Snoop Dogg investment in Welsh football club hinted at during side's kit launch
Swansea City have hinted that Snoop Dogg could invest in the club after the rapper helped launch their new home kit. Swansea unveiled their new kit by taking a jab at fellow Welsh club Wrexham, who are owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
Wrexham launched their new kit earlier this week and Reynolds shared a snap of himself wearing the shirt while holding on Instagram. "Been waiting a year for this kit to make its debut – and it did not disappoint," the Deadpool actor wrote.
"Available NOW in the Wrexham online store. Link in stories. Dog not included." And Swansea poked fun at Reynolds' post, sharing an image of Snoop Dogg in their new kit with the caption: "Dogg included @SnoopDogg Nuthin' But A Wales Thang, the Jacks are ready. We're the Pride of Wales."
They also posted a video of Snoop Dogg saying: "Hail to Wales and to Swansea City. It's your boy big Snoop Dogg. Coming to a hood near you. Oh yeah, these are the new jerseys."
And Swansea have now hinted that the rapper may even invest in the club, with a spokesperson saying: "We appreciate the considerable interest and enthusiasm generated by Snoop Dogg's appearance in a Swansea City shirt.
"While we are not in a position to share specifics with you all just yet, we will be able to provide more details soon and we're excited about what's to come." Swansea are currently under the ownership of Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt, Nigel Morris and Jason Cohen, who took majority control from Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan last November.
Former Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric is also a co-owner, having acquired a minority stake in the club back in April. "This is an exciting opportunity," the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner said at the time.
"Swansea has a strong identity, an incredible fanbase and the ambition to compete at the highest level. Playing at the highest level, I believe I can provide my experience to the club. My goal is to support the club's growth in a positive way and to help to build an exciting future."
Swansea's chief executive Tom Gorringe added: "I am excited that Luka has come on board as an investor and co-owner. There is no better role model in the game for our players, from the academy right through to the first team.
"His endorsement of our ambition and willingness to support us on our journey will be instrumental as we aim to continue to improve our results on and off the pitch.
"In our conversations, he has demonstrated his passion for the club, his knowledge of how we are performing, and a genuine passion to help us improve. I am really looking forward to working with him more closely to drive us forward."

BBC will not tolerate behaviour outlined in Wallace report, says chief
The 58-year-old was speaking as the BBC unveiled its annual report, the day after the report into Wallace found a total of 45 out of the 83 allegations of misconduct made during his time on the show were substantiated, including one allegation of 'unwelcome physical contact'. Speaking about the independent report commissioned by MasterChef producer Banijay UK, Davie said: 'From our side, it's simple, we're not going to tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values. 'The industry needs to change, and we want to lead in the front, myself and the BBC leadership team will not tolerate people who are behaving inappropriately. 'There is no place in or on the BBC for those who are not prepared to live by our values, whoever they are. 'This is a time of transition for the industry, a reset, and the changes we are driving are overdue.' On Monday, Wallace's MasterChef co-host John Torode confirmed he had a standalone allegation of racist language upheld in the same report. He said had 'no recollection of the incident' and was 'shocked and saddened' by the allegation in an Instagram post. In November 2024, the show's production company, Banijay UK, announced Wallace would step away from his role on the BBC cooking show while historical allegations of misconduct were investigated. The report concluded that the 'majority of the substantiated allegations against Mr Wallace related to inappropriate sexual language and humour', adding that 'a smaller number of allegations of other inappropriate language and being in a state of undress were also substantiated'. During the release of the annual report, BBC chair Samir Shah revealed for the first time that several members of staff had been dismissed as a result of an independent review of workplace culture commissioned by the BBC. He said: 'This is the first time we're going to say this publicly, several people have been dismissed as a result (of the review). 'But that, alongside the way the executive responded to the Banijay report into MasterChef yesterday, and I want audiences to feel confident that we are addressing these challenges. 'Finally, at the same time as acknowledging and dealing with the things they've gone wrong, the BBC has delivered an outstanding range of content to licence.' Davie later turned his attention to the Gaza: How To Survive A Warzone documentary, after a review found it had breached the corporation's editorial guidelines on accuracy. The programme was removed from BBC iPlayer in February after it emerged that the child narrator, Abdullah, is the son of Ayman Alyazouri, who has worked as Hamas's deputy minister of agriculture. Davie added: 'There was a breach of our editorial guidelines, there was no breach on impartiality and no evidence of any outside interest impact on the programme. 'But there was a breach of accuracy, and that is not acceptable, so we are taking action to ensure proper accountability and we're taking immediate steps to stop a failing like this being repeated. 'Despite this mistake, I do want to credit thousands of people across the BBC for delivering such brave impartial journalism despite immense challenges and very significant personal pressure. 'Personally, I remain utterly committed to delivering impartial coverage without fear or favour. It is needed now more than ever in this polarising world.' On Monday, Ofcom announced it would investigate the documentary under its broadcasting code, which states factual programmes 'must not materially mislead the audience'.

Prestatyn Carnival 2025 this weekend - all you need to know
Held on Saturday (July 19), the carnival will be based on Bastion Road Field (open from 11am), while the festivities will also involve a parade, starting from the top of High Street at 12pm. First held in 1921, the carnival this year will feature more than 70 stalls, a Welsh craft tent, funfair rides, retro carnival games, paintball, birds of prey, street food, a dog show, a baby show, and the coronation of Prestatyn's royal family. Entry to the carnival, which is organised by the Prestatyn Carnival Association, is free of charge, while dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead. Prestatyn Carnival 2024 (Image: Newsquest) The parade travels down High Street, turning left into Bridge Road, then making its way over the railway bridge, before turning into Bastion Road, then turning right into Beach Road East, and onto the carnival field via Beach Close. You can email admin@ if you would like to take part in the parade, or register your entry on the morning of the carnival between 10.30-11.15am outside Bodnant Community School. It is free to take part in the parade, unless you are entering the mayor's theme competition - entry for this is £10 and payable in cash at Bodnant Community School. Judging of competition entries will start at 11.30am (mayor's theme award – 'iconic films', best entry from a charity/voluntary group or school, best entry by a business, best visiting queen's vehicle, best fancy dress entry). At the carnival, on-site parking is available at £1 per vehicle. Co. At 3.30pm, the North Wales Empress of Carnival Contest, now in its 69th year, gets underway (entry costs £2-5). Stall holders must arrive at the carnival field between 7-10am, with designated free parking available for all performers and stall holders. The carnival will remain open until approximately 8pm on Saturday evening.
