Raheem Morris: Dan Campbell and I agreed to run out the clock after Morice Norris injury
Morris said after the game that he and Campbell talked on the field in the aftermath of Norris's injury and felt that out of respect for Norris and his family, it would be best not to play anymore. So the Falcons took one snap with 14:31 remaining in the fourth quarter and all the players on the field just stood together and let the clock run out.
"Just Dan and myself, respect for his family, Morice Norris, it was that simple," Morris said. "There's not a lot of times that happens. I can't sit here and tell you I've been through a lot of those or seen a lot of those. I don't think any of us have. That was the moment decision and it was the right thing to do for our football team and the Lions' football team with what happened tonight."
Morris said he doesn't know and gave no consideration to whether the league office would approve of two teams agreeing between themselves to effectively cut a game short by a quarter.
"I don't know. That wasn't in my thought right now," Morris said. "The thought process for both of us was about Morice Norris and his family. That's what it's all about."
In a preseason game, it's hard to imagine the league office disagreeing with the decision that Campbell and Morris made. Players were shaken by how serious the injury to Norris looked, and weren't prepared to keep going.
The Lions offered some good news after the game, announcing that Norris is stable and has movement in all his extremities.

RIDICULOUS drama saw Saints beat Wrexham 2-1 in the opening match of the Championship season with two goals in added time. Josh Windass put the visitors ahead from the spot after 22 minutes, after a careless shove from Ronnie Edwards was penalised by referee James Bell. Saints felt they were wrongly denied at least two penalties, with a blatant handball blocking a goal-bound Shea Charles shot chief among them. But all was forgotten when Ryan Manning struck a stunning free-kick in the 90th minute, before skipper Jack Stephens sent St Mary's into rapture six minutes later. The stonking scenes ensured new manager Will Still won his first match in charge at Saints, and he might never win another in such fashion. Still confirmed ahead of the match that Tyler Dibling, Sam Edozie and Joe Aribo would not be involved amid ongoing transfer negotiations. He opted to name a trio of central defenders with captain Stephens centrally anchoring the returning Edwards and new signing Joshua Quarshie. Flynn Downes was declared fit to start, but Mateus Fernandes was only ready for the bench. Also starting was 18 year old Jay Robinson. Wrexham fielded a new-look side with six summer signings following their promotion from League One - their third successive promotion. Former Saints apprentice Phil Parkinson has been at the helm of the Hollywood-backed side since 2021, securing legendary status in North Wales. After 76 days without competitive football, both sides started the occasion with real intensity, and they traded early blows without finding the net. Conor Coady put over from close range with a good chance for the visitors, while Robinson had three opportunities over, blocked and saved. Windass curled an effort off the top of Gavin Bazunu's crossbar, and fouls started to go in all over the pitch as the tension built towards the opener. The former Sheffield Wednesday man gratefully buried a penalty kick midway through the half to make it 1-0, after a rush of blood to the head from Edwards. Saints conceded possession from a throw-in up the field, and Edwards shoved Kieffer Moore in desperation despite Stephens stepping across to cover. Still's side went flat for a brief period but managed to brush the disappointment off to finish the half in the ascendancy, though they did not find the goal. Robinson then hit the woodwork in added time, and sole striker Adam Armstrong saw his rebound for a certain equaliser miraculously cleared by Coady. Although Wrexham's Parkinson complained about officiating enough to get himself booked, it was Saints who were denied two strong penalty appeals. It did not get any better after the break, as the first action of the second half saw a Charles shot blatantly blocked by a hand, but nothing was given. St Mary's was given a lift on the hour mark, when new signing Damion Downs and fan-favourite Fernandes were introduced by Still as a pair. Wrexham's low block proved impenetrable for Saints, as Fernandes and Robinson saw speculative shots saved comfortably by Danny Ward. The referee then missed two more potential penalties as Stephens left a hand on the back of Lewis O'Brien, and Quarshie was hauled to the ground by Sam Smith. But it is not all about the officiating, and Saints did not do enough themselves. Bazunu bailed Quarshie out with a brilliant late save one-on-one. Up stepped substitute left-back Manning, who curled a stupendous left-footed free-kick into the corner of the goal from more than 25 yards out to equalise. Stephens and Cameron Archer fought to head in a winner deep into the 95th minute, but Wrexham watched gratefully as the ball span away from the pitch. They could do nothing to stop the skipper turning in after pinball in the box saw Downs miss a chance but Stephens thump in at the back-post with seconds on the clock.
