Deprived Scheduled Castes community receiving rightful share, respect under BJP govt: Haryana CM

Chandigarh, June 7 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, addressing a delegation of the Deprived Scheduled Castes (DSC) community from across the state, today said the community is now receiving its rightful share and respect under the BJP government. He said that in the recent announcement of approximately 3,500 government recruitments, 605 posts have been reserved for the DSC community and 604 posts for other Scheduled Castes. This is a strong step toward social justice, he added. Saini also acknowledged the long struggle of the DSC community and stated that their efforts are now yielding positive results. Future generations will be empowered and strong, he said, while addressing a delegation of the DSC community at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir. On the occasion, members of the DSC community honored the Chief Minister with a turban and expressed gratitude for implementing categorisation within reservations for the DSC community. They also invited the Chief Minister to attend the Sant Kabir Jayanti celebration to be held in Sirsa on June 11. The Chief Minister, calling the members of the community "warriors", said the turban placed on his head is not just his honor but the honor of the entire community. In other remarks, the CM said the real strength of this country lies in its poor, labourers, and marginalised communities. These are the very people who, through their hard work, are making the biggest contribution to transforming India into a developed nation. Over the past 11 years, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has given these hardworking sections of society the respect and rights that Congress could never provide. Congress has always prioritised the interests of its own family and never truly cared about the public, society, or the nation. Hitting out at the Congress, he said that despite being in power for decades, the Congress ignored the aspirations of the common people and now the public has shown them door. UNI GS RN

During a teleconference on Saturday with TDP members, leaders, and MLAs at the party office in Amaravati, CM Naidu emphasised the importance of earning and maintaining the trust of the public, reminding them that the citizens are closely observing their actions. Highlighting an upcoming event, CM Naidu announced plans to organise a gathering of 2,000 people in Amaravati on June 12 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the NDA government assuming power. He urged that similar programmes be held across Andhra Pradesh, stressing the need to communicate the developmental initiatives undertaken by the NDA government throughout the year. The Chief Minister expressed his awareness of the performance of individual MLAs and stressed the importance of being accessible to the public. Akshara Andhra program will be launched soon to achieve 100% literacy: Minister Nara Lokesh

VIJAYAWADA: HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh announced several landmark education initiatives and reforms, terming the ongoing Mega DSC for recruitment of 16,347 teachers a golden chapter in the State's history. He held a marathon 4-hour review meeting with senior officials from the departments of school, college and adult education at his residence in Undavalli on Friday. Lokesh congratulated officials for the smooth conduct of the first day of the Mega DSC when School Education Commissioner V Vijaya Rama Raju informed 88% attendance in the morning session of DSC, and 86% in the evening. 'From now on, DSCs will be conducted every year, and the Andhra Pradesh Model of Education will be fully realised in the next four years,' Lokesh said. He highlighted that 27,000 school assistants were transferred online, and over 4,000 promoted in a transparent and political interference-free process. Revealing a major new initiative, Lokesh said a special programme titled Akshara Andhra will be launched to achieve 100% literacy in the State. Shocked that 81 lakh people in the 15-59 age group are still illiterate, he said the adult education programme will be taken up in mission mode. 'In March, 3.95 lakh people were tested under the Ullas programme, and 90.12% passed. The State must rise from the bottom to become one of India's top three literate States within three years,' he asserted. Director of Intermediate Education Kritika Shukla raised concern that 109 of 247 sanctioned posts in the adult education department remain vacant. She recommended recruiting only motivated candidates from the school education system.
