But it's the cycle of life —older generations look down on the new ways of the young, who themselves are navigating a rapidly evolving world filled with technology at their fingertips. Each generation lets go of old traditions and embraces new ones, and sometimes it bothers the elders to see certain values, institutions, and practices disappear, especially those considered foundational rites of passage. Still, some experiences just feel different. Not because they were better or purer, but because they were shared. Small, oddly specific moments that you didn't realize were universal until someone on TikTok reminded you. The sound of the TV on wheels squeaking down the hallway. The nervous rush of passing a folded note across three desks without getting caught — those small moments somehow became core memories. These days, it's group chats, Google Docs, and everything saved to the cloud. It's just a different kind of school day. To the BuzzFeed Community, I want to ask: what school experiences did you have as a kid that you think today's students are missing out on? Nick Cannon On Having Five Babies In Six Months
Nick Cannon has reflected on the time he welcomed five kids with five different women over the space of just six months, and yes, you did read that correctly. For reference, the 44-year-old star has 12 kids in total, sharing 14-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with his ex-wife Mariah Carey, 8-year-old Golden Sagon, 4-year-old Powerful Queen, and 2-year-old Rise Messiah with Brittany Bell, 4-year-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir and 2-year-old Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa, 3-year-old Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi, 2-year-old Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole, and 2-year-old Halo Marie with Alyssa Scott. Nick and Alyssa also share son Zen, who was born in June 2021 and diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer at 2 months old. Zen died in December 2021 at just 5 months old. And if you're struggling to keep up, it is Legendary, Onyx, Rise, Beautiful, and Halo who were all born between July and December of 2022. Speaking to Vulture recently, Nick candidly opened up about his wild fatherhood journey, which the publication says he told them was 'a by-product of his eagerness to appease the women he was dating or his single friends who wanted kids.' 'It was also a little bit of, like, OK, God, how did I have five kids in one year? Probably careless activity,' Nick then admitted, before refusing to rule out having more kids in the future by teasing: 'The world is a crazy place. I never say 'never!'' Nick's brood has triggered backlash several times over the years, most recently last month when he struggled to name all 12 of his children during an appearance on The Really Good Podcast with Bobbi Althoff. When Bobbi asked Nick to list all dozen kids, he was immediately hesitant, and told her: 'Right, this is usually where I get in trouble.'"I know all of them, but when you label... Like, can you label or just rattle off 12 of anything?' he continued, but after some back and forth, he got down to business."There's Rock (Moroccan), Roe (Monroe), Golden, Powerful, Rise, Onyx, Legendary, Zion, Zillion, Zen, this is where many is that?"
