The โWednesday Season 2 Part 2' Trailer Welcomes Back a Familiar Face
Now that we're just over a week out from the first half of the season 2 release of Netflix's The Addams Family remake, Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega, the streamer has finally released a new trailer for its second half. The trailer starts nightmarishly, at least for Wednesday, with her waking up in a hospital bed. Although she's not greeted by Momma Monster herself, Lady Gaga, who has yet to make an appearance on the show despite all the hype surrounding her mysterious involvement, Wednesday is met with a familiar face, fan-favorite character Principal Weems, played by Gwendoline Weems' return comes as a surprise, seeing as how last season saw the loathsome head of Nevermore Academy meet her end. Thinking Wednesday also bought the farm after her encounter with Tyler (Hunter Doohan) at the end of season 2's first half, Weems took immense pleasure in revealing that she'll be nagging at Wednesday inside her thoughts as a kind of gothic Jiminy Cricket tag-along as Wednesday gets back to her premonition quest to save her best friend, Enid (Emma Myers), from certain doom. Sprinkled throughout the rest of the trailer is narration by Wednesday, reminding both herself and the viewers that she still has other matters to attend to. Mainly, her family's seemingly endless well of dark secrets bubbling to the surface, and Tyler being on the loose with plans to put Wednesday and Enid in an early grave. While the news of the day is that viewers won't have to wait all that long to get the final half of the split in twain season, fans can take solace in knowing that there's more Wednesday mayhem in store for them in the future beyond the second slice. Namely, a third season is in the works as well as a spin-off. While details on both fronts have been kept under wraps, showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have expressed interest in keeping the show going for at least seven seasons. Our money is on the plans for a spin-off likely taking the focus off of Ortega, should Hollywood come a-knocking for her to do some acting outside of Netflix's backyard. Regardless, Wednesday continues to be a booming success on the streamer. Shortly after Wednesday season two part one premiered on Netflix, Variety reported that the new season has already matched the first season's streaming performance. With Lady Gaga still to make her presence felt on the screen, the show is likely to continue performing well for the streamer and delight fans as it closes out its second season. THE RUNDOWN Taylor Swift liked multiple tweets about The Life of a Showgirl, adding fuel to fan theories about the upcoming album. One tweet connected her announcement date for the album to a Lady Gaga song's release date. A second post mused on the possibility of Swift collaborating with Grande; Swift liked it and sparked more speculation on duet rumors. Taylor Swift continued her new The Life of a Showgirl era by dropping a few hints about the direction of her new albumโand the two A-list singers who might be connected to the project. Swifties on X noticed that the singer liked a post from a fan who pointed out that Swift announced her album exactly 12 years to the day that Gaga released her song 'Applause' (on Aug. 12, 2013). E! noted the song was also part of Swift's intro playlist during her Eras Tour. Swift also liked a tweet about a possible collaboration with Ariana Grande. A Grande fan account tweeted in Portuguese, 'Everyone knows that there are two people in the world capable of breaking the internet with a feat,' alongside a photo of Grande and Swift. The post appears to have been deleted, but the user kept a screen recording confirming that Swift had liked it. Swift also liked tweets identifying Easter eggs for The Life of a Showgirl in her 'Anti-Hero' music video and 'Bejeweled' music videos: Of course, Swift has only begun to tease what's coming in her 12th album. 2025 VMA Nominees: Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncรฉ, The Weeknd, And More
The 2025 Video Music Award (VMA) nominations have been revealed. Leading the pack is Lady Gaga with 12 nominations total, including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Album, and more. The 39-year-old is the top overall nominee for the third time and claims 18 career wins. Bruno Mars closely follows his collaborator with 11 nominations total. Kendrick Lamar has the third most nominations with 10. ROSร and Sabrina Carpenter are tied with eight nominations each. Additional top contenders at this year's ceremony include Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Charli xcx, Bad Bunny, Doechii, Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, Miley Cyrus, and Tate McRae. First-time nominees include Leon Thomas, Freddie Gibbs, Lay Bankz, and Brent Faiyaz. Additionally, Beyoncรฉ and Taylor Swift continue their race for most-ever VMAs with fresh nominations for the 2025 event.
