New Delhi: As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi embarks on a ' Voter Adhikar Yatra ' in Bihar, the ruling NDA attacked him for defaming the constitutional authorities and misleading the country on the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls BJP general secretary Tarun Chug accused Gandhi of running a campaign to defame the country's democracy at the behest of foreign powers."Rahul Gandhi has no matter to raise, which is why he is running a campaign to defame the country's democracy, constitution, and institutions by creating an atmosphere of lies and fear to please his foreign masters. He (Rahul Gandhi) has no facts, he has no evidence when the Election Commission asks for evidence," Chug told ET.Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal told ET: "The yatra of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav has already been punctured. The Supreme Court itself is monitoring the SIR exercise. The people of India do not stand with those who do not trust the Supreme Court. The people of Bihar have faith that the Election Commission will deliver justice to them."JDU working president Sanjay Jha told ET that SIR is a non-issue in Bihar. "SIR is a non-issue among the people of Bihar. Have you seen any protests or complaints from the people? We have taken feedback from our party workers across the state and there is absolutely no problem at all. When there is no issue to the people, for whom is Rahul Gandhi doing the yatra. When EC asks for proof, he (Rahul Gandhi) doesn't provide. This is election time, and everyone tries to do something to attract voters. For the Opposition, nothing seems to be working in Bihar," Jha told media persons in Patna.NDA ally LJP (RV) leader Arun Bharti reminded the Opposition of the earlier Congress rule."Congress, from 1962 to the 1990s, stole the votes of Dalits and the backward communities, prevented them from voting, and snatched the ballot through the power of the bullet... Today, these two thieves (Congress and RJD), who are like cousins, have come together to organise a Voter Adhikar Yatra," Bharti told ET.

KTR is arrogant and ignorant: Komatireddy
Hyderabad R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy termed BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao as 'arrogant' and 'reeking of hatred' for referring to the Congress as a 'dirty party' and 'third grade party.' 'Is the party that gave Telangana a third-grade party in your eyes or the party that led India's Independence struggle a dirty party?' he questioned, and asked KTR to speak to his father K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who once stood with Sonia Gandhi, the very leader who made Telangana a reality. Accusing Mr. Rama Rao of being arrogant and indulging in massive corruption, the Minister said, 'Those who looted thousands of crores are now trying to lecture Congress. Ridiculing the Gandhi family, which sacrificed for the nation, only exposes KTR's ignorance. Rajiv Gandhi was hailed as one of the best Prime Ministers, and Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra was for unity, not politics.' The Minister said the Congress party's Vice-Presidential nominee was being applauded nationwide, and reminded that Justice Sudarshan Reddy, a jurist from Telangana, had raised his voice for statehood even while serving in the Supreme Court. 'Opposing a son of Telangana for Vice President exposes the hollowness of BRS' Telangana sentiment,' he charged.

Musi project cost escalation: KTR accuses Cong Govt. of looting public fund
HYDERABAD Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has accused the Congress government, led by CM A. Revanth Reddy, of looting public funds under the guise of the Musi Riverfront development project, and slammed the cost escalation. Addressing the media on Thursday, he reminded that it was the previous K. Chandrasekhar Rao government that brought Godavari river water to Kondapochamma Sagar, near Hyderabad, through the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) after approving a proposal with a budget of ₹1,100 crorein 2022. While the KCR government prepared a master plan and a detailed project report (DPR) with an estimated cost of ₹16,000 crore, the Congress government has now inflated the estimates to an astounding ₹1,50,000 crore, the former minister alleged. KTR warned that BRS would expose and prevent this 'scam'. He accused the Congress government of rushing the project to secure its position by bribing officials in Delhi, all under the 'guise of urban development.' He also criticised the Congress leaders for 'spreading lies' that the Kaleshwaram project has collapsed, while simultaneously announcing plans to use water from the same project for the Musi project.

Opposition questions Ajit Pawar's commitment to secularism after wife Sunetra attends RSS meet
Reacting to the controversy, Ajit Pawar -- whose party is part of the ruling Mahayuti coalition with the BJP and Shiv Sena -- said he was unaware of the meeting. 'I am not the husband who takes each minute update from his wife,' he added. Sunetra quickly clarified on social media that her Delhi meeting was non-political. She said she attended to understand how other people and their NGOs work for women's empowerment. 'I just spoke two words there, and no political meaning should be gleaned from this meeting. My intention was only to understand the women's problem and get the solution,' she said. Meanwhile, Opposition parties questioned the NCP's commitment to secularism and the Shahu-Phule-Ambedkar progressive ideology following Sunetra's attendance at the RSS meeting. NCP(SP) MLA and leader Rohit Pawar suggested there may have been pressure on the Pawars to attend. 'On one hand, Ajit Pawar is taking the name of Shiv-Shahu-Phule-Ambedkar. On the other hand, he or his representative attending the RSS meeting shows hypocrisy,' he said. 'Ajit Pawar has joined hands with the BJP for his reasons. He has not accepted the BJP-RSS ideology, but his party must be under pressure to attend meetings or upload photos to send out a message that he is accepting RSS ideology,' he added. Rohit added that Sunetra should have raised questions during the meeting about why the RSS and the BJP opposed OBC reservation through their Kamandal Yatra against the Mandal Commission.
