Jennifer Aniston makes rare comment about ‘love triangle' with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
Jennifer Aniston hasn't publicly spoken much about her 'love triangle' with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, and his now-ex wife, Angelina Jolie, but the 'Friends' star made some rare comments in a Vanity Fair profile published Monday.
'It was…such a vulnerable time,' she told the outlet. 'Journalism back then felt more like a form of a sport.'

Aniston, 56, and Pitt, 61, were married from 2000 to 2005. Pitt met Angelina Jolie, 50, on the set of the 2005 movie 'Mr. and Mrs Smith.'
The 'Fight Club' actor was with Jolie from 2005 to 2016 when she filed for divorce.
Reflecting on the tabloid frenzy around her 'love triangle' with Pitt and Jolie, Aniston told VF, 'There's obviously some PTSD we all have, which is why these [interviews] scare me.'

For years after Pitt left Aniston for Jolie, speculation about Aniston's love life and desire to have kids or not was splashed in headlines.
'It was such juicy reading for people. If they didn't have their soap operas, they had their tabloids,' Aniston told VF.

VF noted that Aniston refers to that period of time as 'the love triangle' years.
The 'Along Came Polly' actress said that her advice to herself at the time was, 'Just pick yourself up by the bootstraps and keep on walking, girl.'

Referring to her constant presence in the tabloids around 2005, Aniston shared, 'I didn't have a strong enough constitution to not get affected by it.'
The 'Horrible Bosses' actress added, 'We're human beings, even though some people don't want to believe we are. They think, You signed up for it, so you take it. But we really didn't sign up for that.'
Following Pitt, Aniston had high-profile relationships with John Mayer and Vince Vaughn, before her relationship with Justin Theroux. The pair were linked in 2011 and tied the knot in 2015. Aniston and Theroux revealed their split in 2018 and went through 'the most gentle' divorce.

Pitt, meanwhile, married Jolie in 2014. The exes have three biological children, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17, and three adopted children, Maddox, 24, Pax, 21, and Zahara, 20.
In 2016, Jolie ended their marriage following an alleged altercation on a plane with their six children present.
Pitt was investigated after the alleged incident and wasn't charged by authorities, but he is believed to be estranged from his kids.

After their split, Pitt and Jolie spent nearly a decade fighting over the custody of their children and the division of their assets.
On Dec. 30, 2024, Jolie's lawyer confirmed that the former couple finally reached a settlement in their divorce, five years after they were declared legally single.
Since 2022, Pitt has been romantically linked to Ines De Ramon. In recent years, Aniston has spoken more about her image in the media.

Jason Bateman, who's Aniston's close friend, told Vanity Fair in Monday's story that the actress is like a 'co-mom' to his kids, Francesca, 18, and Maple, 13.
The 'Arrested Development' actor said that Aniston is 'the first one to call or text about big dates in the girls' lives.'
She's also friends with Gwyneth Paltrow, who dated Pitt from 1994 to 1997. When asked if they talk about their mutual ex, she said, 'Oh, of course. How can we not? We're girls.'
Aniston has not written a memoir, but she told VF that she will publish one someday, when she has 'more' to share.
Besides Pitt, the star also admitted that she and her 'Friends' co-stars 'mourned' Matthew Perry long before his death in 2023.

Kathy Griffin is known for being honest, especially when it comes to subjects other celebrities might want to keep private. Griffin recently shared with fans that she underwent another facelift in a video aptly titled 'New Face, Same Kathy!' that she released earlier this month. 'It's my third,' the comedian shared. 'I know, that's so vain. I'm so vain for no reason.' 'No one has ever gone to a Kathy Griffin show to see her beautiful, youthful face,' she quipped. 'You come to hear my jokes, which is what I want. I don't want you to come to care what I look like.' Griffin then went into detail about the procedure, joking that 'as far as I know, they just yank the crap out of your skin and your neck.' She also spoke about the process of choosing her surgeon, Dr. Ben Talei, and said that he also did singer Sia 's facelift. 'And the reason I'm saying that is that you can go on YouTube [and find this out],' Griffin said. 'There's a video of her without her backwards wig, 'cause as you know, she's an anonymous giant celebrity, and she even gave him an award, and she had the best before and after pictures I've ever seen.' 'And first of all, it's funny that Sia even got a facelift because you don't ever see her face, but the pictures sold me,' the 64-year-old added. Griffin also got real about the surgical recovery process and made sure followers knew what they were getting into if they decided to follow in her footsteps. Jennifer Aniston says 'Friends' cast was 'mourning' Matthew Perry long before his death: 'Part of me thinks this is better'
"I'm glad he's out of that pain," the "Friends" alum adds. Jennifer Aniston is still grappling with Matthew Perry's death almost two years later. In a recent profile for Vanity Fair, the Morning Show star recalled the last time she and Perry reunited with their costars, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer for the show's 2021 special Friends: The Reunion. Unbeknownst to the six stars, the reunion would serve as a "final curtain call" for their group. Perry died on Oct. 28, 2023, from the acute effects of ketamine, with drowning, coronary artery disease, and buprenorphine effects listed as contributing factors. He was 54. "We did everything we could when we could," Aniston told the outlet of her and her costars' attempts to help the actor with his longtime struggle with addiction. "But it almost felt like we'd been mourning Matthew for a long time because his battle with that disease was a really hard one for him to fight." Perry openly discussed his decades-long battle with drug and alcohol addiction, as well as his friends' efforts to help him, in his 2022 memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. He became an outspoken substance abuse treatment advocate during his career. In 2013, he turned his former Malibu, Calif., home into a sober living facility called the Perry House, which ran for two years. He was regularly candid about his addiction struggles and difficult journey to sobriety. In his memoir, Perry recalled how Aniston was the first costar to confront him about his troubles despite him never having been drunk on set. Perry called the confrontation a "scary" moment during an interview with Diane Sawyer in 2022. He told Sawyer that Aniston remained in close contact with him during those dark times. "She was the one that reached out the most," Perry said. "You know, I'm really grateful to her for that." Looking back on Perry's struggles, Aniston shared told Vanity Fair, "As hard as it was for all of us and for the fans, there's a part of me that thinks this is better." "I'm glad he's out of that pain," she added. News of Perry's sudden death sent shockwaves across Hollywood. His tight-knit Friends costars issued a joint statement about the "unfathomable loss" before sharing their own homages. In her own tribute, Aniston said the loss of her "little brother" Perry has "cut deep." "Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I've never experienced before," Aniston wrote on social media at the time. "We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Being able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deep. And we loved him deeply." Added Aniston, "Matty, I love you so much and I know you are now completely at peace and out of any pain. I talk to you every day… sometimes I can almost hear you saying 'could you BE any crazier?'" Speaking with Variety in December 2023 in her first interview following Perry's death, an emotional Aniston said she hopes her late costar is remembered "as he said he'd love to be remembered' — someone who lived well and loved to help others. (The actor wrote candidly about his addiction struggles in his 2022 memoir, writing in an excerpt, 'When I die, as far as my so-called accomplishments go, it would be nice if Friends were listed far behind the things I did to try to help other people.') "I want people to know he was really healthy, and getting healthy," said Aniston. "He was on a pursuit. He worked so hard. He really was dealt a tough one. I miss him dearly. We all do. Boy, he made us laugh really hard."Perry's personal assistant Kenneth Iwamasa and an alleged drug dealer known as "the Ketamine Queen" of North Hollywood, Jasveen Sangha, were among the five people charged last August for distributing ketamine to Perry during the final weeks of his life.
