In compliance with the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar has clarified that under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the Golden Card holders will continue to get full treatment facilities in three major private hospitals of Dehradun.
He said that the services of treatment with Golden Card will continue regularly in Jolly Grant Hospital, Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital and Graphic Era Hospital and all the necessary medical facilities are being provided to the eligible patients coming to these hospitals.
The Health Secretary said that the government's objective is that every eligible citizen of the state should get timely and proper health care.
Through the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, free treatment facilities are being provided to lakhs of poor and needy families, and the state government is committed to successfully implementing this scheme.
The Health Secretary said that in future also the services provided through the Golden Card will be further strengthened so that every citizen of the state can get accessible, affordable and quality health care.
Dhami has said that his government is continuously working while giving top priority to the conservation and revival of water sources in the state. To fulfil this objective, the state government has constituted the Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority (SARRA).
He said, "Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority (SARRA) has been constituted to fulfil this objective, through which 929 water sources have been successfully treated so far."
The Chief Minister said that this initiative is not only an important step towards environmental balance but is also a far-reaching effort towards dealing with the water crisis and securing the future.

Uttarakhand: Valley of Flowers opens for tourists on June 1
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 1 (ANI): The world-renowned Valley of Flowers in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand welcomed tourists on Sunday. On its first day, the forest department staff welcomed visitors at the main gate, where 62 tourists had registered so far in June. This valley features over 300 species of Himalayan flowers. The Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famous for its over 500 plant species. It is open for tourists every year from June to October. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has started work towards implementing the guidelines issued by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in the state. A release said this decision is not just an administrative process but a transformative initiative to make Uttarakhand a model state of a 'green health system' across the country. Health Secretary and Commissioner of the FDA, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, said that till now, there has been a lack of a clear and consistent system for the disposal of expired and unused medicines.'This challenge becomes more serious in an environmentally sensitive state like Uttarakhand. Now we are moving towards controlling it under a well-planned system,' Kumar said. He informed that in these guidelines, the process has been decided keeping in mind every stage of the life cycle of medicines from production to consumption and then proper disposal. Kumar further said that under the 'Healthy Citizen, Clean Uttarakhand' mission announced by the Chief Minister, this initiative will take the state towards a green and sustainable healthcare model. With this decision, the possibility of establishing the state as a leading state in the field of environmental responsibility and health security at the national and international levels has also become stronger. Only the active participation of all the parties involved in this entire process, policymakers, business organisations and common citizens, can make this mission successful. Uttarakhand is moving towards becoming an example in this direction. Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar informed that as per the plan of the Health Department, 'Drug Take-Back Sites' will be set up in a phased manner in urban, semi-urban and hilly areas of Uttarakhand. Here, common citizens will be able to deposit unused, expired or spoiled medicines lying in their homes. Rajesh Kumar said that the CDSCO guideline presents a scientific framework for safe disposal of medicines. It has a provision to divide medicines into categories like expired, unused, recalled and spoiled in cold chain. Techniques like incineration and encapsulation have been suggested for disposal. Arrangements like color-coded biomedical waste bags, tracking and log book system make it more effective. This guideline has been prepared in accordance with WHO standards and Biomedical Waste Management Rules 2016, so that the side effects of medicines on human health and environment can be reduced. Additional Commissioner FDA and Drug Controller Tajbar Singh Jaggi said that the system that was in place till now regarding the disposal of medicines in the state was scattered and unorganized. "Now we will control it through a 'third party monitoring system' and local drug enforcement units. Accountability will be fixed for all the manufacturing companies, wholesalers and retailers, hospitals and consumers. We will also run extensive public awareness campaigns in this direction so that common citizens also become partners in this system," Jaggi said. He further added that this step is necessary because uncontrolled disposal of medicines can pose a serious threat not only to the environment but also to public health. Such disposal can lead to mixing of toxic chemicals in rivers, lakes and underground water sources, which harms natural resources. At the same time, if the medicines come in contact with animals or children, a serious health crisis can arise. Apart from this, global problems like antimicrobial resistance (AMR) can also increase due to wrong and excessive use of medicines. The Uttarakhand government has made solid preparations to deal with these challenges. The Additional Commissioner and Drug Controller said that the State Drug Control Department would be made the monitoring agency, the Druggists and Chemists Association would be linked to the take-back system, task forces would be formed in the districts and arrangements would be made for monitoring and audit of data through the e-drug log system.

Rekha Govt celebrates 100 Days as 'Seva Utsav'
New Delhi: To mark the completion of 100 days in office, the BJP-led Delhi government organised a public program titled "100 din Seva ke" at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday. The event, attended by citizens from across the city, was headlined by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and actor Anupam Kher, who together outlined the achievements of the new administration since taking office. During her address, Chief Minister Gupta detailed the initiatives rolled out across sectors including healthcare, education, women's welfare, pollution control, and urban development. She emphasized that her government is focused on delivering tangible improvements in the lives of Delhi's residents. In the healthcare sector, Gupta criticized the previous administration for not implementing the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Delhi. She stated that her government approved the central health scheme in its very first cabinet meeting, allocating ₹13,000 crore to provide free medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh per person. Within the first 100 days, over 650 people had benefited from the scheme, with 80 hospitals already enrolled. Highlighting the need for better healthcare infrastructure, Gupta noted that while the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends two hospital beds per 1,000 people, Delhi currently has only 0.42. She committed to increasing this to three beds per 1,000 people and acknowledged severe staffing shortages, including a 20% deficit in doctors, 30% in nurses, and 40% in paramedical staff. She also pointed out that corruption and a lack of medicines plagued the health system earlier, but improvements are underway. Addressing urban poverty, the Chief Minister spoke about the neglect faced by slum dwellers. She accused past governments of treating these residents as mere vote banks, failing to provide basic amenities such as drinking water, sewer lines, and toilets. She assured the public that her government would not demolish slums, but rather improve livingstandards. She announced a ₹750 crore budget to bring proper sanitation and water infrastructure to slum areas, reaffirming that "Delhi runs because of these people" and they deserve dignity and basic facilities. Gupta also emphasized her administration's focus on women's welfare. She said many women were inspired to see her as Chief Minister and that her government is committed to addressing their concerns, including safety, dignity, financial independence, and childcare. Security measures have been ramped up with the installation of CCTV cameras at key intersections and street lighting in previously dark areas. Along with this, preparations have been made to open 500 crèches where working women will be able to keep their children safe. As part of the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, the government has allocated ₹51,00 crore to provide a monthly assistance of ₹2,500 to eligible women. Gupta said that six planning meetings have already been held for the scheme and efforts are ongoing to ensure that all eligible women benefit. However, she did not disclose when the disbursement of funds would begin. In the field of education, Gupta acknowledged that while Delhi has 1,071 government schools and 1,650 private schools, most parents prefer the latter due to the poor state of public institutions. She pledged a comprehensive revamp of government schools, introducing smart classrooms, computer and technical education, andopening 1,000 libraries specifically for government school students. Additionally, language learning centers will be launched to broaden students' skills. She pointed out that earlier, private schools would hike fees without scrutiny, but now measures are being put in place to regulate and improve the education system. The government is also preparing students for competitive exams by offering scholarships and additional resources. New Delhi:The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a scathing critique of the BJP-led administration, accusing it of inaction and attempting to take credit for projects initiated during AAP's tenure. AAP's Delhi state president Saurabh Bhardwaj alleged that the BJP government has failed to implement any new initiatives over the past three months. Instead, he claimed, it has focused on rebranding existing schemes and infrastructure built by the AAP government. Bhardwaj specifically criticized the BJP over the Mohalla Clinics, a flagship health initiative of the AAP. He claimed that the BJP is attempting to repaint and rename these clinics as 'Ayushman Arogya Mandirs,' an effort he described as a deceptive public relations move. 'Putting up posters and banners does not equal governance. The people of Delhi are well aware of who has actually worked for them,' Bhardwaj said. New Delhi:In a significant move to bolster public transport infrastructure, the Delhi government has announced plans to deploy 2,080 new electric buses by the end of 2025. However, the ambitious target comes at a time when the capital is grappling with an acute shortage of operational buses, leading to mounting pressure on commuters and the existing public transport system. On May 2, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off 400 nine-meter-long electric mini-buses under the newly launched 'Devi' scheme. These buses are currently being operated on shorter routes—many of which were previously underserved. The chief minister reiterated the government's commitment to rolling out the full fleet of 2,080 electric buses within the year. Despite the progress, the absence of 12-meter-long standard electric buses from city roads has raised concerns over the feasibility of meeting the year-end deadline.
