I have been and I will be in India - whatever people are saying that I have fled to another country is wrong."Earlier, the bench adjourned the hearing of the case as her counsel told the bench that a counter-affidavit had been filed on her behalf, but it was not showing on the court's record. The top court asked the Delhi police to complete the probe fast and asked why it was not completing the investigation when Khedkar herself had said it in an affidavit that she was willing to cooperate.Khedkar is accused of fraudulently availing a reservation meant for Other Backwards Classes (OBC) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities in order to secure a seat by taking the UPSC exam The Delhi High Court while dismissing anticipatory bail plea had made strong observations against Khedkar saying that its a "classic example of fraud, not only with a Constitutional body but also with society and the nation as a whole."The High Court had emphasised that interrogation is necessary to uncover the conspiracy involved. The Uttar Pradesh state commission for backward classes will send a delegation to Kaushambi to probe a recent incident of a fake rape case involving an 8-year-old girl from Lohanda Dhana Saini village of that district. As per the police probe, no rape was committed there and a false FIR was lodged by the girl's father. The commission took the decision at a meeting convened to discuss several issues on Tuesday. The committee will be led by the OBC commission's vice chairman Surya Prakash Pal and will include members Vinod Kumar, Baba Balak Das, Richa Rajput and Ashok Kumar. However, police probe revealed that no rape occurred. The girl's father, upset by this incident, filed a false rape case against the man. The police registered a case and submitted a charge sheet against the accused on the same day. However, during the investigation, the special investigation team found inconsistencies in the statements of the girl and the eyewitness. The boy, who was with the girl during the incident, said the man had slapped the girl after he was hit by a brick but there was no rape. Based on the investigation, the police removed the charges under the POCSO Act and rape sections from the case. The accused's father consumed poison and died after the incident, leading to widespread protests in the village. The locals even blocked the highway, demanding justice for the accused's family.

Police detain Vatal Nagaraj for protesting against IPS officers' suspension, govt. handling of stampede
The Vidhana Soudha police on Tuesday detained Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj after he, along with his supporters, marched to the Raj Bhavan protesting against the government's handling of the stampede case. Mr. Nagaraj walked to the Raj Bhavan along with his supporters but was stopped by the police and taken to the station from where he was released later. He demanded that the government increase the compensation for the victims to ₹5 crore, and condemned the government's decision to suspend police officials. 'The permission to celebrate both at the Vidhana Soudha and at the stadium was granted by the government. I want to ask them, before deciding on the celebrations, did you consult the senior police officers – no you didn't. You should be the one to take the responsibility for this,' Mr. Nagaraj said. The fact that the Police Commissioner was suspended for no fault of his was disrespectful, he alleged. 'The Home Minister won't resign and I won't ask for it. But by suspending an honest Police Commissioner, you have led to a drop in the morale of the State's police force. What about the role of the responsible IAS officers? I thought you [Siddaramaiah] instead of suspending the Police Commissioner, would remove at least three of your responsible Ministers. If you had done this, you would've been remembered in the history,' he said.
