
Sask. woman dies after being hit by vehicle on Big River First Nation
RCMP say the incident was reported at around 10:40 p.m. on the First Nation, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Officers, along with EMS, STARS, and Big River First Nation Community Safety Officers, responded to the scene, where the woman was pronounced dead. Her family has been notified.
Police say the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene.
RCMP says they continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
Big River First Nation is located about 120 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.

Man charged with two counts of first-degree murder after hit and run on Siksika Nation
RCMP have laid charges in connection to a fatal hit and run that occurred on Siksika Nation on Saturday. Gleichen RCMP responded to a car collision on Saturday night where a vehicle hit a group of five pedestrians who were walking on the Siksika Nation and then left the scene. Trayton Runningbird, 27, and Clifton Saddleback, 45, died as a result of the collision. A 45-year-old woman, also allegedly struck by the vehicle, is in hospital critical condition. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit said on Monday night it has arrested and charged Adolphus Weaselchild, 27, with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

Some Fort Saskatchewan residents evacuated due to gas leak: RCMP

A news release sent out around 8:15 p.m. Monday said city crews were at the scene of a gas leak in the area of Hummingbird Crescent and Meadow View Drive. Affected residents are being evacuated. Police are asking the public to avoid the area.
