Razakar wins big at Dada Saheb Phalke film festival
'Razakar (Silent Genocide of Hyderabad)', a film produced by Gudur Narayana Reddy, bagged two awards at the 15th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival held in New Delhi on Thursday (May 1).
The film won awards for Best Debut Director and Best Cinematography, recognising its stark portrayal of Operation Polo and the annexation of the princely state of Hyderabad into the Indian Union in 1948.
Directed by Yata Satyanarayana, the film revisits the events leading to the integration of Hyderabad under the leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, following a military intervention against the Razakars, the Nizam's private militia.

A towering ornate crown by Deepa Gurnani and a delicate pearl necklace by Izzari complete her divine queen aesthetic.(Photo: Tejas Nerurkar) 'Fashion, for me, is a statement of who you are and what your personality is. My fashion is all about comfort. On my off duty days, you will see me in easy going streetwear, because that's what my personality is. My style automatically reflects my personality. I don't pay much attention to using it to break out of an image, because fashion needs to be close to who you are,' she says. Outfit: JJ Valaya | Jewellery: Shree Jee Jewellers | She dazzles in JJ Valaya's maroon gown, adorned with antique gold and silver metallic embroidery, dabka work, and sequins. The ensemble features exquisite jewelled accents with kundans and kasab embroidery, and delicate gota tapes in the inner layer. The regal look is completed by a grand gold bird-inspired headpiece from Deepa Gurnani and a striking green choker from Shree Jee Jewellers.(Photo: Tejas Nerurkar) Rakul Preet Singh adds, 'If you are authentic to who you are, in the way you dress and if your styling screams of your individuality, it will create a mark of its own. The idea is not to create a mark but to stay authentic through my fashion.' Outfit: Nidhika Shekhar | Jewellery: ASV Polkis | Draped in a visionary black saree by Nidhika Shekhar, Rakul looks glamorous in its fully embellished corset and intricately cutwork pre-draped pallu. The look is elevated with ASV Polkis' Noor-e-Nizam necklace—a pastel-hued masterpiece featuring carved green stones, round morganites, and a striking Russian emerald cabochon at the centre.(Photo: Tejas Nerurkar) As she shot for her in the fantasy shoot, ask her about her experience and she says, 'When I saw the references, I thought it might be a bit too much for me, but the way it all turned out, it was amazing to see. Great fashion gives you access to doing things that you wouldn't do on an everyday basis. It was quite unique delving into the whole vibe.' Outfit: Moledro | Jewellery: Omara Fine Jewellery's | Rakul Preet stuns in Moledro's blush-toned gown. It features a sculpted corset bodice and a cascading silhouette, embellished with delicate handwork and soft shimmer. Paired with Omara Fine Jewellery's sea-horse-inspired pink sapphire choker, the look is elegant, romantic, and striking.(Photo: Tejas Nerurkar) Discuss her take on experimenting with her style and she says, 'I like to experiment with my outfits and styling, but it has to be within the parameters of what I believe in and what I think I can carry. I am not someone who would go to extremes and not be comfortable with it. Be it the outfits, accessories, make up or anything, I play around with it till the time it doesn't take away from my authenticity.' Outfit: Jayanti Reddy | Jewellery: Kishandas & Co. | Rakul shimmers in a Jayanti Reddy anarkali with intricate beige-gold sequin embroidery. The plunging neckline is perfectly balanced by a sculptural dried-floral crown from Deepa Gurnani and a bold green choker by Kishandas & Co., radiating earthy opulence and divine allure.(Photo: Tejas Nerurkar) But does she prefer traditional fashion or modern contemporary style? 'I am more inclined towards modern contemporary fashion as my style is more streetwear. That comes naturally to me. I don't try to amalgamate it with traditional fashion, as I believe there is an occasion for both to be adorned individually, and I carry traditional as well as I do modern fashion. It's always best to dress for the occasion,' she responds. Outfit: Falguni Shane Peacock | Jewellery: Shree Jee Jewellers | Rakul stuns in a black velvet robe richly embroidered with floral and jewel-toned motifs by Falguni Shane Peacock, layered over a sheer embellished dress. The look blends regal elegance with dramatic flair, elevated by a sequinned statement hat from Deepa Gurnani and dainty layered necklaces from Shree Jee Jewellers.(Photo: Tejas Nerurkar) Taking place today and tomorrow at Taj Palace, New Delhi, the FDCI Wedding Weekend highlights the best of wedding fashion. HHVM actor Anasuya Bharadwaj reacts to those criticising her dressing as a mother: ‘Bold does not equate disrespect'
Pushpa and Hari Hara Veera Mallu actor Anasuya Bharadwaj took to her social media to pen a note 'clearly without anger', addressing those who have spoken out against her. Recently, the actor noted that she saw a few individuals criticising the way she dresses, particularly because she is a mother. Asking them not to judge her for 'simply living life', she urged people to learn how to accept differences instead of targeting her. Anasuya Bharadwaj was recently criticised for dressing 'boldly' despite being a mother of two. Anasuya Bharadwaj on being criticised Anasuya began her note by stating that she often remains silent these days, but she felt compelled to speak out against this 'clearly' and 'without anger'. She added that she noticed a few women speakers going around on social media channels and targeting her specifically. She mentioned that she does not know them, and yet, they feel free to get personal. Anasuya then added, 'Yes, I am a woman, a wife, and a mother of two, I also enjoy dressing in a way that reflects my personal style. Glamour, style, and confidence have always been integral to my identity. Some believe that this doesn't align with being a mother, I want to pose a question: Does becoming a mother mean giving up your true self?' She also wrote of how her family supports her without judgement, 'My family – my husband and children – love me for who I am. They do not judge me; they support me. That is what truly matters. I recognise that some may not be accustomed to this level of openness, and that's perfectly fine. However, let's not mistake choice for negative influence.' Anasuya mentioned that her sons are witnessing her as a woman who is 'confident, kind, respectful, and unashamed of herself.' 'Being bold does not equate to being disrespectful. Dressing in the way I enjoy does not mean I have lost my values,' she added. She also mentioned that she does not want anyone to follow her example and just hopes no one judges her for living her life. She ended the note with, 'If we can learn to accept our differences without resorting to attacks, we will all be able to coexist more peacefully. I will continue to live proudly, lovingly, and unapologetically, while always maintaining respect for others.' What happened Recently, a journalist called Durga Vadlamani spoke about Anasuya in an interview with Tree Media Digital. She said, 'Anasuya loves to say everyone is trolling her. Why would anyone do that? No one else is getting trolled. You are willingly dressing like that in front of your sons to get trolled. But okay, that's your personal life. Why would you dress like that on a show, also?' She also spoke about 'values' and how Anasuya lacks them while doing TV shows. Anasuya most recently played Dakshayani in Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa 2: The Rule. She also starred in Razakar – Silent Genocide of Hyderabad and featured in the song Kollagottinadhiro in Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit.
