
Man arrested for manslaughter after car crash in Willington
WILLINGTON — A man from Bethel was arrested earlier this week after a warrant for his arrest was issued in connection with a two-car fatal motor vehicle accident from 2024 in Willington.
The arrest was made after Louis Marcantonio, 22, of Bethel, was involved in an accident when his black 2007 Subaru Legacy was involved in a rollover accident on Rt. 32 in Willington that took the life of Maria Cardoso Da Mata.
The accident happened on April 27, 2024, when Marcantonio was traveling southbound on River Road, approaching the intersection of Adamec Road.

CT man dies after being ejected from vehicle during rollover crash on Route 8
A man was killed when he was ejected from his vehicle during a rollover crash on Route 8 in Seymour on Thursday. Emergency crews responded to a report of the crash shortly before 7 p.m. in the area of Exit 18 where they found that 37-year-old Daniel Popiolek of Beacon Falls had crashed his 2010 Subaru Legacy, according to Connecticut State Police. He was taken in an ambulance to Waterbury Hospital where he was pronounced dead, state police said. A preliminary investigation found that Popiolek was headed north on Route 8 in the left lane when he lost control of his vehicle and went into the roadside, state police said. The Subaru then rolled over and struck a light pole, ejecting him from the vehicle. The crash is still being investigated. Driver runs from scene after crashing into construction equipment on I-70; 1 flown to hospital
One person was flown to the hospital after a crash on I-70 in Clark County early Monday. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and medics responded just before 1:45 a.m. to Interstate 70 near State Route 4 on reports of a crash. TMAs are energy-absorbing devices attached to the rear of trailers or trucks. After hitting the TMA, the Subaru was disabled in the roadway, and the driver ran from the scene, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. A Hyundai Elantra hit the disabled Subaru. The operator of the TMA and the 28-year-old driver of the Hyundai were not hurt in the crash. The 36-year-old passenger in the Hyundai was flown to Miami Valley Hospital. An ODOT spokesperson confirmed the crash involved an ODOT contractor. He said 66 ODOT crews have been hit in 2025. They had 88 ODOT crews hit in 2024. We will continue to follow this story. Man, 20, killed in motorcycle crash in Lower Burrell
A man was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday in Westmoreland County. The crash happened on Monday around 3:51 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 56 and Wildlife Lodge Road. The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office said William C. Hartman, 20, died in the crash. According to a release from the coroner, Hartman was driving a motorcycle west on Route 56 when a Subaru Legacy entered the intersection and collided with him. The coroner's office said Hartman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The Lower Burrell Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police also investigated the crash.
