over his
family feud
with his brother
Aamir Khan
. She clarified that extending help to someone in difficult times does not equate to hypocrisy, even if that person may have spoken ill of her in the past.
'I have been getting a lot of heat for supporting Faissal. I want you all to know that just because someone speaks ill of you, it doesn't mean you drop the ball on them during their hard times. There is no hypocrisy here,' she wrote in a long note.
On her stand
Somy further explained that what Faissal had previously said about her was 'none of her business,' but how she reacts to his struggles is her own decision. 'I will support and stand by him or anyone else who is going through rough times,' she added.
Clarifying her equation with
Aamir
Khan, Somy mentioned that she doesn't know him well enough to comment. 'We did one photoshoot and we were both very professional. Aside from exchanging pleasantries we didn't say a word and just did the shoot and left.'
Faissal Khan alleges Aamir Khan 'imprisoned' him citing schizophrenia
Backed by psychology background
Somy, who holds a degree in psychology, shared that she had worked in a psychiatric hospital during her internship. Referring to Faissal's earlier claims, she said, 'I watched Faissal's interviews, conclusively he's of sound mind and absolutely stable.
I used to give schizophrenia medication to patients during my internship. That has dire consequences if a person is not suffering from schizophrenia. That doesn't sit well with my ethics or my moral compass.
'
'None of us are perfect'
Ending her note, Somy shut down those accusing her of hypocrisy, stressing that her upbringing compels her to stand by people in distress. 'As long as no one has physically harmed me and they are in trouble, and I know they are in the right I will speak up for them. People get hurt and say things which I did, but now he's in trouble and I will support any of you if it came to that including Faissal. None of us are perfect and I know I am not.
I simply have the fortitude to say something.'

Arjun Kapoor disables comments section on Instagram after being trolled for his 2017 viral video, here's what happened
Talking about being trolled, the actor said in an interview, 'I am quite thick-skinned about it because I have realised it's a clickbait culture.' Arjun Kapoor has disabled his comment section on Instagram. The reason is a clip that has gone viral on social media which shows the actor blankly staring at a reporter during the promotions of his 2017 film Half Girlfriend. It's now sparked a massive meme-fest. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Talking about being trolled, the actor said in an interview, 'I am quite thick-skinned about it because I have realised it's a clickbait culture. If you go to all these pages where they write about me or tag me, they get a lot more traction.' He added. " There is a certain amount of joy they get from pulling in an audience because they use my name. I am an easy target in that sense. I have taken things in my stride in the past and not really hit back. I take criticism well, so people take undue advantage of that." On the perception in the industry However, the perception is that I am someone's son, and that became stronger during the Covid era because people needed a scapegoat. Perception bhut kamini cheez hoti hai (Perception is a very deceptive thing), which I've only now realised in the last two years. I tried hard not to get bothered. I'm thick-skinned, but it does affect me. I attempted every genre; I'm not saying I was good in every film. But I've seen my contemporaries become consistent after being inconsistent. Speaking about the most challenging part of being an actor, Arjun said, 'I think the most challenging aspect now is the ability to make choices to take risks and not be scared of failure or worry about 'log kya kahenge'. It's about still feeling those butterflies in your stomach. The challenge is to not play it safe. The current environment has made most of us a bit comfortable because there's a constant fear of reviews, reports, and whether a film will work. When I did Finding Fanny, I didn't overthink it. I liked the concept and the director's vision, so we made it happen.' STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD
