Driver runs from scene after crashing into construction equipment on I-70; 1 flown to hospital
One person was flown to the hospital after a crash on I-70 in Clark County early Monday.

As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and medics responded just before 1:45 a.m. to Interstate 70 near State Route 4 on reports of a crash.

An investigation found that a driver of a Subaru Legacy was eastbound on I-70 and hit a truck-mounted attenuator (TMA).
TMAs are energy-absorbing devices attached to the rear of trailers or trucks.
After hitting the TMA, the Subaru was disabled in the roadway, and the driver ran from the scene, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
A Hyundai Elantra hit the disabled Subaru.
The operator of the TMA and the 28-year-old driver of the Hyundai were not hurt in the crash.
The 36-year-old passenger in the Hyundai was flown to Miami Valley Hospital.
An ODOT spokesperson confirmed the crash involved an ODOT contractor.
He said 66 ODOT crews have been hit in 2025. They had 88 ODOT crews hit in 2024.

Deputies have charged a former Georgia middle school employee with possessing child sexual abuse material. A K-9 team that specializes in finding electronic devices that store data assisted with the arrest. Investigators tracked the IP address back to a house where they say Kingsley lived and got a warrant. The sheriff's office said Kingsley was a former Carroll County Schools employee. The district confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that Kingsley once worked at Bay Springs Middle School. A spokesperson sent the following statement: 'The district learned of the arrest of a former employee. Although the individual has not been employed at Bay Springs Middle School since 2020, we are saddened to hear the news. We're now in the ‘100 Deadliest Days' of summer, according to Highway Patrol
(WKBN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol and other agencies are urging drivers to use extra caution as we enter what many call the '100 Deadliest Days' of summer. The name refers to the time between Memorial Day and Labor Day when more people are on the roads. Highway Patrol recorded more than 65,000 crashes during that period last year, which was actually a slight decrease from the previous summer, but still involved 364 deadly crashes and nearly 400 deaths. Troopers say there are a number of reasons why more people are on the roads. 'So you have younger drivers that are out, that don't have a scheduled day with it being summertime. You have family vacations and activities that people try to get their families involved, too. So with that, there's always that with more people out on the roadways, we try to keep it as safe as possible,' Sgt. Ashley Jackson said. While Highway Patrol and other agencies are always on the lookout for distracted and reckless drivers, troopers say it's always up to the individual drivers to stay focused on the road ahead of them and avoid becoming distracted. Man refuses to pay $500 veterinarian fee, strangles his dog
A man is facing charges after he refused to pay $500 to euthanize his elderly dog and strangled the dog instead. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Richard North, 59, of East Price Hill, was indicted Monday on a felony animal cruelty charge for strangling his dog, according to Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich. According to the statement from Pillich, North brought his elderly dog, Tinkerbell, to the Animal Hospital of Delhi Hills on May 23. The veterinarian told North that the dog needed to be euthanized and quoted Orth a price of $500.
