New Delhi: In a major revelation, some leaders of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) have claimed that the organisation played a role in the massive anti-government protests in Bangladesh last year, which led to the removal of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) is the banned organization led by Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed. JuD leader Saifullah Kasuri and UN-designated terrorist Mujammil Hashmi made these claims during inflammatory speeches earlier this week.

While addressing the people, Kasuri admitted that the body of one of his associates, Mudassir, was blown to pieces in an Indian airstrike on May 7 at Muridke (the JuD/LeT headquarters). Kasuri said, 'I was not granted permission to attend his funeral. I cried a lot on the day of his funeral.'
It is important to note that he did not clarify who had stopped him from attending Mudassir's funeral. On the other hand, senior military, police, and administrative officials from Pakistan's Punjab province were among those who attended the funerals of Mudassir and two other JuD members, and photos of the event have surfaced. DHAKA: At least 20 political parties, including former PM Khaleda Zia's BNP, Monday rejected Bangladesh chief adviser Muhammad Yunus 's extended time frame for conducting national election, demanding it be held by Dec. Sources, however, said three political parties, including the radical Jamaat-e-Islami and NCP launched by Nahid Islam who led the anti-Sheikh Hasina movement last year, are reportedly supporting Yunus's time frame of holding the poll between Dec 2025 and June 2026. "There is not a single valid reason to push the national election after Dec and BNP expects a 'neutral role' from Muhammad Yunus in taking a final decision," BNP member Salahuddin Ahmed said after the National Consensus Commission dialogue with Yunus. This was the second round of talks between political parties and the Yunus-headed interim govt on the election - pending since last year following the fall of the Hasina-led govt. In Monday's meeting, all but three political parties have demanded elections by Dec, Gono Odhikar Parishad chief Nurul Haque Nur said. Yunus expressed optimism about finalising a broadly accepted 'July Charter' - an agreement built through collective understanding among parties after the ouster of the Hasina govt. Salahuddin hoped Yunus will consider Dec for conducting the election. He also argued the commission has already taken significant time and election before year-end remains feasible. "Full consensus may not be support reforms that benefit the nation and ensure inclusion of all," he added.

Jaishankar, Paraguay Foreign Minister sign MoU to establish Joint Commission Mechanism
New Delhi [India], June 3 (ANI): India and Paraguay on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Joint Commission Mechanism (JCM). The agreement was signed by External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, and Paraguay Foreign Minister Ruben Ramirez L, in New Delhi. 'Concluded an MoU with FM @rramirezlezcano for establishment of Joint Commission Mechanism (JCM) between India and Paraguay. A significant step in widening our dialogue and cooperation,' Jaishankar said in a post on X. Earlier in the day, PM Modi held talks with Paraguayan President Santiago Pena at Hyderabad House. The two leaders discussed enhancing cooperation in a range of sectors including agriculture, Pharma, technology, renewable energy and health. 'Had a productive meeting with the President of Paraguay, Santiago Pena in Delhi. Paraguay is a valued partner in South America and our nations are connected by shared values,' PM Modi said in a post on X. 'Our talks covered diverse subjects, prime among which was close economic cooperation. There is immense potential in boosting trade linkages. We see sectors such as digital technology, critical minerals, energy, agriculture, health and space as key areas where our nations can work together,' he added. President Pena strongly condemned the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and expressed solidarity with the India. The leaders also exchanged views on global and regional issues of mutual interest. 'PM @narendramodi held wide-ranging talks with President @SantiPenap of Paraguay at Hyderabad House. They discussed enhancing cooperation in the fields on agriculture, Pharma, technology, renewable energy, health, critical minerals, railways & people to people contacts,' Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, said in a post on X. 'President @SantiPenap strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam & expressed solidarity with the Indian people. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Ministers, senior officials and business representatives. President Pena will also visit Mumbai. In Mumbai, President Pena will meet the state political leadership, business and industry representatives, startups, innovators and tech leaders. The State Visit of President Pena is the second visit to India by a President of Paraguay India and Paraguay established diplomatic relations on September 13, 1961, cultivating warm and friendly ties between the two nations. Indian all-party delegation discusses counter-terrorism cooperation with Egypt's Foreign Affairs Council
Cairo [Egypt], June 3 (ANI): A Group 7 delegation of Indian parliamentarians, led by Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Supriya Sule, met with Egypt's Foreign Affairs Council in Cairo, engaging in comprehensive discussions on counter-terrorism and global security collaboration. The delegation arrived at Cairo International Airport on Monday as part of a multi-nation diplomatic visit and was received by the Ambassador of India to Egypt, Suresh K Reddy. Former Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Egyptian Foreign Affairs Council, Mohamed Orabi, lauded India's measured and constructive approach to recent global crises, particularly those linked to terrorism. 'Egypt has always appreciated Indian policy, and I think your prudent approach to the last crisis was very appreciated. We suffered a lot from terrorism in many shapes and means. Any attempts or any policy to curb terrorist attacks anywhere will be supported by Egypt,' said Orabi. The Indian side highlighted concerns around cross-border terrorism, especially emanating from Pakistan. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Anurag Thakur, a member of the delegation, referred to Pakistan's long-standing involvement in major global terror incidents. 'We had successful meetings here. Cross-border terrorism by Pakistan has become a matter of worry for our country and the entire world. From 9/11 to 26/11, Pakistan has been involved in all such terrorist acts. The way the African Union has defined terrorism, when the countries in the world come together as a global coalition against terrorism, then only we can have a cure for this,' Thakur stated.
