Subang police investigating college student's death by hanging as murder after autopsy finds manual strangulation marks
Subang Jaya police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said they received a call regarding the incident at about 11.55am from the victim's father, who found his daughter, in her 20s, in that condition.
'A post-mortem was conducted by a pathologist from Serdang Hospital... the cause of death was confirmed to be due to bleeding around the hyoid bone (neck bone), while injuries to the muscles and bones were the result of manual strangulation,' he said in a statement today.
He said the victim lived with her sister and cousin, but was alone at home at the time of the incident, adding that the house belonged to the family and no loss of property was reported.
Wan Azlan said no arrests have been made, so far, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
He also advised the public not to make any speculations regarding the case on social media.

'If there is indeed an injustice involved, we will see to it that a fairer and more transparent action be taken. 'Right now, let this matter take its course since investigations are underway,' he said. The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC), on August 8, announced that the girl's body would be exhumed to allow post-mortem to be conducted, stating that further investigations by the police were necessary to ensure that all aspects of the case would be thoroughly examined. — The Borneo Post

Gemencheh primary school headmistress, 44, dies after collapsing in teachers' room
TAMPIN, Aug 17 — A Chinese national-type primary school headmistress in Gemencheh near here passed away after losing consciousness in the teachers' room today. Tampin police chief Supt Amiruddien Sariman said they received a report regarding the incident at 11.25 am and were informed that the victim had been resting in her room as she was feeling unwell. 'Initial investigations found that the 44-year-old woman had (earlier) attended the school's Entrepreneur Day Programme. 'At 9 am, the victim's colleague found her unconscious and she was taken to Gemencheh Health Clinic, where she was pronounced dead by the attending doctor,' he said in a statement today. Amiruddien said the deceased was sent to the Forensic Department of Tampin Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death, and the case has been classified as sudden death (SDR). — Bernama
