Summer is in swing – and so are battles for the best sun loungers in Brit holiday hotspots.
The hotel used to film the TV show Benidorm is no exception – holidaymakers were seen queuing for up to two hours to get the best loungers.
Scenes at the fictitious Solana Hotel from the ITV series were recorded at the Sol Pelícanos Ocas in Benidorm, Spain.
Guest Louise Smith was shocked to see tourists standing in line for the best sunbathing spots, but the 'stampede' which followed was worse.
She filmed a huge wave of sunbathers racing to the pool the second it opened.
Despite having a large pool area, the eager guests could be seen racing to their desired beds after workers lifted the ropes.

Louise filmed from her balcony, and said after: 'Mick would definitely have a few choice words for them. I don't think any of the characters would approve.
'People started queuing from 7:30 am. I think it's ridiculous. You go on holiday to relax, not to wake up super early to claim a sunbed.'
Other Brits were appaled by the behaviour.
Kelly-Ann Wass said: 'I've been here for a week and gone down at 10 am and always managed to get a bed.'
Jay added: 'Wouldn't call that a relaxing holiday fighting for sunbeds.'
Days ago, holidaymakers managed to foil the plan of fellow Brits to secure sunbeds seven hours before their hotel pool opened.
Whilst enjoying a late-night chat on their balcony, Mandy Boyd and her mates spotted some men she thought were taking a cheeky dip in the pool.
However, on further inspection, the 34-year-old noticed the young men were attempting to secure the best beds at 2 am – seven hours before the pool opened.
The group of four girls watched on as the men pulled out their sun loungers to try and secure the best spots.
Mandy and her friends quietly waited on the balcony for the perfect moment to run down and take the towels.

Brits recognise extract from the Lord's Prayer over famous line from Star Wars, reveals poll
Can you guess what the Star Wars line is? PRAYER STILL A FORCE Brits recognise extract from the Lord's Prayer over famous line from Star Wars, reveals poll AN extract from the Lord's Prayer is more recognisable than a famous line in Star Wars, according to a poll. More people also identified Jesus Christ's ancient teaching than the national anthem. 3 Archbishop of York says The Lord's Prayer remains a 'steady guide' that still resonates with people of all faiths and none Credit: PA Some 80.3 per cent knew 'Give us this day our daily bread' is from the Lord's Prayer, also known as the 'Our Father'. It beat the 79.9 per cent recognising 'May the Force be with you' from the Star Wars films. 'To be or not to be' from Shakespeare play Hamlet was identified by 73 per cent. Some 63 per cent matched 'happy and glorious, long to reign over us' with God Save The King in the Church of England's poll of 2,000-plus people. The Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, said the findings suggest the prayer remains a "steady guide" and something which continues to "resonate with people of all faiths and none". Mr Cottrell is leading a "tour" of events at churches and cathedrals across the north of England as part of his Faith In The North initiative, with a focus on the prayer. He said: "These results reflect what we've been hearing across the north of England through our Faith In The North initiative, which invites people to explore the Lord's Prayer. "Lines like 'Give us this day our daily bread' speak powerfully to today's challenges, reminding us to seek sufficiency, not excess, and to consider what 'enough' truly means." Coronation Street fans slam Eileen Grimshaw's ‘ridiculous' exit as she waves goodbye to the cobbles after 25 years
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) CORONATION Street fans were left baffled by Eileen Grimshaw's emotional farewell tonight after 25 years. Eileen, played by Sue Cleaver, told her heartbroken boyfriend George she didn't love him anymore before hopping in a cab with son Jason and announcing: 'I'm moving to Thailand.' Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 4 Eileen was greeted to a big treat by the Street Cars drivers Credit: ITV 4 She left behind an emotional George after breaking up with him 4 Eileen declared 'I'm moving to Thailand' A cheery Eileen was waved off outside the Rovers after a few drinks with her Streetcars co-workers Steve and Tim. Eileen was greeted to a big treat by the Street Cars drivers, who beeped as she drove away. George was left in tears, having confronted Eileen with his suspicions that she wasn't attracted to him anymore. George was due to fly to Thailand with Eileen - and fans couldn't believe he'd throw away the money he spent on the ticket. Others slammed the idea of Eileen as a barmaid in Thailand, and moving halfway across the world on a whim. 'It's hilarious how they make moving so simple in soaps… 'She couldn't just up and leave to live permanently in Thailand without the correct visa,' one fan wrote. 'Can't see Eileen as a Thai barmaid,' another added, while a third joked: 'Seems they're giving Eileen a boring, miserable exit!' Long-time viewers also felt the storyline was a letdown compared to Eileen's dramatic past. 'Remember when Eileen got her head stuck in the railings? This has been mostly dull and miserable — which sums up Eileen in recent years,' one fan said. Even George's tearful goodbye was mocked, as one said:'George! You're not a murderer, a liar, thief, womaniser… that's why Eileen isn't interested in you, hon!' She also made the decision to make a fresh start in Thailand after being worn down by being suspected in her sister Julie's tragic death. In Friday's episode, Eileen's mind is turned to leaving the cobbles after hearing Theo's impassioned speech to his daughter Millie. Theo explains to his teenage daughter, that he can't return to live with her mum, his ex, because "it didn't feel right," after realising he was attracted to men and wanted to see where is his relationship with Todd went. George realised how Theo's speech moved Eileen and went to confront her after she'd been at the police who had just cleared her of any wrongdoing in Julie's death. The Sun exclusively revealed in January that she had quit the show after 25 years on the Salford set to look for new acting opportunities. 'The door is still firmly open but as I reached my 60th year, I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly,' she explained. One of Sue's major next steps is to become a a regular panellist on Loose Women after first appearing on the daytime panel show in 2023. Sue took a break from Corrie last year to star in Sister Act The Musical as Mother Superior and appeared in reality show I'm A Celebrity in 2022. Last year, Sue released her memoir A Work In Progress and revealed she was embracing being in her 60s.

Romeo Beckham looks glum at French Open after splitting from girlfriend
Romeo Beckham was snapped looking rather blue at the French Open, days after his split from his girlfriend was revealed. Romeo, 22, was one of the celebrities in attendance a the semi-final match between Italy's Lorenzo Musetti and Spain's Carlos Alcaraz at Roland Garros, in Paris. Dressed in a navy suit and black t-shirt, the Romeo was dressed in dark colours with simple jewellery. The second eldest of the Beckham children looked blank and somewhat downcast in some of the images taken at the game. This appearance took place just days after it was announced that he and his girlfriend, Kim Turnball, had split after seven months together Friends said things 'fizzled out' between Romeo, 22, and Kim, 26, in what's been an 'amicable' split that has 'nothing to do' with the Beckham rift after her name was drawn into the drama. A friend of the pair told the Mail: 'Romeo and Kim are both young and they had a lovely time together but at that age things don't always last forever and they decided to split up. 'They have been friendly since and have even been at the same venues. It's a huge shame, particularly as David and Victoria really adored her and thought she made Romeo happy but it wasn't to be. 'It happened a couple of weeks ago and relations have remained friendly between them.' The split took place amid reports of a family feud between the Beckham family and eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, 26. It was rumoured that Brooklyn dated Kim before his Romeo in 2016, causing a rift between the pair. More Trending However, Cruz Beckham, 20, weighed in on the rumours in a now-deleted social media comment, in which he clarified: 'Brooklyn and Kim never dated.' TMZ claimed that Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, questioned if Kim had the right intentions in dating Romeo. They also added that sources informed them that going forward, Brooklyn and his wife will no longer attend family events where Kim will be present. Got a story?
