Hina Khan says working gives her ‘happiness and strength' in battle against cancer, why coping mechanisms are important to deal with trauma
Hina's decision to share her journey publicly stemmed from a desire to normalise conversations about cancer. 'The reason I wanted to normalise it from the day I got to know about my diagnosis was that I knew I have to keep going and behave as normal as I can be,' she shared in an interview with Hindustan Times. Her resolve shone through as she balanced treatment with work, even participating in a ramp walk during her chemo cycles and completing small campaigns from home. 'Whatever little I could do gave me so much happiness and strength,' she reflected.

Now in recovery, Hina has resumed her professional commitments with renewed vigour. Promoting her new show, Griha Laxmi, and diving into future projects, she finds solace and strength in her routine. 'I love this routine—reading scripts, talking to my team about my wardrobe for the day, discussing who we're walking for or what designer we're working with. All of this excites me,' she said, adding, 'The only thing in this entire world which keeps me away and on my toes, and I forget what is happening in the world, is my work.'
Counselling psychologist Srishti Vatsa highlights how work can play a pivotal role in regaining a sense of normalcy during challenging times. 'Finding strength in work brings not just purpose but also happiness, giving you something meaningful to focus on,' she explains. A structured day—starting with small rituals like sipping morning coffee or diving into tasks—helps create a sense of control amidst chaos.
For individuals battling critical illnesses, work becomes more than a routine; it's a reminder of their resilience and capabilities. It provides a way to reconnect with normalcy and rediscover joy and purpose. 'It's about reclaiming an identity that's tied to what you love or contribute, even when life feels uncertain,' Vatsa adds.

Radhika Madan supports Deepika Padukone's 8-hour shift demand: 'Male actors are given that privilege'
As the dialogues continue around the grueling nature of shoot schedules, Radhika Madan has also expressed her displeasure regarding the imbalance of hours between male and female actors in the industry, having appeared in 'Angrezi Medium', 'Pataakha', 'Shiddat', and 'Sarfira'. The topic gained recent attention following Deepika Padukone 's departure from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's upcoming film Spirit, where she was said to have asked for an eight-hour workday, which prompted renewed discussion around work-life balance and gender inequity within Bollywood. Radhika Madan on eight-hour shoot days The actress told Hindustan Times that she has had both 12-to-14-hour days of shooting and shorter days of eight hours. She believes that the work itself is the same, but working against deadlines allows the team to be more committed and concentrated, therefore, the shoot takes place within that time. She said she has seen films filmed, and released, and even be box office successes, all under these turns of time, and if she had not seen it herself, she would not have believed it to be possible to work and achieve, within working hours. On equality in Bollywood At a recent event, Radhika addressed the ongoing discussion regarding workplace equality in the Bollywood industry. She added that whenever women stand by working conditions equal to their male counterparts, those demands should be treated as commonplace rather than unreasonable claims. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Resmed AirSense 11 with flat 20% off ResMed Buy Now Undo She affirmed that these kinds of discussions can be collaborative when the respect and understanding are mutual, and she also pointed out that part of the concern comes from the availability of time privileges that some male actors have but not many women. Touching upon her own experience with professional burnout, Madan recalled the toll of working across seven projects in a single year. She shared that the emotional weight of multiple roles affected her deeply, leading to depression and forcing her to seek help. According to her, the industry needs to recognize the reality of burnout and move towards greater equality—without favouring male actors with special treatment. Recalls her marathon shoot days During a recent YouTube vlog with Farah Khan, the actress revisited her debut experience and the grueling schedule that came with it. When Farah remarked that Radhika probably didn't have an eight-hour shift on her first show, Radhika responded that she had endured non-stop shoots lasting 48 to 56 hours. Farah then added her own perspective, noting that she doesn't advocate for the eight-hour work model either, quipping that such relentless effort is what creates something truly valuable—comparing it to how gold is forged through intense pressure.

Raveena Tandon Confirms Aranyak Season 2 ‘Is Not Happening'
Last Updated: Raveena Tandon confirms Aranyak season 2 isn't happening. Despite fan hopes, she says the script didn't meet expectations and the platform hasn't moved forward. Raveena Tandon made her OTT web series debut with the 2021 hit Aranyak. With the thriller becoming an instant success upon release, fans anticipated that the series would return for another season. However, it looks like fans will be disappointed, as Raveena Tandon has officially confirmed that there has been no development regarding Aranyak season two — and honestly, it's not on the cards. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Raveena shared, 'It's not happening," and added, 'Now I can say it. Earlier, we all had hope. In fact, I think season two was written as well, but I am not sure what the platform has in mind. Every time they say, 'Oh my God, it was a great show and one of our highest-viewed shows immediately after COVID.' That was a role so close to my heart, and I loved playing that character. But I don't think they were able to crack a good script for season two. And then the expectations were so high, so they didn't want to spoil that." Raveena Tandon marked her digital debut with the Netflix original thriller series Aranyak, which premiered on December 10, 2021. Her portrayal of Kasturi Dogra, an investigating officer from Himachal Pradesh, won her rave reviews from critics and the audience alike. The show turned out to be one of the most popular series of that year and remained in Netflix's top ten list for several months. Written by Charudutt Acharya and directed by Vinay Waikul, the story is based on the famous Bengali novel of the same name authored by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay. It revolves around political ploys, personal agendas, and the myth of a murderous entity that emerges as two mismatched hill station police officers navigate a web of suspects after a puzzling murder. The show also stars Parambrata Chatterjee and Ashutosh Rana. Raveena Tandon, one of the most charismatic actresses of the 1990s, has established a unique place in Indian cinema with her beauty, talent, and versatility. She made a remarkable debut in Bollywood with the 1991 film Patthar Ke Phool, opposite Salman Khan. The film was a commercial success and earned her the Filmfare Award for Lux New Face of the Year, quickly positioning her as a rising star in the industry.
