Suspect in 'sexual assault' investigation unexpectedly found in car park

A 'suspect in a sexual assault' investigation has been unexpectedly found in an Oxfordshire car park.
Early this morning (Saturday, August 9) Thames Valley Police's Rural Crime Taskforce was patrolling South Oxfordshire.
Near historic market town Watlington, they checked a vehicle in a rural car park which turned out to be owned by 'a suspect in a sexual assault allegation'.
A spokesperson for the police said: 'PC's Dollery and Woolley checked a vehicle parked in a rural car park near Watlington in the early hours of this morning.
'Checks showed the male was a suspect in a sexual assault allegation which was reported on the 8th of August.'
The spokesperson added that 'the male has been arrested and taken to custody'.
In addition, police added that his vehicle has been 'seized for a forensic examination'.

A 60-year-old woman from Bournemouth, who is thought to be known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, the force said. Detective Chief Inspector Neil Third said: 'Following the discovery of the body, we have launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained. 'I am keen to speak to anyone who has seen any suspicious activity around the address since Friday July 18 2025 to please come forward. 'You may have vital details to help us establish what has happened.' PLAINSBORO - A three-vehicle accident that left one man dead on Aug. 8 is under investigation, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Eamon Blanchard of the Plainsboro Police Department Saturday night. Police responded to an accident involving an Acura TSX, a dump truck and a Hyundai Genesis near the intersection of Route 1 South and College Road at 1:04 a.m. Friday night. An initial investigation led by Officer Richard Wolak of Plainsboro Township Police Department and Detective James Barnes of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office found the Acura TSX crashed into the back of the dump truck causing it to be propelled into the left lane, authorities said. As a result, the dump truck was struck by the Hyundai Genesis. The driver of the Acura TSX, Johnathan Martinez, 20, of the Somerset section of Franklin, waspronounced dead at the scene. More: New Brunswick fatal police shooting investigated by attorney general The passenger of the Acura TSX sustained serious injuries and was taken to Capital Health Medical Center in Trenton, where he remains in critical condition. The drivers of the Hyundai Genesis and dump truck are in stable condition and sustained minor injuries, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
