One key WWE singles championship changed hands on the "Night of Champions 2025" card thanks to the debut of a former NJPW star.

The PLE is currently taking place inside Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. Fans already witnessed Cody Rhodes defeat Randy Orton to become the King of the Ring. Rhea Ripley defeated Raquel Rodriguez in a street fight, while Sami Zayn outlasted Karrion Kross.
While the first three matches at the "Night of Champions" event saw fan favorites pick up wins, it was a different story with the WWE United States Championship match. Jacob Fatu lost the gold to Solo Sikoa thanks to the promotional debut of former NJPW name Hikuleo.
Hikuleo had been featured in dark matches before recent airings of "SmackDown." Many speculated that he could eventually align with Sikoa to cost Fatu the WWE United States Championship, and that's exactly what happened.

The former IWGP Tag Team Champion wasn't the only surprise during the match at "Night of Champions." Tonga Loa made his return from injury. He delivered a spinning neckbreaker to Fatu off a distraction from JC Mateo.
Sikoa's faction continues to grow on the blue brand. There is another member of his group who is currently sidelined due to an injury. Tama Tonga was put on the shelf just before "WrestleMania 41," and it's unknown what the timeline looks like for a return.
For now, Sikoa is content with Mateo, Loa, and Hikuleo. At this time, it isn't known if Hikuleo will keep his current name or if WWE will give him the rumored Talla Tonga label.

Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill earn title shots at SummerSlam as they're crowned King and Queen of the Ring

The finals of the King and the Queen of the Ring tournaments came to an end on Saturday at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, and it came with major stakes attached. Cody Rhodes defeated Randy Orton on the men's side, and Jade Cargill defeated Asuka in the women's bracket. "The American Nightmare" pushed Orton into the exposed turnbuckle and put him into the Cross Rhodes. He pinned Orton for the win and was given the crown. "I am well aware. I hear each and every one of you. This is an arduous path. First, Jey Uso, the most beloved character in all of WWE. Then, the modern locker room later, the man, Randy Orton. And at SummerSlam, that means I'm facing either CM Punk or John Cena," Rhodes said. "And I completely get how you feel as an audience when I go up against these beloved characters, but I want you to hear it from me — I was born to do this. Whenther it be CM Punk or John Cena, they are holding onto that belt for themselves, and they are holding onto it for me, because at SummerSlam I get the ball back." Asuka nearly had the storm that Cargill brought to Riyadh tamed. She had Cargill in a submission hold, but Cargill was able to get out of it and break free. Cargill interrupted Asuka's "Empress Impact" and hit her with "Jaded." "When I first entered this tournament, it felt like the world was on my shoulders. But, you know, for the people out there who are doubting themselves, praise yourself because you are fighting through the boos. Don't let them tell you who you are — you show them," she said after the match. "And the grind don't' stop. A storm is coming for SummerSlam." Rhodes and Cargill both have world title shots at SummerSlam guaranteed with their King and Queen of the Ring tournament wins. Rhodes is likely to go up against John Cena in rematch of WrestleMania 41 for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Cena defeated CM Punk to retain the title early in the night. Both Cena and Punk thwarted Seth Rollins' cash-in attempt. But Rollins got the last laugh when he stomped Punk, screwing him out of a title. Cargill will either target Tiffany Stratton or Iyo Sky for their women's titles. Stratton hung on to her belt on "Friday Night SmackDown" in a win against Nia Jax in a Last Woman Standing Match. Sky regained gold in March with a win over Rhea Ripley. All women will also have to have Naomi in the back of their minds as she won the women's Money in the Bank ladder match. There are still two major events before the WWE gets to SummerSlam in August. The all-female premium live event Evolution 2 will take place on July 11, and Saturday Night's Main Event will take place on July 12. Man City's Guardiola 'understands' Klopp Club World Cup critique

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola said he understands former Liverpool rival Jurgen Klopp's complaint about the Club World Cup (PATRICIA DE MELO MOREIRA) Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola said Sunday he can see Jurgen Klopp's point after the former Liverpool coach labelled the Club World Cup "the worst idea ever implemented in football". However the Catalan also said he wants his team to win FIFA's heavily criticised newly expanded competition this summer in the United States, noting many of the complaints have come from teams which did not reach the tournament. Advertisement Klopp, currently Red Bull's "head of global soccer", told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag the crowded calendar meant there was no time for players to recover mentally or physically and he had serious concern over possible injuries. "Jurgen -- we fought together many, many times, I know where the idea comes from, we fought a lot in England, when we went to UEFA meetings, especially on the Premier League, (about) the calendar, to try to (increase the) quality," Guardiola told reporters. "So the players rest, and the managers rest, (then) you have more quality, so it didn't surprise me, I understand him, I respect him. "I have an incredible relationship with Jurgen, when we were rivals... I understand his argument, because his argument I would defend as well." Advertisement Guardiola's side are in the last 16 of the competition and face Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal on Monday in Orlando. The coach said despite the criticism the tournament has received, he is "proud" to be competing to win it. "At the same time we're in a job, we follow FIFA, UEFA, Premier League, Serie A... the managers are not going to organise the competitions, everyone has their own role, they organise the competitions," continued Guardiola. "I have said many times, I am so proud to be here, because in the end many, many teams complain about the competitions, because they are not here, otherwise they would love maybe to be there. Advertisement "Their media will be here, their supporters will be here, there will be their income in terms of money to be here, and they will be happy to be there." Man City have won six of the last eight Premier League titles with Liverpool claiming the other two, including last season. England coach Thomas Tuchel said Arne Slot's Reds and Arsenal have an advantage on City for the upcoming campaign because they are resting during the summer. "I try to not think about it, otherwise I will be so anxious," added Guardiola. "So I try to be relaxed, to enjoy the days here, the good vibes that we have, the competition, to try to win it." rbs/rcw

Woman Defends Mentioning Husband's Deployment to Middle East on TikTok After She's Accused of 'Breaking OPSEC' (Exclusive)

Cassady Yarbrough is a military spouse whose husband is currently deployed overseas Following the news of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, she took to TikTok to post a video she believed to be harmless Commenters thought otherwise and accused her of "breaking OPSEC"Cassady Yarbrough is a stay-at-home mother who often shares candid lifestyle content, including the unique challenges of life as a military spouse with a deployed husband in the Army Reserve. "Each deployment brings its own emotions. It's always hard to say goodbye, and even though I've been through it before, it never gets easier - just more familiar," she tells PEOPLE exclusively. "I'm naturally pretty independent, and I've learned how to manage things on my own, especially while taking care of our two girls." On June 24, 2025, she revealed that her husband was deployed in the Middle East on TikTok. In the clip, Yarbrough is seen mouthing the words to a popular audio track: "I wanna be sparkly, in pinks and purples, but the world is on fire and I am angry." "But I just saw there is a cease I don't need to be angry anymore," she captioned the video, referencing the ceasefire agreement brokered between Iran and Israel one day prior. "This is actually his fourth time deploying to the Middle East - once before we met when he was in the Marine Corps, and this is our third time since we've been together," Yarbrough explains. "I'd be lying if I said the current situation doesn't feel a little more intense. But based on where he is and what he's doing, I don't feel overly worried. We've been through this before and trust each other completely." Earlier in the week, President Donald Trump announced that the United States had bombed three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan. Iran responded by launching a missile strike against a U.S. military base in Qatar. With tension escalating between Israel and Iran – especially after the two countries reportedly broke the ceasefire Trump announced on June 23 – viewers cautioned the 33-year-old mom from Nebraska to be more careful with what she reveals online. In the comments, other military wives and soldiers chimed in on whether Yarbrough was "breaking OPSEC" (Operational Security) with her video. 'As an army wife myself, please don't post things like this,' one commenter wrote. 'Always respect OPSEC, for the safety of your husband, my husband, and all other soldiers!!" Another commenter took to Yarbrough's defense, writing, 'Girl, we're not at war with anyone. YET there's no OPSEC and the Middle East is a very vague term. She's fine. - As a soldier.' An official from the U.S. Department of Defense tells PEOPLE that Yarbrough did not, in fact, "break OPSEC," as Operations Security is actually a process rather than a code that can be broken. According to the definition provided by the official, "OPSEC is the process by which we protect critical information, whether it is classified or unclassified, that can be used against us. It focuses on preventing our adversaries' access to information and actions that may compromise an operation. OPSEC challenges us to look at ourselves through the eyes of an adversary and deny the adversary the ability to act." While it's something to take extremely seriously, simply stating that your spouse or someone you know is deployed is not a violation, given there are nearly 40,000 people deployed in the Middle East. If a spouse were to reveal sensitive information, such as the exact location of soldiers and their operational details, which could jeopardize missions and soldier safety, the official says they wouldn't be arrested. Instead, the compromised operation could change and adapt to ensure soldier safety, and the spouse would get little to no information about missions in the future. In a follow-up video addressing the comments, Yarbrough explained that she purposefully left the location vague and even asked her husband of 15 years if she had broken OPSEC, to which he responded, "No." 'I promise I know what I'm doing,' she captioned the post. 'I understand the world is crazy right now, just wanted to make a funny video.' Yarbrough was in disbelief that viewers would think the video was more than just a joke. She believes it's important for other military spouses to see that they can share their experiences without crossing any lines. "Honestly, when I saw those comments, I kind of rolled my eyes. I take OPSEC seriously and would never put my husband or anyone else at risk," she tells PEOPLE. "I even ran the video by him before I posted it, just to be sure everything I said was okay. It's easy for people online to jump to conclusions without knowing the full story." Despite ongoing uncertainties, President Trump has repeatedly insisted that the ceasefire is still in effect and that the U.S. is not at war. Read the original article on People
