Photo byThe 18-year-old five-star recruit was driving back from the gym last Thursday in his Tesla Cybertruck before he "lost control." He was driving in Reseda, a town in Los Angeles County in the San Fernando Valley area.
After the accident occurred, he was transported to a hospital and put into an induced coma due to his inhalation of smoke. Arenas was taken out of the coma a few days later, and it was revealed that he did not suffer any "major injuries."
His father, Gilbert, shared the news on his podcast "No Chill with Gilbert Arenas."
Aliaja had recently committed to USC. He was the No. 13-ranked recruit in his class of 2025 after reclassifying in December 2024 and committed to the Trojans in January 2025.
The five-star prospect attended Chatsworth High School in L.A. and led his team to the final of the Division II championships. The senior stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 197 pounds according to ESPN 100. Arenas was also recruited by Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, and his father's alma mater, Arizona.
