Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz 'have NO contact with celeb pals from his former life in the UK' as he unfollows them on social media and snubs them from vow renewal

Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have 'no contact with his celeb pals from the UK', after failing to invite them to their lavish vow renewal. Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 31, said 'I do' for a second time on August 2 in Westchester County in front of her family, with the Beckham clan nowhere in sight amid their ongoing 'feud'. Also absent from the event were former members of Brooklyn's entourage - including fellow nepobabies Rocco Richie and Gordon Ramsay 's brood, as well as Anais Gallagher. It appears Brooklyn isn't in contact with several of them anymore, as he no longer follows Anais, Rocco or Holly Ramsay on Instagram, and vice versa - despite many of them still following Brooklyn's brothers. A source told The Sun: 'It seems like a real shutdown - Brooklyn has no contact with friends from his former life in the UK. 'Rocco, Selena, the Ramsay kids - none of them have even liked the wedding pics after Nicola posted, let alone commented to congratulate them. 'Things have gone very cold with his old friends - it's like the marriage to Nicola meant he started a whole new life with new people around him. 'It's really sad but clearly people have sensed a shift in his life and priorities.' Insiders previously told Daily Mail that Brooklyn's parents are concerned his wife Nicola holds disproportionate sway in her marriage to their son. They said: 'They think Nicola is a bit of a horror but she isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Nicola loves having Brooklyn at her side and she loves him very much. But he is also very useful. 'The wider Beckham family and Brooklyn's friends – many of whom he no longer sees – take the view that he does what Nicola wants. From Beckhams' point of view, it's not nice to watch.' Daily Mail has contacted Brooklyn and Nicola's representatives for comment. Brooklyn and Nicola's vow renewal was a glamorous affair packed with family, fashion and friends earlier this month. Yet as more pictures of both the big day and the after-party come to light, it is becoming increasingly more apparent that the festivities were fairly one-sided - with most of the guestlist comprising Brooklyn's post-Nicola peers and pals. The most glaring absence came from Brooklyn's family - mum Victoria, 51, dad David, 50, brothers Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20 and his sister Harper, 14 - due to the ongoing feud rumbling among the group, who were not informed of the vow renewal. While his family are holidaying in St Tropez, Brooklyn partied the night away at his wife's family's estate in Westchester County on August 2, with Nicola's family, members of her glam squad, her acting coach and fellow actors. The lack of Brooklyn's side sparked widespread chat on social media, including comments from fans who likened their relationship to that of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - after the royal turned his back on his family and moved to the US. When Brooklyn and Nicola first tied the knot in 2022, they hosted a three-day Palm Beach extravaganza, which saw 500 guests party in no-expense-spared marquees in front of the ocean - where both families stood front and centre . Fast- forward three years and the change is remarkable, with no sign of the Beckham parents or the siblings Brooklyn held so close to his heart. In their place is the entirety of the Peltz clan - with Nicola's mother Claudia, 70, and her father Nelson, 83, holding all-star roles on the day. At the 2022 festivities, during the Hora - also known as the Jewish wedding chair dance - where the bride and groom are lifted on chairs while guests dance around them in a circle, David was also lifted up on a seat. Brooklyn's brothers acted as his Dior-clad groomsmen at the event although their positions have officially been occupied by the in-laws. Nicola has six brothers, all of whom Brooklyn is fond however he is very close to her brother Diesel, who introduced him to his bride. As well as swapping siblings, it has also been revealed that Brooklyn has shunned some of his old friends - as illustrated by his wedding pictures. Sources close to the Beckhams previously stated that they have concern that Nicola holds disproportionate sway in her marriage to their son. They said: 'They think Nicola is a bit of a horror but she isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Nicola loves having Brooklyn at her side and she loves him very much. But he is also very useful. 'The wider Beckham family and Brooklyn's friends – many of whom he no longer sees – take the view that he does what Nicola wants . From Beckhams' point of view, it's not nice to watch.' One group shot from the wedding featured a host of guests seemingly known only to Brooklyn via his wife, thanks to their presence in the acting and beauty worlds. One playful shot gave a glimpse into the guestlist, who are all VERY well connected and on the LA celebrity circuit. On the left of the new inner circle photo is actor Benny Buckley, an actor who has just one credit on IMDB for a role he had as 'teen boy' in Nicola Peltz's film Lola last year. His father, Andy Buckley, is also an actor most famous for playing David Wallace, the CEO of Dunder Mifflin in the US adaptation of The Office. Next is Daniel Moon, the hair colourist known for experimenting with wild and bright shades. He has worked with a myriad of A List celebrities including Kanye West, Katy Perry and Madonna. Hunter Moreno, standing with his arm slung around Brooklyn's shoulders in the photo, is a cinematographer and creative director who works often with famous musicians and actors - including the Peltz-Beckham's close friend Selena Gomez. He is also rumoured to be dating actress Brittany Snow who had a role in the Pitch Perfect movies. Also in the picture are Eran and Ariel Shapov who both run a company called Superior Home Remodeling that specialises in high end home renovations in California. Crouched on the floor in front of Eran is Jeremy Clerc. He is the CEO of a company named Assists that is based in New York and operates senior housing communities. He, Nicola and Brooklyn go back before the family feud began and he was once photographed with Romeo. Next up is Georgi Sandev, a make up artist who has worked with some of the most famous models in the world including Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss and has been involved in shoots for magazines including Vogue and Vanity Fair. He also created Nicola's look for her visit to Coachella music festival this year and posted pictures of the results on his Instagram. Picture on the far right of the inner circle photo is creative branding agency owner Dominic J West who works frequently with Kylie Jenner's ex boyfriend Tyga and Selena Gomez. The final person in the photo is Anthony Barillo, a flamboyant real estate agent who sells multi-million dollar properties in LA. Creative director and photographer Hunter Moreno, designer Eran Shapov and Ariel Shapov were also in the picture. Nicola has grown up surrounded by the support of her six brothers, and she previously revealed that it was actually her sibling Diesel who introduced her to Brooklyn. 'I actually met Brooklyn like six years ago at Coachella, through one of my brothers; his name is Diesel,' the actress revealed in an interview with Wonderland Magazine in 2022. She recalled how the now-married couple were both with other partners at the time, admitting: 'We really didn't get along. He had a girlfriend and I had a boyfriend, and we just didn't click at all.' 'Diesel was like, "Oh my friend Brooklyn wants to crash at our house", because all my brothers rented a house for Coachella. We barely interacted. We look back at pictures, like group pictures, and I'm with my boyfriend and Brooklyn's in the corner.'

Braveheart is a load of bollocks, says Brian Cox

Scotland's greatest living male actor has finally admitted what the rest of the world suspected — Braveheart is 'bollocks'. Brian Cox, who agreed to star in the 1995 Oscar-winning film after repeated entreaties from its director and star Mel Gibson, said the script was 'crap' and that liberties were taken with historical accuracy. 'The film is just bollocks. It doesn't make any sense,' the 79-year-old actor told the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Cox revealed that he had initially turned down Braveheart, instead opting to perform in Rob Roy — another Scottish historical epic that was due to be shot at the same time. He said Gibson then pleaded with him to take a part in the film and Cox finally relented. 'I said, well, there is a very good part at the beginning, a guy called Argyle but I'm wrong for him because he should be cadaverous and thin. And he [Gibson] said: 'No, you can play it.' Cox added: 'I just didn't want to be in a kilt. Of course they didn't have kilts in those days but they had to have kilts [in the film] because that is what it is about.' In response to questioning from film critic Mark Kermode, Cox agreed the film was 'tosh-like', adding: 'It is a f***ing lie, the whole thing.' Braveheart, which won the best picture Oscar, has been lauded by generations of Scottish nationalist politicians, with the late Alex Salmond's Alba Party even channelling the film in a 2021 campaign advert. At its premiere in 1995, Salmond — in reference to the film's central character William Wallace being hung, drawn and quartered in London — said he would 'decapitate' his then political opponent, Michael Forsyth. He later ended a party conference speech echoing Wallace's battle cry from the film: 'Freedom, freedom, freedom'. It is generally accepted that the film, which charts Scotland's 14th-century fight for independence from England, was a boon for the Scottish nationalist cause. The SNP recorded its highest poll ratings in seven years immediately after its release. From its release, however, there were huge question marks over its historical accuracy, with the central romance between Wallace, played by Gibson, and Isabella of France, played by Sophie Marceau, entirely fabricated. One historian reportedly found 18 inaccuracies in the first two and a half minutes of the film, which still received ten Academy Award nominations. It won five, including best director for Gibson. Cox said that he had been drawn to the film because of Gibson, adding: 'He is great. Mel is wonderful to work with. He gets a bad rap but actually he is a really good man. I saw him deal with some lads [on the film] who were alcoholically inclined and he used to deal with them absolutely beautifully.' The script by Randall Wallace, which was based on the 15th-century poem The Wallace, by Blind Harry, earned the writer an Oscar nomination. The actor has been in Edinburgh playing the economist Adam Smith in James Graham's latest play, Make it Happen, the big hit of the Edinburgh Festival. Cox, who has become known to new generations through his role as Logan Roy in the drama series Succession, has also been working on his directorial debut, Glenrothan, which he stars in with Alan Cumming. It is due to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month. He also told the book festival he had postponed a planned solo talking tour after listening to his family, who had pleaded with him to reduce his workload. 'My family have been urging me to do it [have a break],' he said. 'Both my sons were worried about me. I'm fine but they do worry about me. And yeah maybe I have gone a wee bit too far. Maybe I have just got to stop.' Which means, one assumes, a Braveheart sequel is definitely not on the cards.
