In compliance with the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar has clarified that under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the Golden Card holders will continue to get full treatment facilities in three major private hospitals of Dehradun.
He said that the services of treatment with Golden Card will continue regularly in Jolly Grant Hospital, Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital and Graphic Era Hospital and all the necessary medical facilities are being provided to the eligible patients coming to these hospitals.
The Health Secretary said that the government's objective is that every eligible citizen of the state should get timely and proper health care.
Through the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, free treatment facilities are being provided to lakhs of poor and needy families, and the state government is committed to successfully implementing this scheme.
The Health Secretary said that in future also the services provided through the Golden Card will be further strengthened so that every citizen of the state can get accessible, affordable and quality health care.
Dhami has said that his government is continuously working while giving top priority to the conservation and revival of water sources in the state. To fulfil this objective, the state government has constituted the Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority (SARRA).
He said, "Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority (SARRA) has been constituted to fulfil this objective, through which 929 water sources have been successfully treated so far."
The Chief Minister said that this initiative is not only an important step towards environmental balance but is also a far-reaching effort towards dealing with the water crisis and securing the future.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Haryana claimed that despite multiple assurances from government officials, payments continue to be delayed, with some hospitals experiencing delays of up to 4-5 months. Speaking to ANI, former president of Haryana IMA, Dr Ashok Mahajan said, 'IMA Haryana does not want to withdraw Ayushman services; it is being forced to! Hospitals have bills running into crores and are unable to pay their doctors, staff and vendors. They are forced to take this step to prevent further losses. They seem to be funding this government scheme; they pay late, and deductions are made without any reason.' 'Nearly 650-700 private hospitals all over Haryana will withdraw services. Assurances are plenty, but payment is much less! After our protests, the government pays every 3-4 months and then waits for the next protest. Even after assurances from the highest offices in the state, our dues keep on piling up,' he added. According to the letter written by IMA Haryana to the CEO Ayushman Bharat Haryana Health Protection Authority, the scheme is facing several challenges. 'Ayushman Bharat Yojana, a prestigious scheme of Prime Minister Narender Modiji, is facing recurrent problems in Haryana due to the apathy of the government itself. Time and again, we have been apprising officials of irregular payments, at times delayed by 4-5 months.' states the letter. Earlier, a meeting was also held with the Haryana chief minister and other senior officials, but none of the assurances were fulfilled.

KGMU docs treat all torn knee ligaments through surgery
Lucknow: Doctors at KGMU performed a rare and difficult knee surgery in one go—a procedure usually done in two steps. The patient, Waseem Ahmad, was discharged on Thursday after a successful recovery. Ahmad was admitted to the sports medicine department after a road accident five weeks ago. A scan showed that all four major ligaments in his right knee were torn, along with both shock-absorbing tissues (menisci). This left his knee locked and unable to move. The surgery was led by HoD Prof Abhishek Agarwal. Usually, doctors perform the surgery in two parts. But this time, the KGMU team repaired all the damaged ligaments and tissues in one go using a minimally invasive technique. The operation was done on July 21. Dr Prashant and Dr Utsav assisted in the surgery while Dr Satish Kumar and his team handled the anaesthesia. The cost of the surgery was covered under Ayushman Bharat Yojana . KGMU VC Prof Soniya Nityanand praised the efforts of Prof Abhishek and his team.

Dhami orders probe into the death of Army Jawan's toddler son
Dehradun, July 31 (UNI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today ordered an enquiry into the death of 1.5 year old child who had passed away due to medical negligence recently. The toddler's death, that had taken place on Tuesday triggered widespread condemnation. "It's very unfortunate and sad incident. I have ordered an inquiry in the matter. Whoever is guilty will not go unpunished" said chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami when asked how a 1.5 years old child of an army Jawan deployed in Ladakh border died due to want of medical help two days ago. "Regulation of medical services in proper order is our top priority but there several challenges as well. It's for the state government to fix responsibilities of the employees or officials found guilty of negligence, laxity and insensitive towards their duty" stated Dhami. It's significant that an 18 month old Shubhanshu Joshi, son of army Jawan Dinesh Chandra Joshi died in Haldwani due to delay in the medical aid. The deceased toddler from Gwaldam in Chamoli district had to suffer series of references from one place to another before he succumbed to his illness and declared brought dead by the doctors in Haldwani. "Uttarakhand health department has failed to save the life of 18 months old child of army Jawan deployed at Indo-China border. It's a sad story of the department that boasts of more than 4.6 thousand crore budget for medical health services. It's also an startling reflection of poor health services and acute negligence on the part of medical officers in the state. The poor kid and his family was made to suffer brunt of series of references from one place to another for hours before he breathed his last" alleged Garima Mehra Dasauni, a senior spokesperson of the state Congress. It's notable that ill-fated child had mere fever and minor chest congestion when he was taken to the local health centre at Gwaldam. Here Shubhanshu's condition went down and doctors referred him to the medical centre at Baijnath. Here from doctors referred the family to take the child to Bageshwar district hospital. Here too the child was not given any treatment and referred to Almora. Sadly Almora medical officers too did not find proper to help, the family was asked to take him to Haldwani where Shubhanshu was declared brought dead by the doctors.
