Suspect in 'sexual assault' investigation unexpectedly found in car park
A 'suspect in a sexual assault' investigation has been unexpectedly found in an Oxfordshire car park. Early this morning (Saturday, August 9) Thames Valley Police's Rural Crime Taskforce was patrolling South Oxfordshire. Near historic market town Watlington, they checked a vehicle in a rural car park which turned out to be owned by 'a suspect in a sexual assault allegation'. A spokesperson for the police said: 'PC's Dollery and Woolley checked a vehicle parked in a rural car park near Watlington in the early hours of this morning. 'Checks showed the male was a suspect in a sexual assault allegation which was reported on the 8th of August.' The spokesperson added that 'the male has been arrested and taken to custody'. In addition, police added that his vehicle has been 'seized for a forensic examination'.

Cannabis seized outside Bucks McDonald's after officers smelt it on coffee break
Cannabis has been seized outside a Bucks McDonald's, after Thames Valley Police officers smelled the drug while grabbing a coffee. TVP's Rural Crime Taskforce posted to social media that officers had carried out a search and issued a community resolution with a drug awareness course condition. The force stated: "Even when our rural crime officers grab a quick coffee, they're still keeping their eyes—and noses—open. "The occupant was rolling a "herbal" and a search was carried out under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. "Cannabis was seized, and a community resolution was issued with conditions to attend a drugs awareness course. "Vigilance never takes a break."

Van filled with stolen tools recovered at Oxford car boot
A rural crime taskforce discovered a van containing "a large quantity" of stolen power tools at a car boot sale over the Valley Police's Rural Crime Taskforce found 215 items in a Luton van at the Kassam Stadium event in Oxford on recorded and identified several of the tools as stolen, thanks to "meticulous recording of serial numbers by owners".The force said a woman selling the tools had been arrested and was now under investigation. The discovery was part of an attempt to crackdown on a series of crimes targeting arborists' tools across the officers said the recorded thefts dated as far back as 2018 and spanned police areas from West Mercia to said they had "engaged with local communities to gather intelligence and track down suspect vehicles", one of which had been recovered and preserved for forensic force issued a reminder for people to mark their property "with a postcode or unique identifier and record serial numbers"."Please consider trackers... they are getting a lot smaller and a lot cheaper nowadays," it added in a Facebook post. Stolen boat and abandoned Toyota Prius seized by police
An abandoned Toyota Prius in Oxfordshire and a stolen boat have both been seized by police. In a busy day for Thames Valley Police's Rural Crime Taskforce, a boat that had been stolen yesterday (Monday, February 17) was seized in Beckley. Elsewhere, a Toyota Prius was also seized in South Oxfordshire after being abandoned with the key left in the vehicle today (Tuesday, February 18).
