These 3 Saatva mattresses will make your bedroom feel like a luxury hotel — and they have $400 off in the Memorial Day sales

Tom's Guide24-05-2025

Popular US mattress brand Saatva is known for its handcrafted beds. We've tested a lot of them, and can attest to their luxury comfort and support: they're an excellent choice if you want to level-up your sleep space to resemble a top-tier hotel room.
So great news, then, that there's a $400 discount on all Saatva mattresses in the Memorial Day mattress sales this weekend, taking them back to Black-Friday prices.
Our in-house mattress experts and the wider testing team have been impressed by the quality and premium construction of all the Saatva mattresses we've slept on. We ranked the Classic as our best mattress of the year after awarding it a full five stars in our review, and we like the benefits you get at Saatva: a 365-night trial, lifetime warranty and free white-glove delivery service.
But there are some other models to consider, too, if you're looking to recreate hotel luxury at home. These are the three top mattresses in the Saatva Memorial Day sale…
1. Saatva Classic mattress: twin was $1,399 now $999 at SaatvaOur Saatva Classic mattress review team was so impressed with this luxury innerspring hybrid, they awarded it a full 5 out of 5 stars for the first time ever. We loved its excellent pressure relief and how supportive it is in all sleeping positions. Made of layers of foam and coils, it features Saatva's patented lumbar crown (which contributes to its great lower back support), a pillow-top, and has gold thread piping, adding to the luxury hotel bed feel. It doesn't sleep hot, and it's customizable too: you can choose between two heights and three firmness levels. The current $400 off discount is the best Saatva mattress sale we've seen recently for the Classic. It drops the MSRP of a twin from $1,399 to $999 while a queen will cost you $1,699 - that's $100 cheaper than it was in April.
Our review: ★★★★★User score: ★★★★★ (4.8/5 stars based on 4k+ reviews)
2. Saatva Rx mattress: twin was $1,999 now $1,599 at SaatvaThe Rx is Saatva's luxury solution for sleepers who experience back and joint pain. A 15" hybrid, it features seven layers, including a memory foam lumbar crown, 1" of micro coils in between layers of high-density foam, 8" support coils and a Therapeutic Support Core layer. Our main Saatva Rx mattress review tester, who is a side/front sleeper with long-term back pain, found it offered a great balance of comfort and support, and saw a reduction in her lower back pain after four weeks of sleeping on it. We feel it's a great choice for back sleepers, too, but may be a little too firm for some lighter weight side sleepers. You can now get $400 off, which reduces the price of a twin from $1,999 to $1,599 while a queen size is priced at $2,999 (was $3,399).
Our review: ★★★★½User score: ★★★★½ (4.7/5 based on 200+ reviews)
3. Saatva Latex Hybrid: twin was $1,699 now $1,299 at SaatvaThe Saatva Latex Hybrid is a great choice if you're looking for a mattress with hotel-like quality and environmentally friendly credentials. It's crafted from layers of GOLS-certified organic natural latex and organic New Zealand wool, with a supportive layer of pocketed coils, a soft Euro top and an organic cotton cover. The natural breathability of these materials, and the airflow from the coils, makes it a good choice for anyone prone to overheating at night. The buoyancy from the latex and coils, and the medium-firm feel, makes the Latex Hybrid a great choice for combination or back sleepers, and the enhanced lumbar support is also a bonus. A twin is currently $1,299 (was $1,699), while a queen mattress is reduced from $2,499 to $2,099.

FAA limits flights at Newark airport for the rest of 2025

June 7 (UPI) -- Arrivals and departures are limited for the rest of the year at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. The restrictions took effect on Friday and limit arrivals and departures to 28 per hour on weekends while airport construction occurs from Sept. 1 through Dec. 31, the Federal Aviation Administration announced on Friday. Arrivals and departures also are limited to no more than 34 per hour during other periods through Oct. 25. "The confirmed reduced rates will maintain safety while alleviating excessive flight delays at the airport due to staffing and equipment challenges," the FAA announcement says. "The early completion of runway construction at the airport that added to the delays will also contribute to a more efficient operation." Similar travel restrictions "paid dividends" by enabling "smooth travel into and out of Newark" over the Memorial Day holiday, according to the FAA. Officials at the federal agency recently met with airline representatives to discuss problems at the Newark airport that triggered long delays and flight cancellations that left many air passengers stranded for hours and sometimes longer. The discussions led to the current flight restrictions while undertaking several improvements at the airport and regionally. The FAA is working to improve operations at the Newark airport by adding three new high-bandwidth telecommunications links between New York-based hubs and the Philadelphia-based terminal radar approach control system for regional air traffic control. Old copper telecommunications connections will be replaced with fiber-optic technology for greater bandwidth and speed, and a temporary backup system to the Philadelphia-based TRACON system will be active while improvements are done. The FAA also is increasing air traffic controller staffing by adding 22 fully certified controllers and five fully certified supervisors at the Newark airport and others in the area. "The U.S. Department of Transportation and the FAA will continue working with all stakeholders to ensure that the airport is a safe, efficient and functional gateway for passengers and air crews," the FAA announcement says.

Wall Street Has a New Secret Code for Laughing Behind Donald Trump's Back

Wall Street traders have adopted a term to mock President Trump's flip-flopping trade policy. TACO, an acronym that stands for 'Trump Always Chickens Out,' was coined by Financial Times columnist Robert Armstrong. It has since become a favorite among stockbrokers. Simply put, the tongue-in-cheek term describes how markets dip on President Trump's tariff threats, only to rebound when he inevitably reverses course. In the latest example, markets rallied earlier this week after Trump delayed the 50 percent tariff on the European Union that he had threatened just days earlier. In response to his relenting, the S&P 500 posted its biggest gain in weeks. Speaking on MSNBC Tuesday, Australian economist Justin Wolfers mocked Trump by saying this tariff policy 'nearly lasted one entire long weekend.' 'He was a little unlucky. There was Memorial Day, extended the weekend to three days, and you couldn't have a tariff policy last a full weekend. So, Friday's policy was reversed by Monday. And so, we get to analyze it today on Tuesday. And I think that's really symptomatic,' he said. Suggesting that Trump's word is worth very little in certain circumstances, including tariff threats, Wolfers used the example of Wall Street's new favorite acronym. 'In fact, on Wall Street right now, and it's one level funny and another level tragic. There's a trade called the TACO trade, T-A-C-O, Trump Always Chickens Out,' he said. Wolfers had said Trump's word now lacks 'credibility.' 'There was a time when the president opened his mouth, when you had to pay attention because you thought it meant something, that it was a shift in policy that other countries could rely on and respond to. That's no longer the case,' he said. Salomon Fiedler, an analyst from German bank Berenberg, is just one of many speculators who now say they are happy to wait it out when Trump makes a threat. 'Wild threats by Trump are not unusual,' he wrote in a note last month, when the president 'paused' the super-charged 'Liberation Day' duties he imposed on a slew of countries. 'Given the damage the U.S. would do to itself with this tariff, he will probably not follow through.' Trump paused the duties to allow his economic buffs to secure renewed deals with dozens of nations. So far, only the United Kingdom and China have inked any sort of agreement. 2 Reasons AMC Stock Is Soaring in June

Memorial Day weekend set moviegoing records, and a lot of the sales went to AMC as the largest theater chain. With many expected hit movies slated for release, management thinks it's turned a corner. AMC stock is still down year to date and the company has a lot to prove. 10 stocks we like better than AMC Entertainment › AMC (NYSE: AMC) is the largest movie theater operator in the world, but being the leader in a troubled industry hasn't done much for the company over the past few years. With the advent of streaming and residual fears from the pandemic, moviegoing just isn't what it once was and AMC continues to struggle. However, Memorial Day weekend was a boon for the company and AMC stock has been climbing. Let's see why and what it means for the future. Streaming from home has taken a toll on the box office, but there is still life left in theaters. Four of the top 10 highest-grossing films ever were released since the pandemic started, including Avatar: The Way of Water in the No. 3 spot and last year's Inside Out 2. People are still going to the movies. That fact was reinforced with a record Memorial Day weekend in May. Disney's live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch had the highest-ever four-day Memorial Day opening, and it was buttressed by a strong showing for Paramount's Mission: Impossible -- The Final Reckoning. Altogether, these two topped a blowout weekend with $326.7 million in domestic ticket sales, and Lilo & Stitch is already the second-highest-grossing domestic film of the year. Of course, that success trickled down to generate incredible financial results for AMC. Management said it set an all-time record for admissions revenue, food and beverage revenue, and total revenue for a weekend Memorial Day opening, and that the five-day stretch was the third-highest revenue for any five-day slot in more than 10 years. As for attendance, this was the highest-attended weekend and highest-attended five-day period of the year, both domestically and globally. Management didn't provide specific financial metrics for the weekend, so investors aren't likely to hear the nitty-gritty details until the second-quarter earnings release sometime in July or August. But management's update and optimism are boosting investor confidence. It's nice for the company to have a solid, record-breaking opening, but can it last? Management thinks so, and the market may be pricing that in. CEO Adam Aron said that after this weekend, AMC has turned a corner. "With many more potentially huge movies coming in June all the way through the end of 2025, and beyond that deeply into 2026 as well," he said, "we firmly expect to be enjoying a robust theatrical box office as we look ahead." Here's what to be excited about. Disney has a full slate of films coming out over the next few years, including the third film in the Avatar series. The first two are the highest-grossing and third-highest-grossing films ever, and the next film is slated for release this coming December. It also has the next Frozen film and other top franchises coming out soon. Warner Bros. has its own expected hits coming out, including a new Superman, and Comcast's Universal Studios has the next installment of Wicked and a new Shrek. Sequels to popular franchises can be big business. But the company is still reporting revenue declines and losses as of the 2025 first quarter. It will take some time to see if AMC has indeed turned a corner. As the price has increased in June, so has the short interest in AMC, hitting almost 15% of all outstanding shares. These investors are betting on this being a short-term boost and that the price will fall from this surge. Even though AMC stock is up 29% over the past month, it's still down 15% year-to-date. Unless the company releases incredibly strong earnings for the second quarter and keeps up its performance, the price jump may not last. Part of what's frustrating about that for investors is that many variables are beyond the company's control. It's up to film producers to create hit movies that bring viewers into theaters and to make the decision to keep them there long enough before they hit streaming services. That can be quite lumpy. You need to have real confidence in the future of the film industry and the resilience of theaters as a beckoning call for die-hard fans to want to invest in AMC's future, and for most investors, that time isn't now.
