Teachers Who Are Fed Up With Parents Not Taking Part In Their Child's Education — Tell Us What You Wish They'd Do
As a former high school English teacher, I can list all the ways I thought I'd see parents get involved in their child's education — and all the ways it rarely happened.
It's unfortunately not an uncommon experience for educators. So I'm asking teachers (past and present) in our BuzzFeed Community to share ways they wish parents took on a more active role in their child's education.

Maybe you, like me, used to teach English literature, and found yourself sending progress reports home regularly for students falling behind. However, no one seemed to respond until report cards hit their mailbox. Then, several parents wanted to know what extra credit opportunities could be made available for their kid who was missing dozens of assignments.

Maybe you're an elementary school teacher, and one of your students keeps getting physical with others. Not only is it flat-out mean, but it's also a distraction in the classroom. You've tried to host guided conversations with the parents about techniques that could curb the behavior at home, but the parents refuse to believe it's happening at all.
Or, maybe there's a student in your class who is never IN class. Their parent pulls them out of school for vacations monthly. And while you love that the kid is getting to live their best life, it's very hard to keep them on track, and you wish their parents could at least keep them up to date on their studies while abroad.

Cyrus is in Paris to promote her latest visual album, "Something Beautiful," and its accompanying film, which premiered earlier this month at the Tribeca Film Festival. As part of the promotional tour, she performed at Spotify's Billions Club Live, hosted at Maxim's de Paris, where she sang two of her biggest hits, "The Climb" and "We Can't Stop." She took the stage in a vintage 1992 sequined Mugler minidress, which mixed light and dark shades of blue. When discussing her latest album on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in May, Cyrus opened up about how filming one of the music videos for her visual album ended with her in the ICU after her "leg began to disintegrate" after filming. "And then the doctor goes, 'Do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?'' she said on the show. "To have a surgeon look at you and say, 'Yuck.' … They open up cadavers. They see inside the guts of humans, and they're looking at me, telling me I'm disgusting. And they do brain operations."

Fan-Favorite Disney Plus MCU Series Reportedly Canceled
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has turned into an ever-expanding franchise with a thriving continuity tied to dozens of beloved films and shows. The studio isn't always eager to renew some of its properties, however, and now one Disney Plus series tied to the MCU has been reportedly canceled. Cancellations are always frustrating, especially when it comes to fan-favorite TV shows, and streaming services like Disney Plus must frequently make decisions regarding which shows they renew or outright cancel. Now, after a silence from the studio, it looks like one series has been canceled without any fanfare. As explained by a new report, the cancellation when asked whether or not fans could expect to see new episodes of the series which last saw a release in 2024. Here's what TVLine shared: 'I'm hearing that there are no new episodes of the Disney+ franchise planned at this time,' he answered. His response refers to Marvel Studios: Assembled , a TV series that aired on Disney Plus with each episode diving into the making of various MCU projects. With so many new movies having been released in the last few years, there are certainly plenty of stories worth telling in the series, but it looks like that's no longer the plan. The last episode of Marvel Studios: Assembled released was in November 2024, and it tackled the making of Agatha All Along . While there are still other projects having been released recently like Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts , both of which would be perfect for episodes on the series, that's seemingly not going to happen. As of this writing, Marvel Studios: Assembled only consists of 22 episodes. While MCU fans were delighted by the Disney Plus series, the decision to have it canceled may be baffling, though it seems to be an example of the studio's efforts to downsize their output. After all, they want to make Disney Plus more successful, and adding too much Marvel content both saturates their catalogue and increases costs. Of course, we could always see a comeback for the series in the future, so we'll have to see what happens on that front. Hopefully this isn't the last we see of Marvel Studios: Assembled . For fans hoping that the more recent MCU releases would be receiving episodes, however, it looks like you shouldn't hold your breath.
