Jasmine Andrisek, Annie Wright basketball — Gators guard grabbed 18 rebounds with 13 points and two assists in Wednesday's 1A Round of 12 win over Lakeside at the state tournament, 71-57.
Kawehi Borden, Sumner basketball — Sophomore guard carried the Spartans to the 4A state championship game averaging 20.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in the Tacoma Dome. All-tournament first-team selection dropped 24 points with five rebounds in a title-game loss to No. 1 Davis.
Olivia Collins, Sumner basketball — Junior guard and 4A all-tournament first-team selection guided Spartans to the state championship game, including a 25-point performance over Woodinville (semis) and 14-point, 10-rebound double-double over Camas in the state quarterfinals.
Shayla Cordis, North Thurston basketball — Rams shooting guard posted 15+ points and 3+ rebounds in all three games at the Tacoma Dome's 3A state tournament last week, including 23 points, six boards, and four assists in Saturday's third-place win over Garfield.
Avery Hansen, Auburn basketball — Trojans guard had 16-point, 12-rebound double-double in Round of 12 win over Redmond, then posted 16-point, 11-rebound double-double in Saturday's loss to Chiawana in the state's fourth-place game. 4A all-tournament second-team selection.
Aaliyeh Martin, Annie Wright basketball — Gators guard guided Annie Wright to 1A semifinals with 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists in Round of 12 win over Lakeside and double-double (10 PTS, 10 REB) in quarterfinals vs. Seton Catholic.
Soraya Ogaldez, North Thurston basketball — Rams point guard took No. 2 North Thurston to the 3A state semifinals with 29 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in Thursday's quarterfinal win over Bellevue. All-tournament first-team selection had 24-point, 11-rebound double-double in third-place win over Garfield.
Maggee Schmitz, White River basketball — Hornets guard dropped 23 points with eight rebounds and five assists in Wednesday's 3A Round of 12 loss to Garfield at the Tacoma Dome, 51-47.

Western junior Brynley Erb named Gatorade Indiana Softball Player of the Year
Brynley Erb has been named 2025 Gatorade Indiana Softball Player of the Year. The Western junior led the Panthers (28-4) to a semistate runner-up finish, batting .659 with 56 hits, 53 RBIs and 59 runs scored. Her collection of hits included 21 homers, eight triples and 15 doubles, and she also stole 18 bases and posted a .937 fielding percentage on 79 chances with two double plays. A Kentucky commit, Erb, who led Western to the 3A state championship in 2024, is a career .652 hitter with 57 home runs and 193 RBIs. More: Meet the five finalists for 2025 Indiana Miss Softball Gatorade Player of the Year honors the nation's best high school athletes for their success on the court, in the classroom and in the community, and distinguishes Erb as the state's best high school softball player. 'Brynley is an absolute stud,' West Lafayette coach Chauncey Fry said. 'She's as good as I've seen in my 13-year coaching career at the plate, in the field and on the bases. She has the speed, bat and defense to compete with anyone in the country.' Erb has maintained a 3.31 GPA in the classroom, and volunteers locally for the Western concession stand during sporting events, and as a youth softball and volleyball coach. The Gatorade Player of the Year program annually recognizes one winner in the District of Columbia and each of the 50 states across 12 different high school sports and awards one National Player of the Year in each sport. The selection process is administered by the Gatorade Player of the Year Selection Committee, which leverages experts including coaches, scouts, media and others as sources to help evaluate and determine the state winners in each sport. Recent Indiana recipients include Tri-West's Audrey Lowry (2024), Roncalli's Keagan Rothrock (2021, 22, 23) and Bremens's Erin Coffel. As part of Gatorade's commitment to breaking down barriers in sport, every Player of the Year also receives a grant to donate to a social impact partner. To date, the Gatorade Player of the Year program has provided more than $5.6 million in grants to winners across more than 2,000 organizations.

Somerset's Rebhan, Stevens are the Dade 3A-1A Softball Pitcher, Player of the Year
Taylor Rebhan and Ava Stevens had waited for such a moment since they began playing for the Somerset Silver Palms softball team in middle school. After coming up short at state each of the past two seasons, they Stallions left no doubt this year on their way to their first ever state championship. 'Every year we got so close and finally actually did it,' said Rebhan, a junior shortstop and University of Louisville commit. Rebhan and Stevens were each key to the triumph as they have been to building one of the best programs in the state over the past few years. Rebhan with her excellent glove at shortstop and prolific hitting at the plate, and Stevens with dominant performances in the pitching circle. And so, Rebhan and Stevens are once again the Miami Herald's Miami-Dade County Softball Player and Pitcher of the Year for Classes 3A-1A. Rebhan is the 3A-1A Player of the Year after another stellar hitting season in which she hit .430 with five home runs, seven doubles, four triples and compiled 24 RBI. Stevens is the 3A-1A Pitcher of the Year after going 17-4 with 97 strikeouts in 144 innings pitched. She also hit .400 and scored 34 runs while driving in 15 more. Stevens made more of an emphasis on becoming the most dominant pitcher she could entering her sophomore season and accomplished the goal with clutch performances throughout the postseason. 'My approach to failing improved. I'm used to hitting good every year, but this year I didn't hit as well,' Stevens said. 'But my pitching was most important. I handled it better. Just adjusting to knowing I had to do my job pitching and my team will pick me up was important.' Stevens is likely to be offered by multiple Division-I schools once schools can after September 1. Rebhan has the tools to be one of the next great players to come from South Florida and showed it again this season. But things didn't start so well for the Stallions overall. Somerset Silver Palms lost three of its first five games before an eight-game winning streak put it back on course toward a state title. 'The beginning started rough. I don't think, in the beginning, we had the confidence we could make it this far,' Stevens said. 'We felt like we're not this bad and we have to show that these teams we were playing aren't on the same level we are.' With Stevens and Rebhan set to return next season along with several other players from a core which has been together for the past three years, Somerset's state title could only be the first in a sustained run of success. 'We've all been playing together since we were in sixth or seventh grade,' Rebhan said. 'We all know each other and how are mindsets work. So to finally win this together was great. We know we can beat any team together. We just have to come in with the mentality that we can lose to anyone, but we can beat anyone.'
