Cindyana Santangelo dies at 58, remembered for Jane's Addiction and TV roles
Cindyana Santangelo, a model, actress, and rock music muse, has died at 58 following a medical emergency at her Malibu home, TMZ reported. She was pronounced dead Monday at a local hospital in Los Angeles. While the exact cause of death remains unclear, sources told the outlet she had recently undergone unspecified cosmetic injections.
Authorities with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department have found no signs of foul play, though an autopsy is pending to determine the cause of death.
Also known as Cindyana Lair, she was born in New York City to Puerto Rican, Italian, and Hungarian parents. Raised on the West Coast, she moved to London at age 19 to study acting, according to her IMDb biography.
Santangelo worked in both television and film from the early 1990s through 2009, with guest roles in popular series including CSI: Miami, ER, and Married… with Children. She also made a mark in the music world, starring in Young MC's 1989 video for 'Bust a Move' and Jane's Addiction's 1990 video for 'Stop'.
She's perhaps best remembered for her spoken-word intro on Jane's Addiction's influential album 'Ritual de lo Habitual', where she boldly declares in Spanish that the band had 'more influence over your children than you do.'
In a 2003 Spin Magazine interview, Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell called her 'the Latin Marilyn Monroe,' recalling, 'We met her, and I thought, 'Holy Mother, this girl is just gorgeous.''
Her passing marks the loss of a distinctive presence who bridged the worlds of television, fashion, and alternative music culture.

Khaby Lame ICE arrest rumor spreads after activist post sparks online speculation
Rumors have gone viral claiming that TikTok megastar Khabane 'Khaby' Lame was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Las Vegas. The speculation originated from conservative activist Bo Loudon, who posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Lame had been detained for allegedly overstaying a visa and evading taxes. Loudon claimed he tipped off ICE himself and included what he said was a screenshot from the ICE detainee locator showing Lame at the Henderson Detention Center. 🔥🚨BREAKING: Legendary liberal TikTok influencer Khaby Lame just got arrested and is now in ICE custody after Bo London reported the influencer. Bo London: 'I discovered he was an illegal who overstayed an invalid VISA, evaded taxes, and I personally took action to have him… — Dom Lucre | Breaker of Narratives (@dom_lucre) June 6, 2025 However, as of June 7, there has been no official confirmation from ICE, the Department of Homeland Security, or Lame's representatives. Independent searches using the A-number provided by Loudon yielded no results, and Lame's name does not appear in the ICE detainee system. Khaby Lame, a Senegalese-born Italian national, rose to international fame during the COVID-19 pandemic for his silent TikTok videos that humorously critique overly complex life hacks. With over 162 million followers, he became the platform's most-followed creator by 2025. His fame has expanded beyond social media: he's been featured on Forbes' 30 Under 30, Fortune's 40 Under 40, walked the 2025 Met Gala red carpet, and was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador earlier this year. While online speculation continues, legal experts caution against drawing conclusions from unverified information. 'Even if someone appears in a detainee system, that doesn't confirm legal wrongdoing,' said immigration attorney Julia Price. She added that Lame's dual Italian-Senegalese citizenship could further complicate the legal picture. The episode underscores concerns about immigration misinformation and politically charged online narratives. Despite the lack of evidence, many fans are expressing shock and support across social media. 'I just want the truth,' said Zoe, a 17-year-old TikTok user from Chicago.

Netizens react as ‘Love Island USA' season 7 contestant Yulissa Escobar exits show amid racist clips backlash
Yulissa Escobar has unexpectedly left Love Island USA Season 7 shortly after the series' second episode. The reason behind her departure has not been officially revealed, but the timing follows the resurfacing of clips in which she reportedly uses racial slurs. In episode two, series narrator Ian Stirling made a brief announcement about 18 minutes in, saying, 'Yulissa has left the villa.' Escobar had been coupled up with Ace Greene, but Stirling also mentioned that Greene was now single. While Peacock has yet to comment on the situation, the controversy surrounding Escobar began shortly after the season seven cast was announced. Clips from a podcast, which were obtained by TMZ, show Escobar allegedly using the N-word multiple times. The backlash was swift on social media, with many calling for accountability. Escobar has not yet responded to the allegations as she remains in the villa, where contestants are not allowed to have personal phones. Fans have expressed mixed reactions on social media, with some celebrating her exit, while others criticise the producers for allowing such behaviour to continue on the show. One user on X questioned, 'How did TikTok do more of a background check on that Yulissa girl than the Love Island producers?' ‘Italian genius' Inzaghi to coach Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal
RIYADH: Former Inter boss Simone Inzaghi was revealed as the new coach of Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal on Thursday, days before they take part in the new-look Club World Cup. The Italian, who led Inter to a heavy defeat in Saturday's Champions League final, had earlier played down rumours of a two-year deal worth 50 million euros. 'I am Simone Inzaghi and today begins my story with Al Hilal,' he said in a slickly produced video posted on X, in which he sips Arabian coffee and pins an Al Hilal lapel badge on his suit. Inzaghi, 49, becomes just the latest high-profile footballing acquisition for oil-rich Saudi Arabia, which will host the World Cup in 2034. 'The Italian genius is here,' Al Hilal posted. 'Welcome, Simone Inzaghi.' Inzaghi joins the likes of Ruben Neves and Aleksandar Mitrovic at Al Hilal, which let injury-hit Neymar go in January after just seven appearances since his arrival in August 2023. A source with knowledge of the negotiations last week told AFP that the 'first option' for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has signalled he is leaving rival club Al Nassr, could be a move to Al Hilal. Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes this week said he rejected Al Hilal's reported $135 million offer because he wanted to 'continue to play at the highest level'. Neymar in talks to leave Saudi team Al-Hilal: club source Inzaghi's Inter slumped 5-0 to Qatar-funded Paris Saint-Germain in Saturday's Champions League final. His departure was confirmed on Tuesday. The former forward guided Inter to one Serie A title and two Italian Cups since joining in 2021. He took them to two Champions League finals in three seasons but lost both. On track to repeat the treble heroics of 2010 just a few weeks ago, Inter ended the season trophyless after falling away in each competition. Inter, PSG, Real Madrid and Manchester City are also among the 32 teams at the expanded Club World Cup, which starts on June 15.
