Springfield woman turns herself in for Old Navy merchandise theft in South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT. (WWLP) – A Springfield woman has turned herself in for a larceny from an Old Navy in South Windsor.
Springfield police officer remembered for heroic act
The South Windsor Police Department states that 37-year-old Brenda Figueroa of Springfield was identified as the suspect who stole $400 worth of merchandise at the Old Navy on Evergreen Way back in March.
On Tuesday, Figueroa turned herself in at the police headquarters and was arrested on an active warrant. She was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled in Manchester Superior Court on June 18th.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man from Springfield is set to be sentenced to prison on Friday. Springfield man arrested after six-hour standoff on Byers Street Kaysone Walters was found guilty in the killing of 25-year-old Brianne Boiselle back in August of 2021. On August 11th, Boisselle was found on Baldwin Street in Springfield with several stab wounds and died from her injuries. An investigation led Springfield Police to apply for an arrest warrant for Walters, who was believed to be the suspect in the alleged murder and armed carjacking. Springfield police along with the U.S. Marshals Service, State Police and the Hampden County Sheriff's Department later learned that Walters left the state and was in Lakeland, Florida. On October 7th, the U.S. Marshals Florida Task Force went to Lakeland and spotted Walters attempting to run away. He was caught and arrested by the officers. Walter was charged with Fugitive from Justice Warrant and was brought back to Massachusetts to face murder charges. Dozens of students graduate Central High School in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The class of 2025 at Central High School walked down the aisle Thursday at Symphony Hall. Mass. education secretary addresses graduation policy changes in Holyoke Friends and family members gathered to celebrate their new beginnings. 'I'm proud that I was able to push myself this far. My parents don't speak much English, and they brought my siblings and I here when we were younger. They always encouraged us to be proud of ourselves', says Roda Nshim Irimana, graduate of Central High School. Currently, the incoming freshman college class has picked several majors, including Nursing and Computer Science. Many students are grateful for their time at Central and are looking forward to their next chapter, whether it be at college or trade school.
