Since sunrise on August 9 falls within the Purnima tithi, that day will be considered the main observance. Therefore, this year, Shravan Purnima will be celebrated on Saturday, August 9. Shravan Purnima is believed to cleanse one's sins and bestow spiritual merit. Shravan Purnima is closely connected with the Moon, and donations made on this day help strengthen its placement in one's horoscope. Items associated with the Moon, such as rice, white clothes, sugar, milk, kheer, batasha, curd, white flowers, pearls, and silver, are especially recommended.
