CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man was arrested Thursday afternoon after deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff's Office said he stole a vehicle from a Harrison County car lot.
On Thursday, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office received a report from Harrison County regarding a stolen 2024 Jeep Wagoneer that was reportedly stolen from Black Bear Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, according to a press release. The vehicle was reported to have no registration and was being driven by a white man wearing a hat and camouflage jacket with 'distinctive red marker stripes on his arm.'
At about 1:50 p.m., law enforcement officers said they saw a vehicle matching the description driving north on Center Avenue in Weston. Lewis County deputies said they initiated a traffic stop near the intersection with East 4th Street, but the driver fled the scene.

MCPARC seeking information after marijuana-themed graffiti found on rail trail

FAIRMONT, (WBOY) — Marion County Parks and Recreation (MCPARC) is asking for the public's help after marijuana-themed graffiti was recently found along the West Fork Rail Trail. According to a Facebook post from MCPARC, the graffiti is located on the bridge that crosses the West Fork River near the Norway neighborhood, which is just west of Fairmont. MCPARC said that these 'senseless acts' cost time and money to repair and that the perpetrator will be prosecuted if they're caught. Alert issued for disguised Chinese vaping products targeting West Virginia kids MCPARC added in the comment section of the post that more vulgar pieces of graffiti were omitted from the post and could be found 'all over the railings' in several places. Local trailgoers also took to the comments, with one claiming that the graffiti wasn't present when they traveled through on June 4. Anyone who has information on who painted the graffiti should contact MCPARC at 304-363-7037. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Hit-and-run driver who ran over, seriously injured 5-year-old charged: SF DA

(KRON) — An alleged hit-and-run driver who ran over a 5-year-old girl while she was riding through a San Francisco crosswalk on her bike now faces criminal charges. On May 24 at about 6:14 p.m., 35-year-old Jonathan Lam hit and seriously injured the girl near the intersection of 31st Avenue and Clement Street, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced in a statement Friday. 'The victim, a 5-year old, was riding her bike in the crosswalk with her mother a few steps behind her … when Mr. Lam allegedly turned left onto 31st Avenue running over the victim,' the DA's office said in a statement. Vendor fraudsters scammed Fremont business out of $180K: PD Lam was driving a rented Jeep Wagoneer SUV at the time of the crash and drove away from the scene without stopping, the DA's office said. The 5-year-old girl was taken to the hospital for serious injuries and was in critical condition following the crash. Lam was arrested by San Francisco Police on June 1. Lam faces one count of leaving the scene of an accident with an allegation that the crash resulted in serious injury to the victim. Lam posted $100,000 bail on June 2 and is currently out of custody. Man charged with felony hit-and-run that hospitalized 5-year-old

A man was charged with a felony after hitting and injuring a 5-year-old girl and her mother in the Outer Richmond neighborhood last month, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced Friday. Jonathan Tyler Lam, 35, was charged Thursday with one count of leaving the scene of an accident with an allegation that the collision resulted in serious injury to the victim, prosecutors said. Prosecutors said Lam was turning left onto 31st Avenue in the evening of May 24 when he struck the child and her mother. The 5-year-old had been riding her bike in the crosswalk at 31st Avenue and Clement Street, with her mother just behind her walking, when Lam hit them while driving a rental Jeep Wagoneer, the district attorney's office said. Lam then fled the scene without stopping, prosecutors said, or helping the injured pedestrians. Authorities said Lam did not provide his information to the mother. Both victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, police said at the time, with the child dealing with life-threatening injuries. Lam was arrested Sunday evening.
