'Suspect' detained in fatal shooting of woman on Gillespie Street in Fayetteville

A woman was shot and killed early Tuesday morning on Gillespie Street and police say a "suspect" is detained.
"This was not a random incident. The decedent and suspect were known to each other prior to the shooting," according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.
The shooting was reported around 3:15 a.m. in the 2800 block of Gillespie Street, the release said.
The woman, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the individual detained was also not released.

Police are searching for vandals who damaged dozens of cars in a market town in Warwickshire in a two-hour destructive spree. One is wearing an Off-White brand top, detectives believe. Chief Inspector Angus Eagles said: 'This incident has understandably caused a lot of anguish in the local community, and we have launched a thorough investigation to identify those responsible and bring them to justice. 'One of the people we would like to speak to was wearing a distinctive top which we believe to be the Off White brand. We're hoping someone can help us identify the owner. Our CCTV enquiries are ongoing. 'We're continuing our enquiries and appeal for anyone with CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage from the area around the time of the incident to get in touch with us.' Anyone with information is asked to call 101. Crimestoppers is also offering a reward of up to £1,000 for information that leads to person being arrested and charged. A VANDAL threw a brick through a care home window and spread paint over the floor. It was reported that criminal damage was committed to a care home on Upper Golf Links Road in Broadstone. On Tuesday, August 5 at around 10.25pm, a brick was thrown through the window of the property and paint was spread. Police are now appealing for anyone with information to get in contact with the reference number, 55250115546. A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: 'Officers investigating criminal damage to a care home are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. 'The incident occurred at 10.25 p.m. on Tuesday the 5th of August. 'A brick was thrown through a window of this property and paint was spread over the floor.' Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at or by calling 101, quoting the relevant reference number. A suspicious death last week is now being investigated as a homicide. At about 12:40 a.m. on July 31, Saskatoon police got a report of an injured person. They were called to an address in the 300 block of Avenue J South, near Optimist Park in Saskatoon. There, responders found a 27-year-old woman dead, and it was listed as suspicious at the time. The death marks Saskatoon's 7th homicide of the year.
