SQA Hosts International Symposium on Qur'anic Lexicon
Collaborative academic effort The symposium is hosted by the Sharjah Quran Academy and organized by its Department of Studies and Scholarly Research, in collaboration with Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, the University of Sharjah, and Al Qasimia University. Dr. Al Hosani highlighted the significance of this scholarly gathering, which features a distinguished group of experts and researchers from various countries. The goal is to exchange knowledge and offer innovative perspectives that contribute to the development and refinement of Qur'anic studies. Advancing lexicon research in Qur'anic studies Dr. Al Hosani explained that the event reflects the Academy's broader mission to support academic work related to the Holy Qur'an, especially in the area of lexicon research, which demands more scholarly exploration. UAE, Egypt discuss co-op in intolerance, human fraternity
This came during his meeting yesterday in Abu Dhabi with Egyptian Minister of Religious Endowments Osama Al-Azhari, accompanied by his delegation. The meeting was attended by Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, and Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Director of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities. The two sides explored several topics of mutual interest, including fostering cooperation across various fields, exchanging expertise, and supporting initiatives that promote social peace and cultural exchange among nations. They also discussed collaboration in addressing shared challenges facing the Arab and Islamic worlds, notably combating extremist ideologies. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak praised Egypt's leading role, represented by the Ministry of Religious Endowments, in promoting moderate, enlightened thought and countering extremist rhetoric. He highlighted the importance of joint efforts among religious and cultural institutions in Arab countries to present a civilised model to the world, reflecting Islam's true values of peace, coexistence, and human fraternity. He also expressed his eagerness for further fruitful collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Religious Endowments, emphasising the historic ties between the UAE and Egypt, which serve as a strong foundation for developing joint initiatives across various fields. In turn, Minister Osama Al-Azhari expressed deep appreciation for the UAE's role in promoting tolerance at both regional and international levels. He commended Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak's exceptional efforts in fostering coexistence among different cultures and religions, while expressing gratitude for the warm reception and looking forward to continued bilateral meetings that advance shared interests and enhance noble human values.
