As the technology industry is expanding quickly, one company is presenting itself as a real competitor to the giants of the sector, Apple and Microsoft. Due to their investments and innovations, they will have a valuation of $4 trillion. The company is Nvidia. The world's most valuable company is Nvidia. Recently, the company that makes AI chips became the first publicly traded firm to reach a valuation of $4trillion.
No one has previously achieved this milestone before. No other company has achieved this before. However, China's PetroChina was the first company to become a trillion-dollar company. PetroChina had a market cap of 1 trillion dollars in 2007. Today, its market cap is 21.747 billion dollars and is the 66th most valuable company in the world. India's most valuable company is Reliance Industries at 24.309 billion and is the 53rd most valuable in the world.
Trillion-dollar companies:

After PetroChina, the next group of trillion-dollar companies took 11 years to occur. In 2018, Apple and Amazon accomplished this. Next, Saudi Aramco and Microsoft did so in 2019. The following year, in 2020, Google's parent company, Alphabet, followed that trend. Then, in 2021, Meta and Tesla joined the group. Nvidia entered this group in 2023, and in 2024, was joined by Berkshire Hathaway, Taiwan's TSMC, and Broadcom, an American company.
However, Saudi Aramco became the first 2 trillion dollar company in 2019. Apple also became this milestone in 2020. Microsoft and Alphabet became 2 trillion dollar companies in 2021. Last year, in 2024, Nvidia and Amazon also reached this milestone. So far there are only three companies that have reached the 3 trillion dollar club, Apple in 2022, and then Microsoft and Nvidia both in 2024. This year, Nvidia became the first and only company to reach 4 trillion dollars in market cap.

Donald Trump signals over 10% tariffs in India-US trade deal framework

United States (US) President Donald Trump has said that a trade deal with India would be on the 'same line' as that with Indonesia, which will face a 19 per cent tariff – thus suggesting that India, too, may have to brace for tariffs exceeding the 10 per cent threshold under the proposed interim agreement. On Tuesday, Trump said the bilateral trade pact with Indonesia would result in tariff- and non-tariff-barrier-free access for US goods to the Indonesian market. In exchange, Indonesia will face a 19 per cent tariff on its exports to the US, down from the 32 per cent initially proposed last week. 'We have a couple of those deals that are going to be announced. India basically is working along that same line (as Indonesia). We're going to have access to India; and you have to understand, we had no access into any of these countries. Our people couldn't go in. Now we're getting access because of what we're doing with the tariffs,' Trump told reporters. Trade economist Biswajit Dhar said the 10 per cent base tariff is likely to remain, and India should prepare for higher duties. 'I don't think the 10 per cent tariff will go away. That's the bottom line, with which Trump is negotiating. The rest is up to the President,' he said. 'We should get a deal which doesn't include our sensitive sectors, such as agriculture and dairy. We need to protect our main cereals and the (US) push for exporting GM (genetically modified) crops.' Ajay Srivastava, a former trade ministry official and founder of the Delhi-based think tank Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI), warned against rushed negotiations and emphasised the importance of transparency. India must negotiate transparently, guard against one-sided outcomes, and not succumb to pressure for quick, symbolic agreements that compromise its long-term economic interests, he said. 'India must insist on a jointly issued, written statement before acknowledging any agreement. Verbal assurances or informal understandings --especially those announced on social media -- are no substitute for formal, verified commitments.' A team of officials from New Delhi is currently in Washington to negotiate an interim trade agreement ahead of the August 1 deadline. India has been pressing for an exemption from Washington's proposed 26 per cent reciprocal tariff and the existing additional 10 per cent duty. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that as part of the deal, Indonesia has committed to buying $15 billion in US energy, $4.5 billion in American agricultural products, and 50 Boeing jets, including several 777s. 'For the first time ever, our ranchers, farmers, and fishermen will have complete and total market access to the Indonesian market of over 280 million people,' Trump wrote. 'If there is any transhipment from a higher tariff country, then that tariff will be added on to the tariff that Indonesia is paying,' he added.

"Going To Have Access To India": Trump's Big Hint On Trade Deal

President Donald Trump has indicated that the ongoing negotiations between India and the US for a much-anticipated interim trade deal are on track and it could be sealed soon. Trump said the proposed deal could provide American companies greater access to the Indian market in line with the trade pact between the US and Indonesia. India and the US have been holding negotiations for the trade pact primarily to keep the tariffs below 20 per cent. "We made a deal with have full access into Indonesia," the US president told reporters. The US president said his administration is going to announce a few other trade deals and mentioned India in that context. Under the trade deal, Indonesia is giving the US access to the country, which we never had, Trump said. "That's probably the biggest part of the is basically working along that same line. We are going to have access to India," he said. Washington has already sent letters to several countries sharing details of reciprocal tariff rates that would come into effect on August 1. New Delhi hopes it will be able to strike a deal with the US to avoid the reciprocal tariffs. At the same time, India has indicated that it will not enter into the trade deal in a hurry. India does not enter into any trade agreement based on deadlines and will accept the proposed trade deal with the US only when it is fully finalised, properly concluded and in the national interest, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said earlier this month. An Indian commerce ministry team is in Washington for another round of talks on the proposed trade agreement. India has hardened its position on the US demand for duty concessions on agri and dairy products. New Delhi has, so far, not given any duty concessions to any of its trading partners in a free trade agreement in the dairy sector. New Delhi is seeking the removal of this additional tariff (26 per cent). It is also seeking the easing of tariffs on steel and aluminium (50 per cent) and the auto (25 per cent) sectors. President Trump announced heavy tariffs on a number of countries, including India, on April 2. However, it was soon postponed for 90 days until July 9 and later to August 1. Rolls-Royce expands US manufacturing with $75 mn investment in South Carolina

Rolls-Royce has announced a $75 million investment to expand its engine manufacturing operations in Aiken, South Carolina, aimed at increasing production of mtu Series 4000 engines. The expansion will introduce new machining capabilities and extend the footprint of the existing facility. It is expected to create 60 new positions, taking the total number of full-time employees at the site to 434. The mtu Series 4000 engines produced at the Aiken facility are used in mission-critical backup power systems . These engines are later assembled into generator sets at Rolls-Royce's Mankato, Minnesota facility. Adam Wood, MD, Rolls-Royce's Power Systems division in America, said, 'The increased investment strengthens our ability to serve our US customers – especially in the fast-growing American data centre industry. By increasing our machining capabilities in Aiken, we can supply more engines to Mankato, enabling us to deliver more gensets with shorter lead times. These investments reflect our commitment to supporting US customers with reliable, locally produced solutions.' Responding to power demands from US data centre The Aiken investment follows an earlier $24 million expansion of the Mankato site, announced by Rolls-Royce earlier this year. That project added 100 roles to the company's US Power Systems division. Both investments are part of a broader strategy to meet increasing demand for resilient power infrastructure in response to the growing number of data centres in the United States and the corresponding pressure on power grids.
