Razakar wins big at Dada Saheb Phalke film festival
'Razakar (Silent Genocide of Hyderabad)', a film produced by Gudur Narayana Reddy, bagged two awards at the 15th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival held in New Delhi on Thursday (May 1).
The film won awards for Best Debut Director and Best Cinematography, recognising its stark portrayal of Operation Polo and the annexation of the princely state of Hyderabad into the Indian Union in 1948.
Directed by Yata Satyanarayana, the film revisits the events leading to the integration of Hyderabad under the leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, following a military intervention against the Razakars, the Nizam's private militia.

Pushpa and Hari Hara Veera Mallu actor Anasuya Bharadwaj took to her social media to pen a note 'clearly without anger', addressing those who have spoken out against her. Recently, the actor noted that she saw a few individuals criticising the way she dresses, particularly because she is a mother. Asking them not to judge her for 'simply living life', she urged people to learn how to accept differences instead of targeting her. Anasuya Bharadwaj was recently criticised for dressing 'boldly' despite being a mother of two. Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan in the leading role, has recorded the best opening for the actor in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana; however, it still fell short of its true potential. Hari Hara Veera Mallu turns 6th biggest opener in the Telugu states The Pawan Kalyan film emerged as the 6th biggest opener in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, surpassing SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 and Ram Charan's Game Changer. However, it remained behind Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, which is still ruling at the top spot, followed by RRR, Devera, Kalki 2898 AD, and Salaar in the home states. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and AM Jyothi Krishna, Hari Hara Veera Mallu grossed over Rs 45.50 crore on its first day in the twin states.
