Detroit Pistons add ex-Michigan basketball marksman Duncan Robinson
The Pistons agreed to a sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat on Tuesday, July 1, acquiring Duncan Robinson, who will sign a three-year, $48 million deal according to ESPN. In return, they're sending forward Simone Fontecchio to the Heat.

The move comes after the Pistons agreed to a two-year, $29 million deal with former Michigan standout Caris LeVert on June 30.

Robinson, a 6-foot-7 wing, was an unrestricted free agent after posting 11 points and 2.4 assists on 43.7% shooting last season, hitting 39.3% on 3-pointers. That was slightly below his career 3-point average of 39.7%, achieved while averaging 11.3 points a game over his seven-year career with the Heat.
His college career started at Division III Williams College before transferring to Michigan prior to his sophomore season. With the Wolverines, Robinson appeared in 115 games over three seasons, becoming a key part of the Wolverines' run to the 2018 national championship game in his final year with U-M.

Robinson averaged 9.3 points a game while hitting at a 41.9% clip from 3 during his Division I career but went undrafted. After the draft, he signed a two-way contract with the Heat.

The Pistons desperately needed outside spacing after being forced to move on from unrestricted free agent Malik Beasley, who is in the midst of a federal probe due to gambling allegations.

Indiana Fever React to Aliyah Boston's Bullet Pass on Tuesday
Indiana Fever React to Aliyah Boston's Bullet Pass on Tuesday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Aliyah Boston and the Indiana Fever looked to go into the WNBA All-Star break with their longest winning streak of the season. Advertisement On Tuesday, the Fever began a back-to-back, facing Tina Charles and the Connecticut Sun at TD Garden in Boston. Boston is having arguably the best season of her three-year WNBA career. Averaging a career-high 16.2 points on 58.3% shooting, 7.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists (prior to Tuesday), Boston was also named to her third All-Star game, becoming a starter for the first time. And against the Sun, Boston was quick to show off her playmaking skills. With just over six minutes left in the second quarter, Caitlin Clark received a pass beyond the arc from Boston, who then set a screen for the point guard. As Clark was doubled, she passed to Boston at the top of the 3-point line, before the former South Carolina star zipped a pass to a wide-open Natasha Howard, who made an easy layup. This increased Indiana's lead to 37-30. The Fever reacted to the play by sharing multiple different angles of Boston's pass on social media. "'That was a blaze of a pass!'" the Indiana Fever wrote on X. "Every angle of Aliyah Boston's bullet pass to a wide-open Natasha Howard under the basket is tonight's 360 degree play presented by Sequel 🤩" Following the Sun game, the Fever will finish their back-to-back on Wednesday, facing Breanna Stewart and the New York Liberty for the third time in 2025. Ravens' Secondary Questioned by Analyst
Ravens' Secondary Questioned by Analyst originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Baltimore Ravens believe they're in a Super Bowl window right now, and general manager Eric DeCosta tried to fill perceived roster holes in this year's draft and in free agency. Advertisement Baltimore added cornerbacks Chidobe Awuzie and Jaire Alexander in free agency and drafted safety Malaki Starks in the first round and corner Bilhal Kone in the sixth. Add that bunch to second-year cornerback Nate Wiggins and veterans Marlon Humphrey and Kyle Hamilton in the secondary, and you have one of the best in the league. But Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine wonders if it's enough to put the team over the top in the AFC. "There's no way around it. Anything less than a Super Bowl is going to feel like a disappointment in Baltimore. Lamar Jackson is squarely in his prime," Ballentine wrote. "Derrick Henry continues to prove he can defy the laws of NFL aging. The Ravens are likely to have one of the league's most unique and dynamic offenses once again. That leaves it up to the defense to set the ceiling for this squad. Last year, their cornerback depth was tested and failed. This year, they signed Jaire Alexander and Chidobe Awuzie. The veterans will join second-year players Nate Wiggins and TJ Tampa as candidates to play with Marlon Humphrey. Advertisement "Finding success in the AFC playoffs means beating the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Joe Burrow. As good as Jackson is, the secondary has to be able to hold up their end of the bargain." Caitlin Clark Makes Decision On WNBA 3-Point Contest
Caitlin Clark Makes Decision On WNBA 3-Point Contest originally appeared on The Spun. The WNBA's 3-Point Contest is back on for this Friday and some of the usual suspects such as Sabrina Ionescu and Kelsey Plum are already on the lineup. But what about Caitlin Clark? Advertisement Don't worry Clark fans. She'll be there too. On Tuesday, the WNBA announced its lineup for the 3-Point Contest. As we've already said, Clark will be representing the Indiana Fever in the contest. But she'll face stiff competition. Ionescu will be vying for the second 3-Point Contest title of her career, while Allisha Gray of the Atlanta Dream hopes to retain her title from last year. Plum is back in the contest after missing 2024, while rookie Sonia Citron of the Washington Mystics tries to add to her All-Star momentum by going 1-for-1 in 3-Point Contests. But Clark will also have her eye on the 3-Point prize. Unlike Citron, who was still in college last year, Clark declined the 3-Point Contest invite last year to focus on the game itself. The decision worked well enough for Clark as she joined forces with arch-rival Angel Reese to take down the Team USA basketball squad that snubbed her from the Olympic team. This year, Clark will be the captain of an All-Star team coached by New York's Sandy Brondello and with her teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell on her side. Clark's All-Star squad will also feature Ionescu and A'ja Wilson with Satou Sabally rounding out the starting five.
