Snoop Dogg investment in Welsh football club hinted at during side's kit launch

Snoop Dogg appeared in Swansea City's kit launch and the Championship side have hinted that the rapper could also buy a stake in the club, joining former Real Madrid star Luka Modric Swansea City have hinted that Snoop Dogg could invest in the club after the rapper helped launch their new home kit. Swansea unveiled their new kit by taking a jab at fellow Welsh club Wrexham, who are owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Wrexham launched their new kit earlier this week and Reynolds shared a snap of himself wearing the shirt while holding on Instagram. "Been waiting a year for this kit to make its debut – and it did not disappoint," the Deadpool actor wrote. ‌ "Available NOW in the Wrexham online store. Link in stories. Dog not included." And Swansea poked fun at Reynolds' post, sharing an image of Snoop Dogg in their new kit with the caption: "Dogg included @SnoopDogg Nuthin' But A Wales Thang, the Jacks are ready. We're the Pride of Wales." ‌ They also posted a video of Snoop Dogg saying: "Hail to Wales and to Swansea City. It's your boy big Snoop Dogg. Coming to a hood near you. Oh yeah, these are the new jerseys." And Swansea have now hinted that the rapper may even invest in the club, with a spokesperson saying: "We appreciate the considerable interest and enthusiasm generated by Snoop Dogg's appearance in a Swansea City shirt. "While we are not in a position to share specifics with you all just yet, we will be able to provide more details soon and we're excited about what's to come." Swansea are currently under the ownership of Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt, Nigel Morris and Jason Cohen, who took majority control from Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan last November. ‌ Former Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric is also a co-owner, having acquired a minority stake in the club back in April. "This is an exciting opportunity," the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner said at the time. "Swansea has a strong identity, an incredible fanbase and the ambition to compete at the highest level. Playing at the highest level, I believe I can provide my experience to the club. My goal is to support the club's growth in a positive way and to help to build an exciting future." ‌ Swansea's chief executive Tom Gorringe added: "I am excited that Luka has come on board as an investor and co-owner. There is no better role model in the game for our players, from the academy right through to the first team. "His endorsement of our ambition and willingness to support us on our journey will be instrumental as we aim to continue to improve our results on and off the pitch. "In our conversations, he has demonstrated his passion for the club, his knowledge of how we are performing, and a genuine passion to help us improve. I am really looking forward to working with him more closely to drive us forward." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. What time does England vs Wales start? Women's Euros TV channel and team news

England will look to book their spot in the Euro 2025 knockout stages as they face Wales in their final Group D match on Sunday. The Lionesses bounced back superbly from an opening defeat to France by thrashing the Netherlands 4-0 to leave their knockout hopes in their own hands. Sarina Wiegman's side simply need to beat Wales, who currently sit bottom the group after losing their first two games, to reach the quarter-finals. If England draw, they could still advance provided that the Netherlands do not win against France. Wales, meanwhile, still have a still chance of qualifying, but would need to beat England by four goals to have any chance of reaching the quarter-finals in their first-ever major tournament. Here's everything you need to know ahead of kick-off. The match kicks off at 8pm UK time at Kybunpark, St. Gallen in Switzerland. ITV 1 will be showing the game live with coverage starting at 7pm. Streaming is available via ITVX. Wiegman may chose to stick with an unchanged XI after her side's convincing win over the Dutch last time out. Ella Toone impressed in place of Beth Mead on Wednesday and could continue in the No10 role behind Alessia Russo. Jess Carter and Alex Greenwood switched positions in defence in midweek, too, and Carter is expected to continue at centre-back after struggling at full-back against France. 1/16 England9/1 Draw 25/1 Wales More Trending When are Coronation Street and Emmerdale back on TV? 'I hope we will see a game where we have a lot of the ball and we play very good in possession, so we don't let it become into a fighting game,' the England head coach said pre-match. Rhian Wilkinson insists Wales not just at Euro 2025 to participate as they target England shock

Rhian Wilkinson insists Wales not just at Euro 2025 to participate as they target England shock Wales face England at Kybunpark on Sunday as both remain in with a chance of progression to the quarter finals Despite suffering defeat, Wilkinson took time to pay thanks to the Welsh support in Switzerland. (Image: (Photo by Aitor Alcalde - UEFA/UEFA via Getty Images) ) Rhian Wilkinson insisted Wales are not just at the Euros to participate despite all the pressure being on England when they meet in St. Gallen on Sunday. Wales sit on the brink of a Euro 2025 exit having failed to pick up a point during their time in Switzerland so far, but Wilkinson was keen to impress just how remarkable an achievement it was for the side to even be at the tournament in the first place. ‌ But though she wants to accentuate the positives, the Wales manager was also far from rolling over for England as her side look to make an impact in their remaining game. ‌ 'I don't think many people inside women's football understand that we're here for the first time and we're here to make an impact,' said Wilkinson. 'Part of that is celebrating our firsts so we were able to celebrate Jess [Fishlock]'s goal twice thanks to VAR. All these moments are important to celebrate. 'Those countries that are fortunate enough to have the player pool to expect regularly to qualify for these events have forgotten what an achievement it is to be at the pinnacle of the game at these major events. Article continues below 'These women have fought so hard for so long to have this opportunity and I will not allow us to feel like we're just here to participate, so we will continue to celebrate.' Wales come up against the old enemy in Switzerland. (Image: (Photo by) ) Wales fell to a 3-0 defeat in their opening Euro 2025 match against the Netherlands but grew into the tournament to get off to a strong start against a rotated France side. ‌ While France took an early lead, Fishlock's 13th-minute equaliser not only represented Wales' first-ever major tournament goal but also put them back on level terms with a side expected to go far at the Euros. Wilkinson's side could not hold out as they fell to 4-1 loss, but she hopes the side will take a key lesson from both games as they head into a crunch clash with England. '[I want them to play with] freedom and courage. We've talked about it all the time. I love watching this team when they start to find their flow,' she said. ‌ 'That's what we want to see another time. Our fan base has been incredible and we're so grateful for it so the very least that we can do is show up and give it everything we've got. 'They're on the journey with us and they understand they're here to celebrate something historic. We hope it's a win.' That win will be made all the more special if it comes over neighbours England. It is a rivalry embedded deep into the two side's footballing history. ‌ Though Wilkinson may be Canadian, a fierce contest with those in geographical proximity is something she understands well, though she has been keen not to let the players get ahead of themselves. 'I understand the grudge match with my neighbours [the USA],' she said. 'We're preparing like we do every game. I've not let them talk about this England game until we were finished at the French game. 'But equally, for me, this is another incredible challenge. I can't pretend there's not history there. I have read a book. Article continues below 'For these women, it's acknowledging it and not letting it get bigger than it needs to be. 'This is going to be a wonderful opportunity for women's football and for two nations, neighbours, to put on a display for our families.'
